Minor AVENGERS: AGE OF ULTRON Tidbits; Iron Man Leg Pressing, Agent Coulson Returning?

Could Agent Phil Coulson return to the big-screen in The Avengers sequel? Has Bruce Banner "actively dating" been confirmed? Is this what he and Tony Stark will be working out on? Check it out!

As of late, the most exciting and recent prospect of The Avengers: Age of Ultron has been the several countries across four continents in which the Marvel production will be filming this spring. We probably won't get any major updates until the sequel actually starts filming, so here's a compilation of Age of Ultron-related tidbits that aren't exactly exciting, but worth checking out.

Despite his character's presumed death in The Avengers and now his starring Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. role, Clark Gregg was asked recently if he could say whether Agent Phil Coulson will be returning to the big-screen for the Age of Ultron. “I can’t say,” he told Assignment X, smiling. “I’m not allowed to say anything – I can neither confirm nor deny. But I am very busy here.” A simple 'no' would have sufficed if Gregg wasn't expecting to appear in the highly-anticipated Marvel sequel, so it's almost safe to say he'll have a role in some capacity; maybe a flashback. Perhaps, he may actually turn out to be the Vision, whose presence in The Avengers: Age of Ultron is all but confirmed.

Moving along, with South Korea being one of the aforementioned countries that Marvel and Joss Whedon will be shooting in, it's been reported that South Korean actress Kim Soo Hyun's fluency in English has landed her a small part in The Avengers: Age of Ultron. In addition to “running away and attempting to escape from the villains,” Kim Soo Hyun's scenes will involve playing a doctor to Robert Downey Jr.'s Tony Stark. Could she be playing Su Yin, the neurosurgeon who tried to correct Stark's deteriorating nervous system in the comics? The bigger question is why would Stark need a doctor. Negative effects of getting the shrapnel removed from his chest in Iron Man 3?

Meanwhile, Mark Ruffalo was asked yet again if Avengers: Age of Ultron will see Bruce Banner/Hulk “actively dating” as rumored previously. “If it's true, it will be a very complex and difficult courtship,” he said, smiling. There's probably some odd correlation between Banner dating, Tony Stark needing aid from a doctor, and the fitness equipment that they may be using in the film...

Stumbled across yesterday by MTV News, apparently something... interesting will happen during The Avengers: Age of Ultron involving some advanced fitness equipment called the Canali System. “I'm really not allowed to like speak about it yet fully,” said Joe DiAngelo, the owner of New York City's Superstar Gym which makes the equipment. “It looks like it just came out of a spaceship, like an alien from another planet,” he said. “Then what happens [in the movie], all I can tell you is that one of the biggest superhero movies and the action heroes are going to be exercising on our fitness equipment in the movie.” While Joe DiAngelo didn't name The Avengers: Age of Ultron as the film he's referring to, MTV lays out other info that makes it pretty obvious. He further revealed that the studio asked him to build custom exercising equipment for the film's set after one of its actors (“a bigshot, you know?”) visited the Gym and told producers about the Canali System; either Paul Bettany or Robert Downey Jr. Basically, this equipment will probably be nothing more than props for a scene inside the Avengers Stark Tower. What do you think?

The Avengers: Age of Ultron stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Cobie Smulders, Jeremy Renner, Aaron Taylor-Johnson, Elizabeth Olsen, with Samuel L. Jackson and James Spader. The anticipated film is set to release on May 1, 2015.

Whedon loves Rocky 4
wookiefit - 2/5/2014, 10:33 AM

JoJo1982 - 2/5/2014, 10:33 AM
Hmm interesting
wookiefit - 2/5/2014, 10:34 AM
It's probably just a prop for a scene.
DCMarvelFreshman - 2/5/2014, 10:36 AM
@wookiefit76 Several times I had to re-read that quote and the context in which it was used because I was asking the same exact thing.
McNyagano - 2/5/2014, 10:36 AM
I hope Liv Tyler is in AOU. She was great as Betty Brant imo.
Humperdink - 2/5/2014, 10:36 AM

Better have this playing in the background.

