The only redeemable directors to replace Edgar Wright is Phil Lord & Chris Miller of 21 Jump Street / Lego Movie fame.

I'm sad and this is so off-topic.
DrDoom - 5/23/2014, 3:36 PM
This movie has one of the most ridiculous premises I've ever seen. It is a KNOWN FACT that the '10% myth' is untrue. Basing a whole film on the idea is absolutely ludicrous. Anyone with even a smidgen of evolved intelligence would never go see this film.
patrat18 - 5/23/2014, 3:40 PM
I'll have the meh, with a side of meh.

Struggling to care.

8thDynasty - 5/23/2014, 3:52 PM
Screw this money grab - go see "Under the Skin".

It's way more important (and not for obvious reasons).

It's spectacular film making.
bigdannymac - 5/23/2014, 3:55 PM
Is this a comic-book-movie?
PunkRockJesus - 5/23/2014, 3:59 PM
The plot of this movie:

This looks like a bag of shit.

@MrMartinMarvel - ...and you know this because?

There is no reason to think that if we actually DID have that total power of our brains unlocked, that we wouldn't be able to at least Fly or have X-Ray Vision. There is no telling what we are actually capable of.
LittleDanglyThing - 5/23/2014, 4:02 PM
I'm going to see this film because the concept does sound interesting because I think it's actually going to go the pineal gland route... like DMT and astral projection and all that pseudo science stuff.
LittleDanglyThing - 5/23/2014, 4:04 PM

There are theories that suggest we would but it has nothing to do with using 100% of your brain. Look up the pineal gland theories, it's a little out there but it's pretty cool.
CherryBomb - 5/23/2014, 4:07 PM
Seems cool, but I kinda wish she wasn't overpowered.
Then maybe it could be a kick-ass franchise.
Tdi7457 - 5/23/2014, 4:48 PM
I just can't bring myself to care Bout this movie starring this train wreck.
MakluIV - 5/23/2014, 5:07 PM
I like it. Looks like she's about to do some damage. I'm there.
Braveandthebold - 5/23/2014, 5:09 PM
"overpowered" What ? That's not what the movie is about ? It's not about the powers it rarely is when comes to powerful beings like this.
Braveandthebold - 5/23/2014, 5:13 PM
I like the idea but yeah the "10%" of the brain thing is flawed. It looks like Superwoman movie to me, the way she says the world and how she perceives it reminds me of the way Superman sees the world, of course that side of Superman is unexplored in the movies so it's cool to see how it would look in a live action movie.
TheOverlord - 5/23/2014, 6:32 PM
Smart to move the date. Takes it out of competition with TMNT and the 2nd week of GOTG, both of which will; likely do well, and puts it opening with Hercules, which has "lowered expectations" buzz.
Wolf38 - 5/23/2014, 6:57 PM
The premise is far-fetched (considering that it isn't an overt comic/fantasy film) and I feel kind of over-exposed after having seen the trailer twice.

That being said, Scarlett and Luke Beeson (huge Fifth Element fan) are both favorites of mine, so maybe...

Marxman12 - 5/23/2014, 11:45 PM
I like Luc Besson as well. The Transporter films, The Professional, Taken, Lockout, From Paris with Love, and the Fifth Element.
Marxman12 - 5/23/2014, 11:52 PM
Oh. I also enjoyed The Family and 3 Days to kill which he was involved with.
Luminus - 5/24/2014, 3:32 AM
@DrDoom: On the contrary, I just had to tell someone recently that the 10% thing is a myth. Apparently, there are 1 in 4 Americans who don't even know the Earth revolves around the sun.
JediPhilosopher - 5/24/2014, 3:35 PM
I unexpectedly found myself explaining that stars aren't just dots in the sky but giant bodies in space far away. This, after a series of questions that revealed he honestly had no idea and didn't seem to care that much either. He believes his Bible though. Smh. And this guy has a job and I don't.
Luc Besson's female "perfect being" concept is like the holy grail of sexy awesomeness to me. I'm a sucker for this stuff. A girlfriend who isn't just hot, but completely awesome.
And as for the believability, well, it all depends on if you believe things like telekinesis might be possible. If they are, then someone able to think at an enhanced level might be able to bring that ability out in themselves and in no time flat have it perfectly mastered. Think of how well you were able to think at one point in your life when you were thinking really clearly. Now imagine if you could think 100 times more clearly. Every thought and memory coming together to create conclusions you would normally never have seen because you normally aren't thinking those thoughts and putting them together. Imagine you were able to then understand exactly how you were able to do so and figure out suddenly how to think always in such a perfect way. Like Sylar in heroes, you'd have the knowledge of how to be better and the understanding and ability to even physically reconfigure your brain with enhancements that would take you even further.
BuckyCap - 5/24/2014, 4:47 PM
Saw the trailer and groaned so [frick]ing hard. The "humans only use 10% of their brain" isn't only cliche, it is false. We use 100% of our brain.

This movie has been done before. Anyone remember "Limitless" with Bradley Cooper from 2011?

Oh, but wait! It's different because she has powers! Wrong. "The Lawnmower Man" from 1992:

BaneSmash - 5/25/2014, 7:47 AM
Really Captain Americas Scarlett Johansson? It's [frick]en scarjo for [frick] sakes she don't need Cap to remind us who she is,
