What'd you guys think? Would you want the reboot to follow a similar tone? Sound off with your thoughts below!

Long ago, the ancient wizard Zordon did battle with the evil witch Rita Repulsa. He eventually managed to defeat her in a game using five magic coins. As punishment for her loss, she was sealed in a canister on Planet Nemesis, a planet that travels close to Earth every 10,000 years. However, before being sealed away, Rita trapped Zordon in a time warp.

Millennia later, Rita and her minions escaped their prison and set out to conquer Earth. Zordon, desperate to stop her, had his assistant Alpha 5 recruit five "teenagers with attitude" (Jason Lee Scott, Zack Taylor, Billy Cranston, Trini Kwan, & Kimberly Ann Hart)  to counter her threat. They were granted the powers of the dinosaurs, and became the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers.

Mighty Morphin Power Rangers featured:
Austin St. John as Jason Lee Scott/Red Ranger
Thuy Trang as Trini Kwan/Yellow Ranger
David Yost as Billy Cranston/Blue Ranger
Amy Jo Johnson as Kimberly Ann Hart/Pink Ranger
Walter Jones as Zack Taylor/Black Ranger
Jason David Frank as Tommy Oliver/Green & White Ranger
Steve Cardenas as Rocky DeSantos/2nd Red Ranger
Karan Ashley as Aisha Campbell/2nd Yellow Ranger
Johnny Yong Bosch as Adam Park/2nd Black Ranger
Catherine Sutherland as Katherine Hillard/2nd Pink Ranger

The way studios want to do dark and gritty reboots, "The Ranger" sounds like an accurate title for the new film.... unfortunately. xD
pesmerga44 - 8/12/2014, 2:41 PM
Was pretty good I liked it.

Not quite sure the continuous shot of the door slamming was the dramatic effect they were going for... especially since he opened the door immediately and let him in... I would love to see outtakes of this though..

Not all that funny but it's always great when PR news breaks out. Caught the 'Kim' easter egg but no other ones really.
TonyChu - 8/12/2014, 2:55 PM
Come on! Everybody knows it's always Tommy and Kimberly.

I am all for the reboot movie. I just hope they reboot it with 6 rangers off the bat and that Tommy Oliver is good from the start. Making him evil first was ok for the show, but if were going for a movie, he needs to be evil for the first 15 min or something then good with the other Rangers.
campblood - 8/12/2014, 3:10 PM
@LaffaTaffa agreed but not 15 minutes in, i say in the last 3rd of the movie tommy is good
GirlRage - 8/12/2014, 3:23 PM
Haha he sleeps on a pedo mattress and spoons a punching bag surrounded by beer cans. That is funny!

Since yellow ranger passed away what are they going to do with her role?
ManofSteel23 - 8/12/2014, 3:40 PM
I really cant wait for the movie! I just hope their suits aren't terrible, but I can't wait to see pacific rim type zords, I just wonder how they will control them, pacific rim style with them making the moves for the zord, or just stand there with a few sticks to move around
campblood - 8/12/2014, 3:45 PM
@ Manofsteel23 i think G-Gundam style would be cool
CaptainAmerica1945 - 8/12/2014, 3:45 PM

"They pump you then they dump you."

Hahahaha that line was so funny..
RidiculousFanBoyDemands - 8/12/2014, 7:02 PM
Lol him moving aside the red shirt with the sleeves cut off that jason rocked in most episodes was pretty funny.
BIGBMH - 8/12/2014, 8:18 PM
Pretty cool. It might have been nice to have the kid of the deceased ranger be Trini's kid as a way of paying tribute to Thuy Trang.

Wow this was terribly bad. Not funny whatsoever and very painful to watch. Somebody should Die for this because it was not funny. Well not actually Die but you guys get the point.
Orehrepus - 8/12/2014, 11:14 PM
I don't know what Funny or Die is supposed to be about, but this was never intended to be funny. Hence the intro "Ever wonder what a more seriously toned Mighty Morphin Power Rangers might look like?"

It's actually good, in my opinion. It's kind of like in the spirit of The Expendables.

On another note, I'm really looking forward to the reboot.

I stopped watching power ranger because it was just too cheese and campy when I was in grade 5. I would love to see a more less campy and serious tone then what it was previously.
