New MAD MAX: FURY ROAD Images With Tom Hardy & Charlize Theron

Entertainment Weekly have a few more new images from George Miller's upcoming film Mad Max: Fury Road. They features stars Tom Hardy ("The Dark Knight Rises") and Charlize Theron ("Snow White and the Huntsman").

“MAD MAX: FURY ROAD is the fourth film of George Miller‘s Road Warrior/Mad Max franchise co-written and directed by Miller. The post-apocalyptic action film is set in the furthest reaches of our planet, in a stark desert landscape where humanity is broken, and most everyone is crazed fighting for the necessities of life. Within this world of fire and blood exist two rebels on the run who just might be able to restore order… There’s Max (played by TOM HARDY from The Dark Knight Rises), a man of action and a man of few words, who seeks peace of mind following the loss of his wife and child in the aftermath of the chaos. And… Furiosa (played by CHARLIZE THERON from Prometheus), a woman of action and a woman who believes her path to survival may be achieved if she can make it across the desert back to her childhood homeland.”

I'm loving the little details, such as the staples holding Helman's old wounds shut, plus Theron's apocalyptic prosthetic arm looks very interesting!

Love Miller's 'Mad Max'!!!!!

csdot - 7/20/2014, 10:09 AM

Every time I see stuff from this movie I'm reminded of how awwwfuul Doomsday was. And it's probably not even that awful, but contrasted against how stoked I was for it, it sure was. Rhona Mitra is effing awesome and deserves to kick massive amounts of ass somewhere, and Doomsday looked like a total lock. How do you [frick] up Mad Max + Escape from LA, anyway? Sigh. So bitter.

AAAANYWAY. This, on the other hand, probably is a lock, and I look forward to it quite a bit.
SimonM7 - 7/20/2014, 10:45 AM
HAA! Escape from NY, I meant to say. Obviously.

To those who thought I was joking, tell me what made a movie about a search for oil fun to watch?
bs77 - 7/20/2014, 11:16 AM
Hardy is perfect for this role. I just hope this movie isnt a boring rehash.
sikwon - 7/20/2014, 11:16 AM
Aside from the epic car battles that had never been seen before? The palpable feeling that everyone in the movie was in a life or death struggle? That the Humongus and his people were completely and utterly ruthless? I wouldn't call the movie fun, not by any means, but as a vision of the worst of humanity, it was amazing. Even Max being duped into being a decoy to allow the others to escape. It was excellent. Mad Max was just as good. Thunderdome is by far the weakest of the 3.
GreenLanternRulez - 7/20/2014, 11:27 AM
Thank you sikwon. While I dont entirely agree with your points, you make some valid arguements. I too love the 1st Mad Max, its just that the Road Warrior was just such a drag to me that i fell asleep twice watching it the 1st time. It just struck me as a post-apocalyptic version of the old Wacky Racers cartoon
csdot - 7/20/2014, 11:50 AM
So first you say Mad Max is garbage, and now you love it? How could you fall asleep during Road Warrior it's one of the greatest action films ever made? You MUST be joking. Or trolling. Probably trolling.
case - 7/20/2014, 11:55 AM
Hey, fella! You're a turkey!
Azazel1 - 7/20/2014, 12:11 PM
They should bring back some of the original cast...
kakinurmawth - 7/20/2014, 12:17 PM
Say what you want about Mel Gibson, he may be a bastard, but he is one of the best actors out there still to this day. Edge of Tomorrow was his first acting gig after like six years of directing and it was incredible seeing him act again. I'm glad he is in the new Expendables.

I can't wait to this I'm a huge Mad Max fan.
kakinurmawth - 7/20/2014, 12:21 PM
oops my bad. the movie Mel was in wasn't Edge of Tomorrow, that was Tom Cruise's new movie (which wasn't bad btw). Mel was in Edge of Darkness
blackscienceman - 7/20/2014, 12:26 PM
Tom Hardy for the next incarnation of Hannibal Lecter please. I just realized he's perfect for it in every way.
eleven59 - 7/20/2014, 12:47 PM
Yesss bring back sexy virginia hey!!

Theron is great too. She's a foreign blonde so she's ok by me...
GreenLanternRulez - 7/20/2014, 1:00 PM
@csdot, Definitely not trolling, but I did mean to say 2nd Mad Max was garbage in my honest opinion
yinyangpalms - 7/20/2014, 1:19 PM
Mad Max was a good but simplistic action movie.

Road Warrior was a very good post apocalyptic movie with good depth, great attention to detail and with some innovative action.

Mad Max III Beyond Thunderdome was George Miller and WB trying to turn the Mad Max world into a kid's movie franchise in order to sell toys and merchandise.
They wanted some Star Wars like money and even went as far as to rip the Star Wars scene were Han is chasing Stormtroopers then runs when he encounters more of them.
It was unrealistic and silly. A dumbed down, commercialized version of the mythology.

And Max seemed quite content and happy to be involved in his new Hollywood adventure. So I call it "Happy Max".
McFarlaneFan - 7/20/2014, 1:26 PM
The blood on Max's shirt and his missing teeth mean he gets his ass beat pretty bad. Maybe the rumors that he gets sodomized by a gang are actually true.
TMcFarlaneFan - 7/20/2014, 1:30 PM
So I take it the characters of Fury Road have seen The Road Warrior? They are emulating the bikers from Road Warrior and have designed a rig like the one in Road Warrior.

And that idiot above Max must be a fan of The Dark Knight as he is trying to look like Nolan's Joker.
csdot - 7/20/2014, 1:35 PM
Nolan's Joker ripped off Ichi the Killer anyway so who cares. Why wouldn't the characters look similar to the first 3 films anyway?? So many dumb complaints
