New HERCULES 3D Poster; Scott Adkins Joins Cast

New HERCULES 3D Poster; Scott Adkins Joins Cast

Take a look at a new poster for Renny Harlin's upcoming take on the legendary warrior. Also, it seems Scott Adkins (X-Men Origins: Wolverine/Universal Soldier: Day Of Reckoning) has joined the cast as King Amphitryon.

In addition, Twitch report that Scott Adkins will play King Amphitryon in the movie alongside Kellen Lutz as Hercules himself in the Renny Harlin directed flick which is currently shooting in Bulgaria. They've also managed to nab a bit of info on the character..

"Myths are that During Amphitryon's absence, Alcmene (Hercule's mother) became pregnant by Zeus, who disguised himself as Amphitryon, when he visited her; she then became pregnant again by her real husband upon his return. Of these unions were born twin boys, of whom Iphicles was the son of Amphitryon, Hercules the son of Zeus."

Ror speaks the truth. Basically the Not-Deadpool who did all the kung fu fighting? Yeah, that was Adkins.

As soon as I saw that poster I knew this wasn't The Rock's Hercules. That man has epic, tree-trunk thighs, not that little girlie gam in the picture.

exe - 5/24/2013, 7:19 PM
Hercules is no hero.
gambgel - 5/24/2013, 7:27 PM
So '3D' is his surname on this movie?

So that was Scott Adkins who portrayed the reject deadpool/barakapool/ man/thing/whatever? Hope the taint from X-men Origins: Wolverine isn't carried over onto his other movies. And the rock is doing a hercules movie, too? Wow, hollywood has a track record in the recent years for pulling stunts like this. I wonder which one will decimate the other. My money is on the rock, he seems to have some superpowers of his own.

@exe - You must know the true original hercules myths. Good on you man. Glad to see some people are still capable of reading books.

JohnLamb - 5/24/2013, 8:22 PM
This looks like sh*t.
NeoBaggins - 5/24/2013, 8:27 PM
Dude, I was expecting that video to be pure shit. That fight is choreographed with much sickness. That dude should be BATMAN fighting like that. I might have to start watching some of these straight-to-DVD b-movies. I'm missing out.

Funny as hell at the end too.
Tevii - 5/24/2013, 8:53 PM
Scott Adkins is the man. A good actor and a GREAT martial artist. Should be a superstar one day
Tevii - 5/24/2013, 8:54 PM
Adkins is the only reason I'd see this crap fest of a movie
sameoldthing - 5/24/2013, 9:00 PM
Adkins strongly resembles Ben Affleck.
With his martial arts ability he should just take over being Daredevil.
sameoldthing - 5/24/2013, 9:03 PM
The synopsis of movie based on the myth proves how ignorant people were back in ancient times.
A human woman cannot be impregnated twice by two different men & have twins, one from each father.
I think female dogs can have pups from multiple males but whatever..this can be all explained away by the power of Zeus & his magical sperm. ha!
Ranger14 - 5/24/2013, 9:53 PM
Always been a fan of Adkins. The guy has mad skills and can act.
MightyZeus - 5/24/2013, 11:11 PM
This is going to bomb.
drykillogic22 - 5/24/2013, 11:19 PM
Adkins should have been Batman.
CaptainA - 5/24/2013, 11:58 PM
This looks like a crappy TV show poster
PrinceOfChaos - 5/25/2013, 12:27 AM
Hercules is NOT the son of the Greek god Zeus! Hercules is a Roman name and therefore the son of Jupiter! Heracles is a Greek name and the son of Zeus! Why on earth do they always use the roman name of Hercules yet the Greek names for everyone else?! First Disney, now everyone else. Whatever, I seem like a crazy angry person, so what? I like Greek mythology, but I would like it done right.
TelaVizion - 5/25/2013, 1:45 AM
@sameoldthing it's rare, but it does happen when the woman sleeps with two different men around the time she gets pregnant. There are "twins" born out there with different fathers.
A2ron - 5/25/2013, 1:59 AM
Who ever wrote that story plot is an idiot. You can't have twins from two separate fathers. Someone needs a proofreader.
ADParker - 5/25/2013, 4:44 AM
It can actually happen, it's called superfecundation. Insanely rare, but not only is it possible but it does happen.

And that 'plot' is ancient Greek mythology by the way, not something made up for this film, not by a long shot.
TelaVizion - 5/25/2013, 4:44 AM
@A2ron, its called "heteropaternal superfecundation"... When more than 1 egg is released, and a women have multiple sex partners within the same time, 2 eggs can get fertilized from 2 different men.
JGAR - 5/25/2013, 8:42 AM
Shouldn't they start using the name ''Heracles''? I know Hercules sounds cooler but still you have to prevent and avoid confusion. Also they should make just one of these movies, can't believe they are making 2 Hercules films at a time.
superman7 - 5/25/2013, 9:53 AM
why is the athenian acropolis in ruins in this hercules shot, when it wasnt built until at least 900 years after Heracles' death would have been?

And I would love to see someone call the Greek hero by his Greek name, Heracles, not Hercules, which is Roman.
superman7 - 5/25/2013, 9:55 AM
look at gimmick films. they always come out with two around the same time. Olympus has fallen, and that new channing tatum one. Immortals and Wrath of the titans. I had a bunch of other examples but I dont care enough to write them. But you're right, its stupid to release two at the same time.
