A batch of new pictures from DC Animation's next project, Superman Vs. The Elite, have found their way online. Featuring a new look at Superman/Clark Kent, Lois Lane and the 'Elite', check them out after the jump.

The Elite, a team of super-powered antiheroes, is renowned for killing their enemies. Despite the acclaim and approval the Elite enjoy, Superman knows they are in the wrong, creating more harm than good by their methods. Tensions between them finally culminate in a mass showdown on Jupiter’s moons, when Superman is forced to prove that violence is never a positive.

The below pictures are apparently from the sneak peek at the film included in the bonus features for Justice League: Doom, which hits stores tomorrow. Check them out below:

Starring George Newbern as Superman and Pauley Perretteice as Lois Lane, Superman Vs. The Elite is set to hit DVD, Blu-Ray, On Demmand and Digital Download this summer.

I have never read the comic but of what i've eard, it seems cool. The artwork seems cool but not the best.
AC1 - 2/27/2012, 8:42 AM
Superman looks like Schwarzenneger, Lois looks Asian, and the Elite just look ridiculous... just an observation
Spidey91 - 2/27/2012, 8:45 AM
reminds me of the style of "The Batman" cartoon
Jolt17 - 2/27/2012, 8:51 AM
They look good to me, I really like the unique style. My only concern regarding this movie is that I'm afraid it will be another short one, as What's So Funny About Truth, Justice, and American Way? was pretty short, too. (Well, it was only 1 issue!) The story's pretty great, though, so I hope they won't leave any part out in this movie.
ellispart3 - 2/27/2012, 8:52 AM
reminds me of xtreme ghostbusters
ThaMessenger07 - 2/27/2012, 8:54 AM
The art style is very easy to animate. If they put the effort it could easily have the best animation of any DC film.

Arminies, They make the upper-body much larger to add emphasis to his physical strength. Almost any comic artists does the same, the upper body is rarely in proportion with the lower body. Superman is generally drawn proportionate to make him seem well rounded as his Power-set is very well rounded. These animated movies make his strength his primary power, flight second, & Speed third with everything else following as a kind of backup power. Hence, the large Torso and small legs.
OtakuPapi - 2/27/2012, 8:55 AM
love Lois/Clark Kent not so much Supes and The Elite looks like Marvel Rejects
niknik - 2/27/2012, 9:01 AM
Agreed also. That character design is about as awful as one could imagine. He has the build of a super ape, not a super man. The top half and the bottom half are so out of whack from each other it's comical and I don't believe that was their intent. It's just plain bad. I will not be spending one penny on this.

Here's hoping Disney buys DC next. At least they know proper character design and animation.
Gutts81 - 2/27/2012, 9:03 AM
@ Rokker For fu-ck-ing real! But here they are praising the same thing they would destroy.
GUNGRAVE1 - 2/27/2012, 9:04 AM
The art not good like to see some good anime art for once.
MassExecutions - 2/27/2012, 9:07 AM
Is this from the same animators that did those Hellboy movies?
rbfn04 - 2/27/2012, 9:12 AM
At least it's classic Supes, not armour wearing or Ultraman looking Supes...
Marxman12 - 2/27/2012, 9:12 AM
I'm not liking the art work at all. It is such a contrast to the supposedly dark theme and storyline. This may be the first DC Animated Film that I don't buy. And whatever happened to their Animated shorts? Those are usually very good. I would love to see The Flash, at least, get a cool short.
mbomb22 - 2/27/2012, 9:41 AM
why does it look like Supermans muscles could in no way make Clarks suit fit the way it does? his shoulders arent as wide and his biceps look much smaller, and his chest isntt as broad as supermans...its not a consistent look
BlueMex - 2/27/2012, 9:45 AM
theangrytroll - 2/27/2012, 9:52 AM
The art is awful, but at least they're using the REAL Superman costume.
LCage2814 - 2/27/2012, 10:02 AM
Are the Elite suppose to be Authority knock offs?
rbfn04 - 2/27/2012, 10:04 AM
@Pux show me a good design without the trunks and maybe I'll agree with you
plasticman - 2/27/2012, 10:05 AM
@ theangrytroll- at least it looks better than scarface Superman in Superman:Doomsday. I would have to say that is the worst ol' Kal El has ever looked.
ThePhantom1 - 2/27/2012, 10:17 AM
honestly I think the face of Superman/Clark Kest looks like leftover roadkill
Oxbow - 2/27/2012, 10:17 AM
I would NOT enjoy watching this if this is the style they're going with. it's like they want market to the biggest common denominator by keeping a great story but telling it in an infantile way

I must say, this is a great design though...

