UNDER THE DOME S1 E02 Promo; "The Fire"

After a very impressive first episode and great ratings, Under The Dome (based on the novel of the same name by Stephen King) will continue next week with an episode ominously entitled, "The Fire". Hit the jump to check out the 30 second promo released by CBS.

The town of Chester's Mill has been cut off from everything. Now the biggest threat they'll face is each other on the next episode of Under The Dome, airing Monday at 10/9c.

Is there any way to download this if you don't have HBO? It's not on ITunes.

Sounds a lot like the Gone series. An entire town and surrounding area snow globed off from the rest of the world by a mysterious opaque barrier. But in Gone everyone over the age of 15 disappears and the town is left with kids developing supernatural powers and animals mutating into deadlier beasts.

jimoakley666 - 6/26/2013, 7:10 AM
Good grief. What did Homer do this time?
JettJagguarrr - 6/26/2013, 7:12 AM
Anyway watching this show is just stupid.....it's LOST under a DOME instead of an Island.
PeterDarker - 6/26/2013, 7:25 AM
Lost + Lord of the Fly's = This show. I just watched it for the first and last time.
JoshWilding - 6/26/2013, 7:27 AM
I loved the book and the show seems to be a great mixture of that and some intriguing new stuff so far. Well worth checking out!

My friends in this show!!!
JettJagguarrr - 6/26/2013, 7:48 AM
@TheSoulEater.....I hope they got paid.
subzero1077 - 6/26/2013, 7:50 AM
The book is amazing. The show is not bad, but some of the acting is.
GodzillaKart - 6/26/2013, 8:32 AM
@JettJagguarrr: I haven't seen the show but the book is great. Scary and very smart social commentary.

Lost was a stupid show with horrible writing for stupid people.

Yeah he is, his names Kevin, and he's the cop at 0:17
Chewtoy - 6/26/2013, 9:14 AM
It's certainly not "Lost"... After all, being based on a novel, it's not randomly making up shit as it goes along that it will never be able to explain.

That said, the explanation isn't all that great, and yes... the "Lord of the Flies" part applies in spades.

I really liked the pilot. Very Stephen King-ey. That's a good thing because it's been a long time since he's done anything interesting.
fettastic - 6/26/2013, 9:31 AM
If any of you [frick]ers spoil the ending Ima hunt your clown ass down by the way.
charlie2094 - 6/26/2013, 9:54 AM
The pilot was great! Some of the acting seemed a bit naff in places, but otherwise really enjoyed it!

Anyone read the book? I'm finding it hard to imagine there being an ending to this that doesn't disappoint :/ Is this the case?
Growler - 6/26/2013, 11:35 AM
@Charlie2094 - The book's ending is its downfall, unfortunately but it's already been said that the ending they have in mind for this series will be different to that in the novel.
fettastic - 6/26/2013, 12:02 PM
King doesn't know how to end his stories. Rarely do you end a Stephen King story without saying "Wait....WHAT? That's IT?!"

I remember when I read The Mist, probably my favorite King story of all time. I got to the end and I checked to make sure I hadn't missed a page because I couldn't believe the story just ended. I LOVE how Frank Darabont ended the movie and King himself has said that if he would have thought of that ending at the time he would have written it that way.
DEATHbyEXILE - 6/26/2013, 12:20 PM
Havent read the book, but its gotta be aliens, right?
gaikinger - 6/26/2013, 12:35 PM
very different from the book so far as characters go. if it all ends like it did in the book i think it will be much more satisfying than that horrible Lost ending. So far its just OK for me.
eyesore - 6/26/2013, 1:30 PM
Im pretty sure they are going to take a different path to an end than the book. Specially if it gets good ratings continually, they would want to drag it out a bit. The book wasn't so much about how it ended as much as it was about what takes place Under the Dome anyway.
BlindJustice - 6/26/2013, 2:45 PM
The idea of a dome on a city was already done in The Simpsons movie...Thus proving the Simpsons have covered all story plots.

Meh, I may check it out since Defiance is on at 9pm and nothing else is on Monday nights.
AmazingFantasy - 6/26/2013, 9:59 PM
we all thought of the simpsons..
ANIMUS84 - 6/26/2013, 10:57 PM
