Mr Sunday Reviews THE EXPENDABLES 3; "You Never Need To See This"

The Expendables are back in an all new and this time PG-13 rated adventure! And all your favourites return, Stallone, Statham, Schwarzenegger...Lutz. Hit the jump for Mr Sunday's review and why you'd forgiven for giving this one a miss.

Critics are calling The Expendables 3 "repetitive", "lazy" and "awful" which is unfortunately a fairly accurate summation of Stallone's latest effort. Though there are some minor redeeming qualities EX3 gives you little reason to hit the cinema this weekend. Check out the embedded video below for Mr Sunday's thoughts on The Expendables 3 and be sure to share your own opinions in the comments and to subscribe to Mr Sunday's new channel,

I wanted to bootleg this. Is that a good idea @MrSundayMovies?
n1ghtw1ng2832 - 8/14/2014, 7:40 AM
I don't care what anyone says this movie was freaking awesome!
SuperCat - 8/14/2014, 7:40 AM
@ Pasto

Just wait for it to air on TNT.
blackandyellow - 8/14/2014, 7:41 AM
Expendables 3 makes House Party 2 look like House Party 1.
Pasto - 8/14/2014, 7:41 AM
Lmao, I was watching the first one on TNT last night. Mickey Rourke's scene where he tears up is so damn uncomfortable.
Pasto - 8/14/2014, 7:42 AM
Jason Statham beating up 6 guys that are all larger than him without breaking a sweat...

Seems legit.

ah right on point, I was just talking about you @MrSundayMovies in another thread, you have any plans for the weekly sunday recaps you used to do before the new channel? like those 5 min vids where you'd present all the biggest news that came out, I liked those
FordEl - 8/14/2014, 7:44 AM
I could've bootleg this but I even thought that was a waste of time
SuperCat - 8/14/2014, 7:44 AM
@ Pasto

Really? Oh sh*t. I was just joking. Had no idea they were airing these on TNT. LOL.

Pasto - 8/14/2014, 7:46 AM
What was it like when you were kicked in the head by a horse?
GinjaNinja - 8/14/2014, 7:50 AM
if its like the first two i'm fine
MrChuff - 8/14/2014, 7:50 AM
Snipes says the line "I'm the knife before Christmas" which makes perfect sense when explaining that he was the guy who used knives as a speciality in the Expendables before Lee Christmas came along.
Not rocket science and makes this reviewer, again, look and sound like an unnecessarily shouty dumbass.

We knew we see this.
MercwithMouth - 8/14/2014, 7:53 AM
This movie was fantastic. It fits the style of the trilogy, the new characters are great. Snipes in particular is a great addition, and he brings his subtle style of crazy to the movie. Mel Gibson makes a terrific villain, and his monologue on the plane with Ross and others, is chilling and brilliantly delivered.

The only complaint I have about this movie, is the final fight with Ross and Stonebanks. It was too short, and I was hoping for a little more martial arts flare from Gibson.

Overall, fantastic movie, best of the trilogy.

I love ya, but you're off base on this one.
GiantNerd - 8/14/2014, 7:59 AM
It's probably as good as Expendables 2.

SpiderFraud - 8/14/2014, 8:01 AM
The characters this time around are done better than the last two. I also like how they had the most crazy body count I ever seen in a movie (too bad it wasn't rated R).

Other than that, the movie is whatever. Still a entertaining action flick, even if they are ruining the action genre by making a parody of it with good intentions.
DoubleD - 8/14/2014, 8:03 AM
After the 2nd one I said I would never pay to see these movies again. Same with the latest Turtles movie it was so bad I will never pay again to see one
JoJo1982 - 8/14/2014, 8:04 AM
Movie was decent

But wasn't terrible, the PG 13 rating screwed it up big time in a lot of action scenes
danetooeasy - 8/14/2014, 8:05 AM
"I hope you break ya other leg, you prick!"

HA! Marry me, James.
MercwithMouth - 8/14/2014, 8:06 AM

The movie leaked about 3 weeks ago online. There's DVD quality torrents out there, that's how I saw it two weeks ago. DO IT.
JoJo1982 - 8/14/2014, 8:06 AM
Jet li fans will be pissed again
Mel and stallone fight had to be less then a minute long.... seriously
The big final action sequence had tanks, helicopters, they went all out on that part..

Very impressive
DoubleD - 8/14/2014, 8:07 AM
All these guys should play a superhero in the Justice League movie.

Arnold = Superman
Stallone = Batman
Statham = Flash
The Girl of course would be Wonder Woman
DrunkenNukem - 8/14/2014, 8:14 AM
I don't care..this guys are my heroes...Sly, Arnold, Wes, Ford, Mel...i grew up watching their films...and i won't miss this for what some hipsters say...
SuperCat - 8/14/2014, 8:17 AM
BackwardGalaxy - 8/14/2014, 8:19 AM
None of the Expendables are great movies, but I thought the 3rd one was the most fun by far. Two was awful.
V8ER - 8/14/2014, 8:21 AM
I liked the first two for what they were. It's a shame Bruce Willis didn't come back. Though I hear he's a dbag. Oh well, Die Hard is still my favorite action movie ever.

SuperCat - 8/14/2014, 8:31 AM
LOL! @ gusto

That's f*cked up!
ChanchoMcGrady - 8/14/2014, 8:32 AM
I could be wrong, but I thought that Stallone had said he had considered making Expendables 1 and 2 PG-13, but the studio wasn't confident that it would have enough appeal, so they tacked on blood effects and a few f-words in post-production. And then with this one, he finally convinced them that PG-13 was the way to go.
Haven't seen it yet, but I thought the idea was to make an action movie that everyone could enjoy, not just adults.

Either way, I thought the first one was kinda boring, but the second one was fun. Cheesy, but fun. So I want to see this one.
marvel72 - 8/14/2014, 8:34 AM
haven't seen any of the expendables movies, these guys should of made these movie in the 80s when the guys where in their prime & massive box office draws.
Bl00dwerK - 8/14/2014, 8:35 AM
Never needed to see the second one, either...
Abary - 8/14/2014, 8:36 AM
This movie isn't even worthy of illegally downloading.

*shakes head in disgust*
Gusto - 8/14/2014, 8:36 AM's Isaac from Children of The Corn.
cipher - 8/14/2014, 8:44 AM
