MARVEL'S Future Mapped Out Till 2028, Is That A Good Thing?

Its good..i wish they would totally share...It also quells any ideas of rights reverting. Inserting say FF into a long storyline (unless already pre-figured into equation) would be really hard with all the crossover...

I want "Secret Wars"...if you read it..its PERFECT from studio crossover...there is a ton of tension between spiderman, avengers, FF, and Xmen...

You can be like Disney/Marvel and have your whole Cinematic Universe mapped out for years or be like WB/DC who has restored to throwing crap against the wall hoping something other Batman sticks.

I rather be like Marvel.

Its a good idea. It keeps the MCU going at least for now.

I mean, what if they did get the rights back? They wouldn't do anything with it. When they got the Daredevil rights back, they planned a Netflix series for a reason. They knew fans wanted to see the character really badly, but they had no room to put him in their MCU lineup. So they made a TV Show with him. So if they got other rights back, they'd either:

1. Never use the characters
2. Make TV Shows with them
3. Mess up all their plans to fit in these new characters.

I think that's why they aren't trying to get the rights back. Remember when they wanted to get Galactus and Silver Surfer in exchange for Daredevil? It's because they are planning what they want to do and some characters don't fit into those plans. But maybe I'm wrong. We'll just need to wait until they announce more movies.

I'm sure in the 60's someone thought the spaghetti western genre would go on forever.
In the 80's they thought the brat pack were the stars of the future. Horror and one man army genres probably looked like they would be hot forever.

It's assuming quite a bit to think kids of today and the next few years will still want CBMs in 10-15 years.

@geekygurl Horror,sci-fi,action,drama,comedy,romance,martial arts ect ect...all had they're time in the spotlight but has never left. The cbm genre is here to stay it may fade in megs popularity but will still be here.

McN beat me to it, but as one who writes business plans, I can assure you that successful businesses know that they have to adapt to change on many different levels. You just don't stick with a plan if you have opportunities or threats that present themselves. You adapt and adjust your plan. Getting the rights back to Spidey, X-men and/or FF would definitely be an opportunity that they wouldn't squander away.

Not a fan of "the plan" but it's what should be expected. I mean I don't side one way or another with DC or Marvel, so no one jump on me when I make this statement. But I did absolutely love Nolan's Batman movies, but I was glad that it was only going to be 3. I would have loved for Snyder and company to leave batman out of the Man of Steel movie. I mean Disney knows what they are doing, I don't think they will necessarily run anything into the ground, but I like the idea of movies having a story arc, tell the story, and be done with it for a while. I love a show like Breaking Bad that can end at its best moment, instead of something like the x-files that just wouldn't quit (both had Vince Gilligan to blame for their success/meandering). Anyway just a thought, I've enjoyed the Marvel movies but at some point just tell your story and be done for a bit. I think Marvel has failed to create a cohesive story running through their universe, and have massively failed or misused villains (nolan did it as well with Bane). Red Skull was a waste as was the Mandarin. Loki worked, they should have centered the story there and spread it across the properties as they did in the Avengers and called it a day for a bit. But I guess you gotta keep something rolling as long as it's making money and making people happy. More power to them. It got me Daredevil back on screen, so I guess I'm not complaining to much.