MexicanSexyman - 2/5/2014, 10:37 AM
Please God, do not allow Agent Bland Acting Skills to comeback in any of the movies. Keep him in Agents of Shield.
Bekss - 2/5/2014, 10:41 AM

JoJo1982 - 2/5/2014, 10:47 AM
So tony stark might get some bad sound effect from not having the arc reactor in his chest no more........... Good!!!

I can see Coulson doing 30 second to a minute cameo..... Only!!!
cipher - 2/5/2014, 10:48 AM
Haha, yeah..

Re-read that a few times myself. It still didn't make any sense to me after the third time, so I just assumed that: a)I should probably try to get more than four f*cking hours of sleep sometime b) running headfirst into the wall is probably the most effective way to counter insomnia, and c) I'm a bloody idiot.

C's my default response to everything.
TopCat89 - 2/5/2014, 10:49 AM
.....I don't get it

Nothing wrong with how the article is written, and no offence to 'DCMARVELFRESHMAN'......I just don't understand the scene that is discussed....is it a "Superhero Training Montage" perhaps, can anyone elaborate?

It's been a loooong day in the UK
TopCat89 - 2/5/2014, 10:50 AM
...my comment jumped forward....now i'm seeing things....off to bed
cipher - 2/5/2014, 10:50 AM
Yeah, it's totally not your fault though, Fresh. I don't want to send the wrong message or anything like that.

No offense taken, I was just as bewildered when I read that bit yesterday... that's partly why I waited until today to post. It's basically saying the fitness equipment will be used by one or more of the actors for a scene in the movie.
TopCat89 - 2/5/2014, 10:55 AM

Yeah i think an early night is called for haha
TopCat89 - 2/5/2014, 10:57 AM

militantcharles - 2/5/2014, 11:15 AM
Cap is gonna go beast mode in the gym!
wookiefit - 2/5/2014, 11:19 AM

It is a good find. I keep getting a headache re-reading his statements. I'm getting the impression they want a larger one made for a character in the movie. Maybe I'm wrong, not sure.
QuestiontheAnswer - 2/5/2014, 11:32 AM
Not particularly intriguing but I'll watch because I enjoyed the first one.
Pheezmatic - 2/5/2014, 11:42 AM
@McNyaGano I think you mean Betty Ross dude.
charlie2094 - 2/5/2014, 11:50 AM

I remember as soon as he mentioned a prison escape, I absolutely envisioned it involving the Mandarin and such, way back when people were adamant that Killian was the Mandarin because he said so...

Honestly see it being true now...not sure how they'd work it in, but after All Hail the King, and how right Wardell has been, kind of believe this
MrBatmor - 2/5/2014, 12:09 PM
Ultron + masters of evil in a:aou you heard it here first folks!!
TheRationalNerd - 2/5/2014, 12:10 PM
Please just let Coulson have a cameo, nothing too big please!
AmazingFantasy - 2/5/2014, 12:13 PM
[frick] coulson
beane2099 - 2/5/2014, 12:15 PM
I could Paul Bettany playing Vision. I've entertained the possibility that Jarvis may end up becoming Vision. But then they did show that machine tinkering with Coulson's brain. That could also be tied into the Vision's origin (seeing as how Vision was based on Wonder Man's brain pattern originally). But then you have to wonder if it's going to be the Vision we know or the Vision from way back when.

SPACESHIPS HAVE SEX( as in Male, female,or gay)!!
chuckg313 - 2/5/2014, 12:29 PM
No Coulson please!
Dunejedi - 2/5/2014, 12:30 PM
@Beane, I'm with you, Bettany for Vision or GTFO.
SpideyQuad - 2/5/2014, 12:52 PM
Hey why not? Every good movie can use a montage!
AGoodHonestMan - 2/5/2014, 12:56 PM
@ Gold

Is there anyway you can put up a link to that guy that doesn't involve twitter? Are they're any new rumors buy the way?

My guess is that Kim Soo Hyun is playing Madame Hydra. Yes, I know she's Hungarian in the comics, but since Fox used her in The Wolverine maybe Marvel/Disney are going a different route with the character so the the General Audience don't get confused. Plus it adds to the rumor that Ultron wakes up and wreck stuff in Korea.
defenderofthefaith - 2/5/2014, 1:43 PM
With Thor hanging with Jane, doesn't Jane have to make an appearance in this?
