With the, almost confirmed, rumor that Avengers: Earth Mightiest Heroes will be cancelled after the current second season, outraged fans have started online campaigning against Marvel's imminent move. In fact online petitions and facebook pages have started to appear online, recently, calling all fans to unite and show their support for the highly successful Avengers show.

First is a facebook page titled "Renew avegenrs EMH"

The second is a petition whwre fans are asking Jeph Loeb not to cancel the show and leave it's story arc based episodes intact

Fans have also expressed their disappointment throughout many message boards. Just to quote a few of many users, below is a sample of what the general consensus is regarding the rumor:

From User Tonis from Comic vine: " so they're going to take the show that doesn't suck and replace it with one like a show that does suck. Those decision making guys are just geniuses when it comes to making the worst possible choices. It's a shame, Avengers & Young Justice are two of the most impressive cartoons to come out in a long time, I guess now I'll just look forward to Young Justice."

From user Danhimself on comicvine: " if it's true then that really sucks on Marvel's part...why not just make a Spider-man show that is inline with EMH????"

Oberon Sexton from superhrohype forums: " Loeb, you wrote some great Batman stories back in the hey day, but for the last 6 or 7 years you've consistently destroyed the things I love. Please just retire in shame."

Mister Muck from " NOOOO! I really hope this isn't true. EMH is, in my opinion, the most well-made Marvel tv show of all time. I don't WANT another show like Ultimate Spider-Man, goddangit! If anything, cancel Ultimate and bring back Spectacular!"

JDASHMAJ from Projectcovo: " so basically they want to cancel a successful Avengers series to make a childish Ultimate Spiderman like Avengers smh this is what happens when Disney takes over stuff."

Deranged Midget from Comicvine:  "Ok... I apologize to everyone in advance but Marvel F#*%^ED UP A F*#@&%(@*%GAIN! Words cannot describe the anger that is coursing through me right now. First they cancel my favourite super-hero show of all goddamn time and now THEY DO THIS SH!T!?!? And worst of all... IN FAVOUR FOR ULTIMATE SPIDER-MAN! GOD F%!&*!&^@ DAMN IT! "

These were just a sample for the general reaction fans are expressing through the various online boards. Check the sources of the quotes from more hate towards Marvel and Jeph Loeb for, possibly, Cancelling one of the best, most successful, animation series in recent years.

The show is doing well both critically and financially from what I've read... why in the [frick] fix what isn't broken?

I don't know if this decision begins and ends with Loeb, though if it did it would not surprise me. He's notorious for flipping the fans a big fat middle finger in favour of what HE'D prefer.
BANE5000 - 5/2/2012, 4:11 AM
Ok this doesnt make sense at all...I enjoy the show and love where the series has gone so far and where its going with the " Secret Invasion " storyline. Why would they wanna cancel such a good show and keep Ultimate Spider-Man on ?. I tried watching it the other day, and just couldnt get into it much, what with the lil goofy gags and bickering the characters did through most of the episode. EMH still has a far ways to go and many more storylines to get into, why cut it off so soon Marvel?
mithiama - 5/2/2012, 4:17 AM
i was bummed abt this initially but im okay with it now as long as they get animation similar to ultimate spiderman plus i dont know if u guys read the ultimate spiderman episode guide but alot of the episodes are derived from good comic book storylines and its good that u dont need to watch every single episode to get the big story

" Loeb, you wrote some great Batman stories back in the hey day, but for the last 6 or 7 years you've consistently destroyed the things I love. Please just retire in shame."

Sums up exactly what I have to say.
MrDuck - 5/2/2012, 5:05 AM
Yeah, really Disney and Loeb need to realize that kids have brains too and they appreciate the more sophisticated well written styles of shows like young justice or avengers EMH
AutobotCommander84 - 5/2/2012, 5:17 AM
I was only eight or nine years old when Spectacular came out and well, for a kid, I understood the goddamn thing! This is [frick] beyond belief.
marvel72 - 5/2/2012, 5:20 AM
don't cancel the avengers cancel ultimate spider-man.
marvelstudios - 5/2/2012, 5:25 AM
NO! i just started watching the first season
redsonjustin - 5/2/2012, 5:46 AM
This is a load of crap!
JohnnyKrypton - 5/2/2012, 6:20 AM
Loeb, you wrote some derivative, overrated, out-of-charcater Batman stories back in the hey day, but in the last 6 or 7 years you wrote the best Hulk in decades.

Shame about EMH, though. I kinda dig the show.

thalidomide - 5/2/2012, 6:29 AM
Cancel Ultimate Spidey, A:EMH is amazing.
cyclopstb - 5/2/2012, 7:02 AM
First they disappointed the fans when they canceled Wolverine and the X-Men, now this ?

When will these people ever wake the hell up ?
PsyGuy - 5/2/2012, 7:14 AM
I Just don't like the animation. AT ALL.

