Hopefully they can help Marvel get their animation department together because right now the stuff they are producing is a mess.

But WHY start with 'Big Hero Six' and not a more recognizable name?

Are we finally going to get a decent marvel animated movie(DC Animation Rules the Roost)..i'm a marvel fanboy and that last ironman/hulk movie was fvcking horrible...Most of their animation has been Meh to suck....The only truly good ones are the pair of "hulk vs" movies..
SageMode - 12/31/2013, 9:31 AM
I hope this movie doesn't have humor in it...........
Gibman - 12/31/2013, 9:33 AM
This seems like a great fit for Marvel and Disney, Big Hero 6 is the perfect medium for Disney family fun and a Marvel comic book adaptation. I think there next project should be Power Pack, that'd be cool to see
Dandy - 12/31/2013, 9:34 AM
The concept artwork and test footage that was shown was AMAZING!!!!! Also Disney Animation Studios is making it and they are the main studio that have churned out all the "classics".

I can't wait to see what they are going to do with property.
ThePowerCosmic - 12/31/2013, 9:34 AM

Ha ha! Good one.

Marvel should really start working on there animated stuff. They seem like they don't even care since EMH. They really have a chance to catch up to DC in that category. I mean they are neck and neck in the comic place, winning in movies as of now. but they need to at least look respectable in Animated stuff.
McNyagano - 12/31/2013, 9:48 AM
Yep if this is another comedy from Marvel, I ain't watching. [frick] you Disney.
gac - 12/31/2013, 9:51 AM
@ Nomis, I believe this is the first creative partnership on an animated film between Disney and Marvel. I think choosing a lesser known property is a way of testing the waters. In the event it doesn't work or it's a disaster, it'll be with a property that not many people know. If it's a huge success then everyone wins and you can begin plans on higher profile properties.....that'd be my guess anyway.

Usually these CG animated movies take between 3 to 4 years to produce for them to be high quality. Its a little concerning that only until now it has directors and its coming out in 11 months.

Has anyone read the comics?
Nomis - 12/31/2013, 9:59 AM
@ dailycomicsfix - I hope so.

Gibman mentioned Power Pack, I also think an animated movie about them that would fit well with Disney family projects as well as being a bigger name with comic book fans.

WB/DC absolutely dominate the animated feature market. Marvel really needs to pay more attention there. Its night and day in comparison. In fact, it's so glaring that Marvel is likely avoiding competition by marketing and creating to a much younger audience than WB/DC. Apart from Planet Hulk and Hulk vs. WB/DC has wiped the floor with Marvel.

I'm really excited for this one actually! I'd really like to see more stereoscopic 3D Marvel based films. Tell me a animated universe wouldn't be awesome!
InfiniteMonkey - 12/31/2013, 10:01 AM
Bloke named Hiro Hamada, I can't wait to see what kind of excuse they'll have when they put in a Caucasian for this bit. LOL
gac - 12/31/2013, 10:03 AM
@Nomis, me too. Disney, first and foremost is a character driven animation house. Hopefully Disney will exploit all the marvel characters they can and bring us amazing (true to character), high quality animated features. Power pack would be really cool too!
AlphaDean - 12/31/2013, 10:16 AM
Basically this is the water test... After this Power Pack, Rom the Space Knight and Micronauts
CaptainObvious - 12/31/2013, 10:23 AM
I don't have a problem with comedy. What I do have a problem with is undercutting the drama to force in comedy.
aRandomSinisterClone - 12/31/2013, 10:34 AM
" sushi chef Wasabi " WOW, so Disney is still that racist huh?
Donekin - 12/31/2013, 10:37 AM
Whatever. I'm fine with it if Marvel has to give Disney some b-characters to make child friendly cartoons, so long as they keep making quality live action flicks for real comic fans.
TelaVizion - 12/31/2013, 10:50 AM
I thought this was gonna be a dvd release.
LexHairFight - 12/31/2013, 11:29 AM
John lasseter overseeing a cbm is great news. A Feige/Lasseter partnership would be amazing.

@ Almight

They've been working on the modeling and design for a few years. There's even test footage. Hall has been the director since day 1. He even pitched the movie to Lasseter. Williams was just added as a second director. Plus Quesada and Laseter have been involved so not a lot of worries there.
SnapperCarr - 12/31/2013, 11:59 AM
There is a lot of potential in this, so I hope it turns out well.
SnapperCarr - 12/31/2013, 12:03 PM
@InfiniteMonkey They already changed the name from Hiro Takachiho (comics) to Hiro Hamada.

@aRandomSinisterClone In the actual comics, the guy's name is Wasabi No-Ginger. So Disney didn't actually do it this time.

SnapperCarr - 12/31/2013, 12:06 PM
I think everybody is going to be taken by surprise by how good this movie turns out.

AGoodHonestMan - 12/31/2013, 12:22 PM
What I read and heard about this movie has gotten me really excited for the film. It will rule!
OnePunchBaldy - 12/31/2013, 1:50 PM
I just want The Incredibles 2 already. But from the looks of it now, we won't get one.
mgeoff88 - 12/31/2013, 8:23 PM
I almost forgot about this movie. Glad to hear Big Hero 6 has directors now.
MightyZeus - 12/31/2013, 10:24 PM
I'm looking forward to this movie. It seems like it's going to be amazing.
