Twilight and Hercules 3D (no, not the one with The Rock in it) star Kellan Lutz is in talks to join the cast of Patrick Hughes' The Expendables 3. Sylvester Stallone meanwhile has also revealed a couple of extra casting additions to the movie. Check it out!

The Wrap has revealed that Kellan Lutz - perhaps best known for playing 'Emmett Cullen' in The Twilight Saga is in talks to join the cast of The Expendables 3. Everyone from Jackie Chan to Wesley Snipes have been rumoured for a role, although the site confirms that Mekk Gibson is in fact not officially attached to the project at this time. They also add that the movie, "will introduce a younger group of tech-savvy action heroes who initially clash with the older crew, though they eventually team up to save the day." That's presumably the team that Lutz will be a part of. Sylvester also took to his Twitter account last night to reveal two other casting additions.

I'm down with this. Childish idiots will start bashing Twilight when it's really unnecessary. Kellan Lutz is a big guy with a great body, he was made for action movies and he's a good addition to this cast.
CoulsonLives - 7/24/2013, 4:15 AM
@CherryBomb Not really...
whoa123 - 7/24/2013, 4:17 AM
Even though Lutz is a massive guy, he really don't strike me as manly. Don't know why.
devil - 7/24/2013, 4:18 AM
3 who should be in the expendables

carl weathers
jesse ventura
danny trejo
rebellion - 7/24/2013, 4:21 AM
they're still trying to make him happen? okay, he looks good, according to some people, but he has zero talent. even in the action scenes he is totally unconvincing. stick to commercials please.
sameoldthing - 7/24/2013, 4:35 AM
Ha..Lutz is a putz!

Many guys are muscular, this guy had zero charisma & personality.
No acting talent either..go back to modeling underwear you turd.

Expendables should stick with the old time action guys..let em fight/kill some young punks.
CherryBomb - 7/24/2013, 4:41 AM
Sylvester Stallone is a terrible actor so is Arnold Schearzanegger
dave116 - 7/24/2013, 4:41 AM
Stupid franchise.
Thegeekygurl - 7/24/2013, 4:44 AM
Mention anything Twilight and you get the jealous guys all worked up! Drives em nuts the chicks love Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner and Kellan Lutz.

Such mentions reminds them that all men are not created hot!

Gonna be fun reading all the poor jealous guys raging about this! hahahaha!
rebellion - 7/24/2013, 4:47 AM
they are but action movies suit them. this guy is crap. he can't do anything right.
Thegeekygurl - 7/24/2013, 4:48 AM
@rebellion He does so much right! Look at how hot he is! MMMM, mmmm!
rebellion - 7/24/2013, 4:54 AM
he may be huge, but his face is average and his acting (can we even call it that?) is tragic. sorry. he is no henry cavill or chris hemsworth. those people actually have something called talent.
beane2099 - 7/24/2013, 5:03 AM
You know who should be in the Expendables that I've never seen anyone mention? Lou Ferigno. You could slap green paint on that man right now and he could still play the Hulk.
ManDeth - 7/24/2013, 5:10 AM
Im a guy and Im secure enough to not be jealous of these guys girls like. 99% of the guys who hate on the latest male sex symbols would swap places with them in a heartbeat.
They make great money, get to travel be famous and if they want gets loads of ass!

This guy did good in Immortals. But hes just in talks for Ex 3. And if hes smart he'll stay away from that film. Stallone and Arnold and the rest are too damn old to be doing that stuff. No one takes their films seriously now or anyone in them. Doing such a movie is meaningless.
ManDeth - 7/24/2013, 5:16 AM
@beane2099 You're right about Lou. And he maintained his body better than Stallone and Arnold. He dwarves both of them and looks a decade younger.

Not many people realize it but Stallone was maintaining his youth very well until he gained weight for "Cop Land". He lost the weight later but it changed his face and skin. Hard to lose facial fat when youre old, even if you lose body weight. HGH deformed him a bit too.

Arnold was doing great staying young looking until he got slowed by that heart surgery and later doing politics.
sameoldthing - 7/24/2013, 5:29 AM
Sly & Arnold have talent in the fact they have large personalities.
So much so,that what worked against most..the muscles & odd only gave them memorable attributes.

Arnold had so much charisma in real life he basically would destroy his bodybuilding competitors before setting foot on stage.
It helped he was in fantastic condition too.
By force of will he became one of the biggest stars in Hollywood.

