Awesome, just like the comics.
Nomis - 11/6/2013, 11:23 AM
Is he really tall or is Coulson really short?
SKOne - 11/6/2013, 11:24 AM
My guess is that she is the shifting leadership connection to the Winter Soldier movie.
NightForce - 11/6/2013, 11:27 AM
Probably both. And she's probably wearing heels also.
NightForce - 11/6/2013, 11:27 AM
RR51 - 11/6/2013, 11:31 AM
Does anyone genuinely like this show?
ckal - 11/6/2013, 11:34 AM
It does look like her.

Wonder if she will be as big of a [foo foo] as she is in the comics too.
Lozzy - 11/6/2013, 11:35 AM
I wouldn't mind if Victoria gave me hand.
Nomis - 11/6/2013, 11:36 AM
@ ArmoredAsgardian - More than likley.

@ R51 - I Do.

But I realize it's going through some "growing Pains" at the moment as most new shows do.
YeezusWept - 11/6/2013, 11:40 AM
Are you guys satisfied now? Jesus...
Bl00dwerK - 11/6/2013, 11:40 AM
I removed it from the series recordings on my DVR. Disappointing, to say the least...
ctsketch - 11/6/2013, 11:41 AM
The show has been getting better for me with each episode. The last one finally brought some emotion, I finally care about Fitzsimmons.
ctsketch - 11/6/2013, 11:42 AM
And wow, she looks just like her

StarkAnthony - 11/6/2013, 11:42 AM
I like the show, still room for improvement but so far it's gotten better each week. Last nights episode was great
wcwpoet - 11/6/2013, 11:43 AM
I'm loving this show, it's getting better with each episode. Last night's ep was great. Let the haters hate, truth is the show was already picked up for a full season and is till one of Abc's highest rated shows.
ruadh - 11/6/2013, 11:44 AM

Awesome prediction. Would be cool if she's the first character to cross over from the small screen into the films.

I'm also wondering if she'll end up being what Maria Hill was to TOny Stark, since I'm suspecting (in that nerd-wishful thinking way) that he'll take over as Director of SHIELD at the very end of WS. He retired as Iron Man, but he saved the President...wouldn't be a stretch for them to award him that position.
ctsketch - 11/6/2013, 11:47 AM

They wouldn't make someone who doesn't even work for SHIELD(and who disrespects and hacks shield) director of SHIELD. It's more likely Maria Hill would take over as she has many times in the comics.

"Does anyone genuinely like this show?"

I kinda enjoyed it in the beginning, thinking it was a little goofy and kinda fun, but last night was a real game changer for me. The characters got way more fleshed out, and for me at least, I mean all five of them, even May. It's actually gelling relatively well, and after only 6 episodes it's a bit of a feat.

For me, the characters ARE the show. And getting me more interested in them last night was a huge step towards really enjoying the show as a whole.

ruadh - 11/6/2013, 11:50 AM

I see your point, but he's also someone with a long history with the military and government. And in the comics, there was a period where he actually did become Director of SHIELD. He was then replaced by Norman Osborn (the person Hand actually acted as second to), whom I feel has even less place leading a spy organization.
jlabatman - 11/6/2013, 11:51 AM
Really not familiar with her character in comics! Is she important at all?
Nomis - 11/6/2013, 11:53 AM
@ ctsketch - Wow. seeing that drawing show that's this was good casting
GodzillaKart - 11/6/2013, 11:54 AM
The show has improved...and last nights episode actually made me care about the characters a bit...but, man, I do not like the guy who plays Ward.
Ineedrevelation - 11/6/2013, 11:54 AM
This show... is just... the worst
ruadh - 11/6/2013, 11:55 AM

I don't know anything about her outside of the Dark Reign plot. WHen Norman Osborn (a reformed Green Goblin) took over as Director of SHIELD, Hand was his second in command, acting like his Maria Hill. She is probably the one person who stayed connected to the Dark Avengers the entire time who wasn't REALLY guilty of anything bad. She did a lot of "following orders", but I don't think she really hurt anyone or broke laws, etc. She also worked to keep Osborn straight, and not going Goblin.
jlabatman - 11/6/2013, 11:58 AM
@ruadh Ahhh ok, so nothing significant then! Appreciate it!
Nomis - 11/6/2013, 11:58 AM
@Gfart - Who's that in you new avatar?
ruadh - 11/6/2013, 12:01 PM

Well...VERY significant for SHIELD.
siggisuperman - 11/6/2013, 12:02 PM
she looks exactly like the comics, but I would think that on shield salary she could afford a nicer suit.
ruadh - 11/6/2013, 12:03 PM
Nah, SHIELD spends all their money on gadgets and airships.
jasonicus - 11/6/2013, 12:10 PM
That's awesome.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 11/6/2013, 12:10 PM
Cool, they kept the hair. I keep trying to get the missus to add colors to her hair, but nooo. "I don't wanna look weird." Too late, I'm already standing next to you.