Please, Marvel, make an Avengers show with animation on the same level as Young Justice or Legend of Korra!! Your characters deserve the best!!
HulkPool - 5/2/2012, 7:36 AM
They are a$$holes to cancel the best marvel show ever !!!
RealDCGuy - 5/2/2012, 7:49 AM
They should fire loeb and replace him with someone who isnt senile and stupid.
superotherside - 5/2/2012, 7:51 AM
They shouldn't cancel EMH. They should cancel Ultimate Spider-man and make a New Avengers show in the same universe as EMH, and make a new X-men show like Wolverine and the X-men.
Spidey91 - 5/2/2012, 8:03 AM
if this show is cancelled,I will cry :(
Avengers EMH is mature,is succesfull,is funny,is action packed,awesome stories,awesome characters,I personally love the character design...and they wanna cancel it,f*cking great! hey MARVEL/DISNEY/Loeb or whatever,stop f*cking with your own sh*t!
Rulk - 5/2/2012, 8:07 AM
There is a good chance this decision is being made above Loeb. Avengers EMH is being cancelled not due to lack of viewers, but because Disney wants an Avengers catoon produced from their prodution house. It’s more profitable that way. It’s the same principle why Marvel stopped licensing their characters and started making their own movies. More profitable. So there will be another Avengers cartoon.. it just can’t be EMH.
neonhero - 5/2/2012, 8:13 AM
I agree with Grif (did I just say that?). As long as the series has a good conclusion it'll be ok. I'd prefer it to continue, but nothing's worse than leaving the story unresolved, like Wolverine and The X-Men did.
Action - 5/2/2012, 8:22 AM
Marvel + Disney=shitty comic book cartoons
Rulk - 5/2/2012, 8:32 AM
@ XaviersFinest - If you had a clue you would realize IGN, CBR, iFanboy has been highly praising and recommending Jeff Parker's Red Hulk comic for over a year now. But again, why listen to me right? The adolescent voices in your head must be so much more interesting... sheesh
Rulk - 5/2/2012, 8:52 AM
Hard not to get "pissy" after you commented "Very logical, though Red Hulk is such garbage so I dont really care what you have to say."

But a truce is fine with me... just plan on skipping Avengers EMH Episode "Code Red" coming this August.. it features the Red Hulk! ;)

Take it easy
BlueMex - 5/2/2012, 9:07 AM
Never liked the animation of this show .. but the stories are very good!
SpiderFrank4 - 5/2/2012, 9:25 AM
If they do cancel this show, they will suffer the consequences and hopefully realise their mistake pretty quickly
Cosmic1 - 5/2/2012, 11:37 AM
Disney burned down all their own characters so now they are looking to do that with Marvel's and when Marvel's are exhausted they will buy another franchise to ruin. When Disney acquired Marvel it was so they could reconnect with the young male audience, that they had lost. When I was a kid no super hero cartoons were quite as corny as the ultimate spider-man. I still enjoy the marvel super hero cartoons from the 60's, but some stuff from the 70's and 80's is unbearable to watch at this age, but my daughter still enjoys them. Though it would be nice for Disney to recognize marvel has life long fans of all ages and more mature cartoons are still relevant. Darkwing Duck was a more serious cartoon than the ultimate spider-man is. I wouldn't be surprised if the whole ultimate universe was invented to eventually do away with the original comics a sneaky way of pulling a new 52, over the years with a long term plan to do so. The arching story lines are what make this a fun show to watch, kinda like Bullwinkle and Rocky.
BrotherStarkofMABMindz - 5/2/2012, 12:17 PM
We need a petition for this!
StarSpangledBruce - 5/2/2012, 3:21 PM
@PatientZero They (I think you mean Loeb) never said that there were big plans for a third season, only that they had "big plans".

But I agree about one thing, this isn't news.
Phlegmbot - 5/2/2012, 4:40 PM
This might be the very first time I agree w/everyone. I was really wary of EMH at first -- several of the voices are poorly cast and it has possibly the worst opening credits theme song since the 1990s "Spider-Blagghghg" song -- but, damn, the writing is smart, tight, and really, really strong. The character designs are beautiful too.

Ultimate Spidey is a train wreck. What an ill-conceived series in every respect.
xXkryptoniteXx - 5/2/2012, 7:28 PM
Wow wolverine an the xmen was a fantastic show and got cancelled in favour of EMH and because Disney acquired marvel. Now EMH is now being cancelled for spiderman for kids, right move on getting money and investing on the younger audience. Marvel learn from WB's justice league unlimited. Give the audience a better story and EMH is the right show for it, even the xmen was as well. Spiderman? Seriously???

greenlanternsector2814 - 5/3/2012, 7:38 PM
I get what they're trying to do. They want to attract a younger audience and some of the stories they are showing are for the fanboys. I have a 4 and 6 year old who loves Ultimate Spider-Man so if they kept both, that would work. Just leave one as a campy kids show and the other for the fanboys.
Luther - 5/4/2012, 11:57 AM
Oh wow..Marvel's animation department must be ran by idiots. They're about to go the Wolverine and The X-Men route...AGAIN. SMH..getting rid of their good shows to replace with mediocre ones, mainly aimed towards the rest of their tweenage Disney viewers.

On their defense..we're adults, wanting to watch cartoons. They can easily say "Hey..this shit aint for you anyway". Sucks.
babykhris - 5/4/2012, 12:47 PM
Before all of you get mad let me discuss some FACTS that no one is mentioning.

Marvel has started their own Marvel Animation Studios in Glendale. The past 4-5 Marvel animated shows have been co-productions with other companies most notably Film Roman.

Now if you know anything about Film Roman. It's own by Starz, who have been trying to unload the company for a year. So severing ties with Film Roman makes sense. What happens if Film Roman gets sold where does that leave Marvel Animation? That's the reason Marvel has put the DTVs on hold.

Marvel cancelled Spectacular Spidey to get rights back from Sony. Wolvie & X-Men severed ties with it's partners. Disney likes everything in-house.
DM725 - 5/14/2012, 9:46 PM
Who cares if they started their own animation studios. Then they should just start season 3 in house where season 2 leaves off. There is no reason to retool and remake an awesome show.