Sly isn't a great actor but decent, first Rocky & Rambo had dramatic stuff he pulled off well.
Plus he wrote & directed Rocky & won a Oscar.
Lutz will never achieve a fraction of what those action icons have done.
InfiniteMonkey - 7/24/2013, 5:37 AM
Why don't they put Taylor Lautner in there? He's basically the same mold as the Lutz bloke.
TayDee - 7/24/2013, 5:44 AM
Sounds like you all have something personal against Lutz
CptHero - 7/24/2013, 5:54 AM
They're really ran out of stars
TruePunishment - 7/24/2013, 6:10 AM
To be fair, Lutz was in the only good scene in the horrible remake of "Nightmare". Watching him cut his own throat was pretty awesome.
ManDeth - 7/24/2013, 6:18 AM
@sameoldthing Arnold was progressing his acting abilities until he got attention for "I'll be back." After that he was just an entertainer.
But if people watch Conan and Terminator #1 (unbiased) they see Arnold doing some good acting. People watch Conan and mistakenly think he was just being himself. In actuality he was playing that part well and even had some very unique body movements here and there that suggested Conan's lack of complexity. Though those ideas may not have been his.
In T1 he was genuinely playing that part. Even the stone faced looks of the T800 scanning streets as he drove a car were good.

His approach changed after T1's success and his T800 in T2 was just another Arnold character.

Stallone never got credit for his acting when he tried so he seemed to jst say f*** it and he went dumbed down for stuff like Cobra, Rambo II, Tango and Cash and etc.
Stallones acting in Rocky and First Blood was excellent.

But now theyre just too old to do what they did best. They can no longer do their expertise and they should just stop. Now theyre as old as the old guys who used to play their Generals or Colonels.
They should be the old Generals now for younger guys. But they dont want to pass the torch so they embarrass themselves.
Niklander - 7/24/2013, 7:15 AM
Hey Stallone I love you man but what about adding these badasses

Look at Michael Biehn he fought a Terminator and Aliens along with Ripley.Russell dude destroyed an alien organism who can mimic everyone WITH A FREAKING DYNAMITE come on Sly and he was the guy you could trust when you wanted to escape an unescapable prison.I mean come on guys I am not the only one who wants those two back in Expendables
damntree - 7/24/2013, 8:13 AM
Yeah, guys are just jealous of Justin Bieber too. ::rolleyes::

Typical defense mechanism to justify your all around bad taste.
TheIlluminati - 7/24/2013, 8:23 AM
@monkeyballs wtf?!?!? them muhaf@#kas look corny as Victor "Throw in the Towel" Ortiz is in the movie?!?!? He cant act....ooh wait yes he can ;)
mgeoff88 - 7/24/2013, 9:34 AM
Hell Yeah! Ronda Rousey! They're going with the classic old school versus new school story for EXP3.

@Thegeekygurl What I'm really jealous of with those guys is that they make more money than I ever dream of making. And the fact they do get a lot of women is something to think about too. Girls are amazing, so of course every guy wants do very well with them. That's a no-brainer. Do I wish I could do get as many girls as them? Of course! Does that make me jealous of them? No, I just wish I was as lucky as them is all.

For me what it comes down, is the cheesiness factor of being part of the Twilight franchise that makes it hard for me to take them seriously in movies like this. Like if it was announced Zac Efron was going to be cast in EXP4, I think that would be lame as [frick]. I would have to see these guys in a edgy movie or a serious action/adventure movie before I could take them seriously.

What's funny is in EXP2 Liam Hemsworth was cast in it, and the only thing I knew him from was seeing him in a trailer for a Miley Cyrus movie. Yet the guy ended up being awesome in the movie. I was able to take him seriously from the get-go. I'm not even that familiar with Kellan Lutz compared to other actors you mentioned, so it's not really a big deal for me.
Ranger14 - 7/24/2013, 9:58 AM
It kind of goes against the formula they wanted to use for the films...teaming up iconic action stars for a major cheese fest. Lutz isn't near iconic and isn't even really an action star in the sense the others are. I guess they need to do something to draw the younger demographic and women to watch the C films. I could hardly make it throu the second one and I grew up watching all the individual action star films.
Gnyah123 - 7/24/2013, 10:16 AM
wasnt it reported or a rumor that THIS guy was going to be Lex in MOS at some point? or am i just dumb..
Euphemia - 7/24/2013, 11:10 AM
@Gnyah123 No. They are casting Batman right now. The Lex casting will start after they cast Batman.
saymekian - 7/24/2013, 12:40 PM
They tried to get Kurt Russel a long time ago and he said no.

Snipes would be great. I want to see some Steven Seagal. Maybe get the new action stars in there with Vin Diesel and Matt Damon. The Rock needs to be in there as well.
Morbius - 7/24/2013, 1:13 PM
Ugh a twilight actor in this I wonder why stallone is obsessed with the young ones LOL.
