Amanda Righetti Playing 'Sharon Carter' In Captain America & The Avengers After All?

Amanda Righetti Playing 'Sharon Carter' In Captain America & The Avengers After All?

Revealing a few interesting tidbits regarding the teaser trailer, someone is also claiming to know who The Mentalist actress Amanda Righetti will be playing in The Avengers!

Over the weekend, we learned the latest cast member for Marvel's much-anticipated Captain America: The First Avenger film was The Mentalist actress Amanda Righetti. And we also found out that she'd be expanding her minor "SHIELD Agent" role in next summer's The Avengers. What we didn't know, however, was who the recognizable actress would be portraying, and whether or not it'd be from the comics. Well someone, via SHH, is claiming who that may be, offering the following:

• Amanda Righetti is in fact playing Sharon Carter. My friend gave me some details and said that at the end of Cap and Righetti/Sharon is there, and Cap mistakes her for Peggy. In The Avengers, Sharon will be there as a way for Steve to vent about Peggy.

• Also, I was told that a certain other actress is in fact cast as Carol Danvers. Its pretty exciting! I cant wait for the news to break out.

• Just a heads up guys, The Avengers teaser will be posted online in HD either on the 22nd or 23rd.

• Also, Hulk is in the teaser. When Thor throws mjolnir at the end its thrown at The Hulk. It just shows the back of his head though.

• Besides the obvious info on the trailer, take the "Sharon Carter" bit with a pinch of salt, until verification. But if it happens to be true, what do you think?

Marvel's The Avengers picks up when an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security. And Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. With director Joss Whedon at it's helm, and an ensemble cast including Chris Evans (Steve Rogers), Robert Downey Jr. (Tony Stark), Chris Hemsworth (Thor Odinson), Jeremy Renner (Clint Barton), Mark Ruffalo (Bruce Banner), Scarlett Johansson (Natasha Romanoff), Clark Gregg (Agt. Phil Coulson), Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury), with Tom Hiddleston (Loki Laufeyson), and Stellan Skarsgard (Professor Erik Selvig), the film releases worldwide May 4, 2012!

Thor Vs Hulk FTW don't give a shit if the story is absolute bollocks(which is unusual for me) but the throw down I've been waiting for ever on the big screen is finally going to happen. Even if its 2 mins, I would still be satisfied fan boy

PaulRom - 7/19/2011, 2:00 PM
Ah well, I was hoping for Hayley Atwell to play Sharon but that's alright. :P
And Ms. Marvel's in this movie for sure? YES!!!

Yvonne Strahovski would be perfect for the role.
PaulRom - 7/19/2011, 2:04 PM
And the trailer will be in HD this week? YES!!!!!! I was hoping that we wouldn't have to wait a full week (like what happened with TDKR).
TayDee - 7/19/2011, 2:09 PM
question, who would really win in a fight vs hulk & thor?
JonnyBrown06 - 7/19/2011, 2:24 PM
really want ms marvel in the film, like have her origins a wee sub plot through the film and shes ms marvel at the end
Coloso - 7/19/2011, 2:28 PM
Fantastic casting in my opinion for Sharon. I thought Marvel was gonna stick with Hayley since Peggy and Sharon look alike in the comics. When this news first broke it through me for a loop as I did not see that coming.
MovieTheaterLad - 7/19/2011, 2:39 PM
They should make Carol Danvers "Warbird" and not Ms. Marvel.

A) Ms. Marvel is, and always has been, a dumb name.
B) Ms. Marvel's normal costume is stupid.

Ohhhhhh, let it be so. I can't get enough of Amanda Righetti. Gorgeous, gorgeous, gorgeous, and a good actor, too.

Make Mine 'Manda!

The article pic of her on the mainpage looks a lot like Alisha Klass.
BorisSenna - 7/19/2011, 3:00 PM
The end over end Mjolnir-throw is awesome! Makes it look like a mallet or small axe would be truly thrown on the battlefield.

This is all great

Oh, so they're doing the whole Loki-Hulk thing.... meh.

I'm pretty sure it's just the team trying to recruit Hulk when he goes mad.

The Skrulls FTW!
CherryBomb - 7/19/2011, 3:20 PM
Yay! (: Hope there's some Righetti/Evans scenes in Avengers!
and I'm so happy Carol's gonna be in it :D

I always imagined Ali Larter as Carol.
so excited to see who they cast!

write33 - 7/19/2011, 3:21 PM

ass. you made me laugh outloud at my desk. :)
DCMarvelFreshman - 7/19/2011, 3:23 PM
No, thor throws it at his face, but we (the audience) sees it from the back of Hulk's head
Joker08 - 7/19/2011, 3:25 PM
I'm not sure how anyone could possibly mistake Amanda Righetti for Hayley Atwell...
capcyclopsftw - 7/19/2011, 3:25 PM
Amanda Righetti makes me drool uncontrollably. She's perfect.
CherryBomb - 7/19/2011, 3:28 PM
Carol will probably just look like this:

I don't really have a problem, her costume is way cheesey. But yeah, I can see her just being in a small role or as Maria Hills partner or something.
Jennn - 7/19/2011, 3:33 PM
eh, i'm not sold on Amanda Righetti as Sharon. we'll see.
CherryBomb - 7/19/2011, 3:42 PM
Why does she have to be so perfect looking!? - I'm jealous.

New Cap trailer #113
MikeZ - 7/19/2011, 4:15 PM
Amanda has a Bridget Regan thing going on, but she's not too thick (though Bridget has a great figure as well). Hey, good casting call, Marvel.

By the way, I've thought Kristanna Loken would make a great Ms. Marvel. She's 5'11", knows martial arts (not that Yvonne Strahovski doesn't), and packs a stronger vocal presence than Strahovski. And for the cynics, she's bisexual.

MikeZ - 7/19/2011, 4:16 PM
Crap, I can't re-edit my post. Here's another shot.

Coloso - 7/19/2011, 4:30 PM
She is a great choice, nice pic of her CherryBomb. She is so easy on the eye. Steve will be sad about Peggy but not for long! ;D
BorisSenna - 7/19/2011, 4:31 PM

MikeZ - 7/19/2011, 4:35 PM
@ BorisSenna

I'm worried there. The film should have had reviews by now a la Thor. And the Razzies will be all over the film like flies on turds.

And, yes, that's not an original metaphor, but work with me.
BorisSenna - 7/19/2011, 4:43 PM
I`m not allarmed, actually. The Village Voice ALWAYS hates comicbook movies. Pompous bastards. This is movie is actually gonna be awesome. The reviewer is crap. She actually never says what it is she hates so much about the film. The only true critique of the movie in her review is that it doesn`t have a stronger connection to historic events
superpooper - 7/19/2011, 4:44 PM
@Cherrybomb I second that. Ali Larter would make an awesome Ms Marvel.
BIGBMH - 7/19/2011, 4:46 PM
She's purdy.
Kabfire - 7/19/2011, 5:05 PM
Amber Heard for Carol!
captainbeta - 7/19/2011, 5:25 PM
Rachel Nichols for Carol. She has the look, body and has done work on Conan.
captainbeta - 7/19/2011, 5:26 PM
CherryBomb - 7/19/2011, 5:46 PM

@RoadDogXXIV Kristana Loken would be perfect!

@Coloso No problem! (:
CherryBomb - 7/19/2011, 5:48 PM
Diora Baird would 100% be my next choice!
She has an amazing body, good assets and is so pretty.

FireKnightRises - 7/19/2011, 6:26 PM
where's jessica drew??
FireKnightRises - 7/19/2011, 6:56 PM