Dedpool - 2/27/2012, 10:18 AM
This doesn't look neraly as bad as I thought. It's got Doug Mahnke's signature angles and larger than life builds, and his character designs for the most part. I really look forward to this. Great story in the comics!!!

@LCage2814- In a manner of speaking yes. They are chracters that definitely took things to that extreme, however unlike in the Authority, they aren't analogs of other characters like the "Avengers" knockoffs they fought.
cjkalel - 2/27/2012, 10:34 AM
Looks sweet can't wait like the men in black cartoon
hoodedjester - 2/27/2012, 10:34 AM
haha He looks like Jonny Bravo!!!

Big chest - check
Big arms - check
Big chin - check
short little legs - check
StrangerX - 2/27/2012, 10:37 AM
The plot to this movie does not excite me.
SuperFrost - 2/27/2012, 10:51 AM
Yeah i'm not a fan of the art work, he looks like a gorilla in a cape. Fail
HavocPrime - 2/27/2012, 11:12 AM
God DC are annoying with there animated and feature films, they seriously have no faith in any other franchise of theres
Phlegmbot - 2/27/2012, 11:27 AM
To everyone bitching about the character designs (what you all call "the art"): You should be APPLAUDING DC animation for coming up w/some designs which -- finally -- are not stripped-down derivative versions of Bruce Timm's work on the old Batman series (a la the crappy box-like designs seen in JL: Doom).

And, btw, the reason ALL the heroes -- not just Supes -- have skinny legs is that, in animation, if you give a character thick legs AND a thick upper body, they don't look as regal, as majestic...or as tall. There's a certain effect being created there.

I don't remember any of you complaining about this guy's legs (or more specifically, calves, ankles and feet so small they couldn't carry a 12-y-o Girl Scout around):

And Mr. I, isn't just wide, his torso's THICK too.

It's superheroes in animation and a style that works.
AnthonyJacobs - 2/27/2012, 11:39 AM
WOOWW!!!I won't bother with this one.
comicbookjerk - 2/27/2012, 11:50 AM
Wow My shit looks better when it comes out of my ass green! This is some terrrible animation

Uhhhg BRUCE TIMMS becoming George Lucas!
maskman0 - 2/27/2012, 11:50 AM
Bruce Timm set animation style back 100 years. Batman TAS was great. Don't make everything look like it. It's been almost 20 years, WB.
SunfireUrA55 - 2/27/2012, 11:58 AM
Stopped buying Supes/Bats animated movies A LONG time ago until they start hashing out other Characters! How many more Bats/Supes will they continue to produce?

EVRYONE please stop supporting these idiot producers already!
BIGBMH - 2/27/2012, 12:00 PM
Not bad, but I don't really like the Superman/Clark design. I prefer a leaner look.
Jer3miah - 2/27/2012, 12:01 PM
Ugh. ugly-ass drawings. Damn artists with that disproportion shit on the body style. So FAIL.
blackpantherfan - 2/27/2012, 12:45 PM
i like the look. supes looks like he's about to knock a mother[frick]er though a brick wall.
skullboy - 2/27/2012, 12:48 PM
A shame this storyline has nothing to do with the new DCU. Damn you DC...
Diomedes - 2/27/2012, 12:59 PM
what kind of animation is this??? save this trash for the kids.. damnit why does every cartoon seem to be heading down this sad poofy style of animation what happened to the realistic animations of the nineties???
113 - 2/27/2012, 1:38 PM
I don't like the animation, too childish.

The best animation is whoever does Young Justice and the new DOOM animated movie. The characters in that are more or less drawn "realistically" in terms of proportions.
valeriesghost - 2/27/2012, 2:45 PM
I like the look they're working with. Supes looks good, Lois looks good.
GLprime2814 - 2/27/2012, 3:32 PM
Disney animation? The elite story was kinda dark, this looks like a kids movie.
