About time some one took down Cameron. I just wished this was the global box office takings, and that shit of a movie avatar had been assassinated by 007. Fed up on Titanic and avatar having the top ranking. If only Avengers had taken it away. Sorry Im ranting, but Cameron needs to make Terminator, not some blue alien rubbish.
sackboy1991 - 12/5/2012, 2:38 AM
Also I hope Mendes comes back for a sequel. I'd love to see Michael C Hall for the next villian. Hey Im a Dexter fan. or Bryan Cranston.
ThunderCougarFalconBird - 12/5/2012, 2:41 AM
Good, Avatar is a glossy turd where Skyfall is an honest good movie.
Thegeekygurl - 12/5/2012, 2:43 AM
Skyfall was awesome!
gillri - 12/5/2012, 2:45 AM
Thanks god for that, a proper character driven film is our top movie of all time and not Avarturd

As a British person and a huge bond fan this is great news, it's nice to see someone beat avatar at something.
AC1 - 12/5/2012, 3:17 AM
I really hope this becomes a world-wide thing, fantastic movie and it absolutely deserves to topple the highly-overrated Avatar!
SuperSomething616 - 12/5/2012, 3:19 AM
YES!!! There is a god!!!
manymade1 - 12/5/2012, 3:21 AM
It really deserves it.

You're telling me that wrinkly, old man, bulldog looking mofo in the first picture is supposed to be the suave and sophisticated James Bond?

Sorry, no sale. Personally, i thought that Casino Royale was crap, Quantum of Solace, i think i managed 15 minutes or so before turning off and i have no intention of seeing this one.

Get back to me once you start making proper James Bond movies again, with someone that actually looks like him and not a Pug chewing a wasp.
Ancar - 12/5/2012, 3:39 AM
RedMosquito, the next Bond will be probably a black guy - prepare yourself!!!
sackboy1991 - 12/5/2012, 3:40 AM

what was crap about Casino Royale? I understand Quantum of Solace, but Casino Royale.
Personally I like the new direction they went with Bond. Brosons one liners were starting to get cringeworthy in Die Another Day. This Bond is more hands on. Daniel Craig may not be good looking compared to previous Bonds, with the suaveness, but I was getting tiring, that he could rely on stuff all the time. Rely on his good looks. Thats what I mean with hands on. Craigs Bond is a bit rough around the edges. Making him flawed. Making him relatable. He aint perfect. He drinks pints. He is one of us. A flawed character, who has problems. I hate this word, but his character seemed more grounded, more "realistic". I liked the old Bonds, dont get me wrong, but if we were continuing with that formula, they would looks cheesy and pants in todays world.
I personally like the new direction with Bond, I had my concerns with Craigs casting, but it makes sense, with the direction. Im game for more films like this!
Ceejay - 12/5/2012, 3:45 AM
@RedMosquito - I think you should actually read some James Bond novels before you start that "making proper James Bond movies again" statement. The previous movies with their cars and gadgets in constant supply from Q are non existent in the books nor is the silly one-liners or over-the-top ridiculous villains with trademark henchmen.

These last three films other than On Her Majesty's Secret Service are the closest we've gotten to the tone and content of the books. Although Craig does not resemble the character facially as accurately as Timothy Dalton was (yes, and everybody hated him because they think Connery is what he's supposed to look like, WRONG!) Daniel gives hands down the best performance of Bond after Timothy who had it all down from the look to the constant smoking minus the scar!
Spideyguy94 - 12/5/2012, 3:54 AM
@RedMosquito read a bond novel then you'll know what bond should be, craig and dalton are the only bonds to capture the essence of him from the Fleming books.
Tajin88 - 12/5/2012, 4:10 AM
Its nice for Bond, but as long as there are another Avatars coming, that hit doesnt matter. At least not for long LOL.
AC1 - 12/5/2012, 4:13 AM
@RedMosquito this is the closest to Ian Fleming's Bond that we've had on screen in terms of characterization; the closest before him was Dalton (who was closest in terms of looks), and before that was Connery.
Craig's Bond is a Bond who has seen too much, who is reluctant in his job and yet can't live his life any other way.
AC1 - 12/5/2012, 4:14 AM
And by Dalton being closest before him, I mean in terms of character he was almost as close as Craig's is, but his looks are closer than Craig's.
CapA - 12/5/2012, 4:16 AM
Whatever. Casino Royale was 10 times better than Skyfall...
woodsy100 - 12/5/2012, 4:22 AM
This is a huge achievement, especially given it's done it at 2D ticket prices.
Personally I don't buy the "best bond ever" spin, but I agree it knocks avatar out of the park.
RedMosquito - 12/5/2012, 4:23 AM
@ the folks above talking about the character of Bond from the books; i knew someone was going to say that, and i would have mentioned it in my first post but i had to head to a meeting in work and didn't have the time.