And I genuinely like this show, for what it's worth. But I'm a longtime Whedon and marvel fan, so it'd have to really suck for me not to like it. I don't understand the fanboy hate on this site, though. Most of the complaints seem to be "There's no characters from the comics," which is not a valid criticism. You know what other shows didn't have Marvel comics characters in them? ALMOST EVERY OTHER FVCKING TV SHOW EVER. You might as well say "Seinfeld sucks. Where are the superhero cameos?" If you don't like the show, fine. I admit it's had a rocky start and I'm still not convinced the producers have a good idea of where they're going, and there are plenty of particular issues I could complain about, especially about how all the characters are so obviously designed to fill slots on some "Characters we need on this type of show" checklist and are only now starting to develop into actual people the audience might care about. But I'd still rather watch Agents Of SHIELD rather than Arrow, which is just the usual CW who's-sleeping-with-who soap opera bullshit with the occasional DC Comics reference tossed in to keep the fanboys paying attention. The action sequences are pretty good, though, I'll admit. If somebody could just cut together all the what-happened-on-the-island flashbacks I'd totally watch that show. But comparing Arrow and SHIELD is relly apples and oranges.
sikwon - 11/6/2013, 12:11 PM
The Winter Soldier is going to change everything, including AoS. If the World Org. were to use Tonys tek to create Ultron I could absolutely see him taking over Shield then laying the work for Civil Ware. In 4 years there will be PLENTY of powered characters.
charlie2094 - 11/6/2013, 12:11 PM
The last episode was actually pretty great! Glad it's improving, nice to see all the character work they done, especially with Fitz-Simmons, Gemma....whatever they're called :P

Nice to see a comic character introduced, albeit a small one, hopefully we'll continue getting more here and there. Anyone expecting larger characters to show up are dreaming, no way Marvel would relegate any characters to TV, ruling (most likely) them out of a big screen film.
sikwon - 11/6/2013, 12:16 PM
And last night they used her firsg name ti help make the destinction between the 2 because the fitzsimmons thing is kind of dumb.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 11/6/2013, 12:16 PM
Wow, I could have composed that better. My old college professors would be ashamed.

So, the name Saffron Burrows sounds really familiar, but not the ace of that actress up there. maybe it's the glasses. Has anyone in real life ever had the last name Hand?
gaikinger - 11/6/2013, 12:23 PM
Saffron Burrows is always good.
GodzillaKart - 11/6/2013, 12:27 PM
@Nomis: That, my friend, is Sir Graves Ghastly. When I was a kid he hosted a Saturday afternoon monster movie show on a local tv station here in Detroit. It was great. Half way through the movie he would break and show drawing of monsters that kids had sent in.

CherryBomb - 11/6/2013, 12:33 PM
She looks just like her and her tall height just adds to her intimidation factor.
RexDartEskimoSpy - 11/6/2013, 12:34 PM
Here's the thing with Fitzsimmons. I'm pretty sure it started as one of those Whedony things where they thought "We need to have a wacky science genius who gets us out writing corners, and provides exposition and comic relief (the typical Q from 007), but it's crazy how so many movies and TV shows have that one character who a supergenius at every aspect of science." So somebody suggested, "What about two characters who specialize in different fields but are so otherwise identical that they might as well be one person? And then we hang a lantern on our cleverness by giving them a cutesy name and having the other characters not even be able to tell them apart, let alone the audience." And then someone else suggested that they make one male and one female, and both young and attractive, so that there can be more of that awkward "Are they brother and sister or did they used to fvck and broke up and now they have to work together?" weird sexual tension that Joss loves. That's they thought process that I imagine brough FitzSimmons into existence. And then looked for actors with cute British accents to help reinforce that SHIELD is a multinational organization.

And then I fell in love with Elizabeth Henstridge. And Chloe Bennett. Oh, the slashfic in my head...
Baf - 11/6/2013, 12:58 PM
Everyone who likes this show says it gets better with each episode. Does that mean it was meh when it first came out and now it's good? Was it good when it came out and now it's great? Or is the show just getting tiny bits better each week and still is not that great? Man, supporters of this show are good campaigners. No one can say it's good, just getting better. No one admits it sucks, just getting better. I have to say, I admire the loyalty. Sort of like lemmings.
