Press Release: DC NATION Returning To Cartoon Network On January 5th

After a three-month hiatus, Cartoon Network announce that DC Nation will be returning next month with new episodes for Green Lantern: TAS and Young Justice: Invasion airing on January 5th. Hit the jump to read the full press release.

Cartoon Network revs up its Saturday morning slate with new episodes during its hit and beloved action block, including Ben 10 Omniverse, Star Wars: The Clone Wars and DC Nation beginning January 5th. Cartoon Network Studios’ original series, Ben 10 Omniverse kicks-off the Saturday morning line-up at 9 a.m. (ET, PT) with guest star Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation), followed by the special 100th episode of Star Wars: The Clone Wars at 9:30 a.m. (ET, PT). The highly-anticipated return of DC Nation rounds out the morning at 10 a.m. (ET, PT) featuring all-new content, including episodes of Green Lantern: The Animated Series, Young Justice: Invasion and all-new animated shorts featuring characters from the DC Comics universe.

Ben 10 Omniverse welcomes Aziz Ansari (Parks and Recreation) as he makes his Omniverse debut as Billy Billions, Ben’s childhood rival, in the episode “Arrested Development.” Ben and Rook, animation’s newest odd couple, see their troubles grow as they are literally downsized when Billy Billions traps them in their own pre-pubescent bodies. The pint-sized heroes face giant challenges and must stop the evil Robots from Dimension 12 and save Bellwood.

Season five of Lucasfilm Animation’s Star Wars: The Clone Wars ushers in the 100th episode of the series, “Missing in Action.” In a nearly vacant town on a strange planet, the intrepid members of D-Squad discover Gregor, a clone commando who has lost his memory, and is toiling away as a dishwasher. The all-droid squad and their gruff leader must help Gregor regain his memory so they can steal a heavily guarded shuttle and return to the Republic.

Warner Bros. Animation’s DC Nation programming block comes soaring back, bringing action from the pages of DC Comics to the television screens of comic book fans of all ages. Green Lantern: The Animated Series goes retro-futuristic when it starts the block with the episode “Steam Lantern.” After being blasted by the Anti-Monitor, Hal finds himself in a steampunk world. Young Justice: Invasion answers lingering questions from the past season with “Before the Dawn,” when Blue Beetle, Miss Martian and the team go on a covert mission to rescue some of their own, uncovering shocking secrets and devastating truths. In between episodes, fans will enjoy all-new DC animated shorts starring some of their favorite DC Comics characters.

It's about time!!! Can't wait!

@LEVITIKUZ: Last I heard, they were planning on premiering it sometime in early 2013. I'd be surprised if that's still the plan though, since we've only seen that one teaser and a few character images.

Stupid dumb cartoon network execs. Should have never removed 2 of the best series on television in the first place.

The cg Batman, I will have to see an episode before i decide if i like. From the looks of it I really not looking forward to it.
Greenlantern1417 - 12/14/2012, 9:55 AM
Great but we've already seen those episodes. Can we please get new ones? Also I'm not that excited about this new Batman. We'll see.
ClarkFarley2012 - 12/14/2012, 10:18 AM
Star Wars The Clone Wars has sucked this season to me.
DC4everLantern - 12/14/2012, 10:22 AM

I'd totally love it if DC (Warner Bros) just stuck to Animated Series, Animated Movies and TV shows.

Bring back Batman: TAS, Superman: TAS, Batman Beyond, Static Shock, Zeta Project, Teen Titans (Not Go!) all of course with newer storylines that follow 52.

I'd be [frick]ing happy.

OH and of course, if they stopped YJ, I'm pretty sure I'd blow up the universe.
animeex - 12/14/2012, 10:30 AM

OtakuPapi - 12/14/2012, 10:49 AM
3 months, it just doesnt feel that long. Thank Goodness now if we can get this Marvel Block going
Redhood2k10 - 12/14/2012, 11:06 AM
Cartoon Network crashed the mode when they left us with that GL cliffhanger, i dropped my OJ that morning and shattered glass when i saw Hal "die" thanks to Monty.
ChillBill66 - 12/14/2012, 11:09 AM
@DCNation214 I am a hardcore Marvel fan but I agree with you 100%. I love Young Justice just as much as I used to love Avengers: EMH. YJ is awesome!!!
MutantEquality - 12/14/2012, 11:14 AM
This is a total ASTER!!!

As long as nobody CRASHES THE MODE I'll be totally WHELMED.

Happy11 - 12/14/2012, 11:33 AM
The way they have treated the viewers of this show is out of order hopefully they will get an uninterrupted run when it starts.
MutantEquality - 12/14/2012, 11:40 AM
Isn't YJ cancelled for good after this last run? I swear it only has a handful left and that's why they delayed it so long. So YJ's last episodes would be started with the rest of DC Nation. Please someone prove me wrong.
Temple - 12/14/2012, 11:43 AM
They should bring back teen titians.
hunter559 - 12/14/2012, 12:17 PM
I really [frick]ing hate the higher ups at cartoon network. They are making it hard too maintain interest with all of these [frick]in breaks they are taking. I mean a summer break, sure I get it but after 4-5 months you bring it back for 2 episodes, it is scheduled for like 6-8, and pull it for no good reason. Grated they were so stupid doing this the 3rd episode was released online but still, it is getting old. I know it takes time to make and produce, and I'm fine with that, but the erratic airing schedule is only going to hurt the ratings in the long run and probably end up getting both shows cancelled.
JULEZ13 - 12/14/2012, 12:24 PM
Finally! Young Justice is returning soon! The only good thing to watch on a Saturday morning. The Green Lantern cartoon isn't bad either, I just hate the 3D Animations!

Young Justice has THE BEST art work of any DC cartoon, even Marvel for that matter (excluding the 90s shows). They should just draw ALL of their cartoons that way!

So sick of this 3D phenomenon. -_-
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 12/14/2012, 12:28 PM
So pissed I had to wait like 3 months.
SKOne - 12/14/2012, 12:53 PM
I managed to download Before the Dawn on Itunes the day after it was supposed to air so I will probably skip the episode. I still believe this press release should have included some form of apology for pre-empting the episodes without notice. I also am not looking forward to Batman unless it includes non Batman characters besides Katana because I really dislike the animation style.
Scooby - 12/14/2012, 1:02 PM
It was so weird that it suddenly was gone :( I was sad, glad to hear it's coming back :)

dezdigi - 12/14/2012, 1:06 PM
How many episodes do we get before they cut us off again?
DCfan89 - 12/14/2012, 1:20 PM
no, yj isnt cancelled after this. .......
Triptheorist - 12/14/2012, 1:31 PM
IDKwhatToChoose - 12/14/2012, 1:39 PM
Young Justice is awesomeness personified.
Dunejedi - 12/14/2012, 3:29 PM
A lengthy press release advertising shows we're already well aware of without a single sentence of explanation for why they were unceremoniously yanked from the schedule. I agree that Young Justice is easily one of the best comic-book animated shows out there, but until the execs at Cartoon Network start treating their viewers with more respect and consideration, I'll just continue to boycott their channel. I can download torrents of shows after they wrap. [frick] Cartoon Network. [frick] 'em in the neck.

PeterParker1991 - 12/14/2012, 5:23 PM
Finally. Clone Wars is ass this season. Darth Maul hasn't appeared since the premiere of the season and we're stuck with boring ass droid episodes. Fail. Need something else to watch on Saturday so I'm not bored to tears
Shadowmaster35 - 12/14/2012, 8:56 PM
Freakin finally!! But that week's episodes will still be reruns for those of us who saw YJ and Lantern online the week it was suppose to come out.