I completely understand what you're saying, but you can't make one type of Bond movie (however inaccurate the characterisation may be in comparison to the books) for some 30-40 years (or however long they have been made) and then suddenly decide to make a completely different type of movie, simply because it is more accurate to the books. In my opinion, that ship has long since sailed. Through the previous movies they have established what a Bond movie is; what one can expect from a Bond movie. You can't suddenly change that to bring the character more in line with the original books, which, i would guess, the vast majority of movie goers have never even read. It is far too late for that at this point, IMO.

I have expectations when i see a Bond movie. These movies (for me at least) do not fulfill those expectations whatsoever.
sackboy1991 - 12/5/2012, 4:58 AM

buts that hollywood for you right there. they can change and do change when ever they like. this new bond series, is a reboot. nothing to do with the previous bond movies. They may have little homages to other bond films, with the classic aston martin and the look of the new "M's" office, but its a new series, that as other have pointed out more "faithful" to flemmings books. they wouldn't have a black Felix or a black Money Penny if this was in continuation of the previous movies. What Im trying to say is, this may be the 24th or what ever number bond film is, but this is a new series, that can "suddenly change" their direction. they have no ties to previous movies. The Craig trilogy, is a new bond, a new era, a new time line, and me personally I like this change in tone, and characterization. As i said before, I got bored of the Bond formula. Nothing changed over the course of them films because I knew the formula. I cringed every time I heard Brosnon say them cheesy "smart" one liners. The new three, have a new direction, that shakes things up and we get a fresh new direction with Bond, that can suprise audiences and offer something new that hopefully goes against the expectations that they have for Bond movies.
billytwohats - 12/5/2012, 5:04 AM
Don't really understand the appeal of this movie. I was bored and massively disappointed if this the future of Bond then I won't see anymore.
woodsy100 - 12/5/2012, 5:24 AM
@sackboy1991 - I agree with 99% of what you are saying, except that Judy Dench was also Brosnan's bond. Personally I think that was a mistake by the producers - a clean reboot would have been preferable.
Also there has been a black Leiter before, albeit in the unofficial Never Say Never Again.
woodsy100 - 12/5/2012, 5:27 AM
I meant to say M of course, not Bond - although Dame Judy as Bond would be intriguing casting for the next reboot
kazumama - 12/5/2012, 5:31 AM
Skyfall just an ordinary movie..dunno why it can makes so good in UK,the storyline is just simple and action not spectacular, maybe Olympic open ceremony got Daniel Craig to advertised..
sackboy1991 - 12/5/2012, 5:39 AM
@woodsy100 completely forgot about Judy Dench as M being in films before Craig, feel like an idiot now lol. I agree I think having her as M in a reboot, really confused things for audiences. I remember when I first went to see Casino Royale, I thought it was a prequel to the Bond films. I was 16 or something like that. So it defenately confused me when I first watched it. I agree that the producers should not have had her as M. I personally think that they kept her, just for the sake of saying "judy dench is in our film". Dont get me wrong, she did a good job, but it really caused a confusion with audiences. If they wanted a clean slate or a fresh start, then everything should have been "new". its like the case with JGL being in Justice League. Hell he might be a good choice for Batman, but if its nothing to do with Nolans batmans, then that too might cause a bit of confusion.
AztecRainGod - 12/5/2012, 5:51 AM
I loved Avatar, but I think this is terrific for the industry. Great for the Skyfall people.
OptimusPrimeTime - 12/5/2012, 5:53 AM

Hitboyj - 12/5/2012, 6:30 AM
Awesome. A fresh look and Adele made the intro quite good ( I mean the song Sky fall track )
gillri - 12/5/2012, 7:02 AM

jeez you onder why Skyfall made soo much money? I wonder what you think about twilight, transformers and pirates of the carribean making so much money then?

funny....but of course you trying to make light of our currency by referencing the imperial units that YOU use...which was invented by joke = fail
TheAbomination - 12/5/2012, 7:17 AM
Thank goodness too. Avatar was the biggest shit movie of all time.
ABLEE337 - 12/5/2012, 7:23 AM
I liked the movie but I was let down.
I was expecting too much because of all this hype and the money it was making, but still a very good movie.

James Cameron doesn't do what James Cameron does for James Cameron...

James Cameron does what James Cameron does, because James Cameron IS...

James Cameron.
