Yay, that's awesome. But no ant-man ? That sucks, hopefully Ant-man will get an IMAX release.
MrCBM56 - 3/20/2014, 5:06 AM
I hope they actually film with IMAX cameras.

Kind of a given, but nice to have confirmation! Sure Ant-Man will join it

Always watch in IMAX whenever possible, not only is it far superior, but it's so big and so loud it drowns out the sound of the audience :P
rora - 3/20/2014, 5:15 AM
$$$$$ for Mickey
MoreGambit - 3/20/2014, 5:19 AM
What's "Avangers: Age of Ultron" ? Is it kind of like "Avengers: Age of Ultron"? Those titles are really similar, I hope people don't get confused. :p

This shouldn't even be considered news now days. It should instead be news if it ISN'T going to be released in IMAX, or if it was filmed in that format.
batz11 - 3/20/2014, 5:29 AM
Avangers is the UK version...
Isra - 3/20/2014, 5:31 AM

Nubase - 3/20/2014, 5:34 AM
IMAX is he only way to watch movies as far as l'm conceaned but its is better if the movie is filmed using imax cameras, not just stretched to fill the imax screens
MsDarkPhoenix - 3/20/2014, 5:37 AM
Oh great!! Wait, I don't care, we don't have IMAX here. Cool for the rest of the civilized world I guess...

Rotten Tomatoes has its first review of Captain America WS.

"Every element in Captain America: The Winter Soldier from its strong characters, engrossing conspiracy storyline and especially the taut action scenes are brilliantly done. "

Awesome. Best way to see a flick.

Elib! What session you going to for Winter Soldier? I was just on the site buying tix not an hour ago!

MrSotoMan - 3/20/2014, 6:53 AM
I'm not shocked. I mean come on, did you ever suspect that any of these movies might not get an IMAX release?

It's especially refreshing that all of the best scenes that really wake you up aren't the elaborate CGI sequences (though there are plenty of those as well). It's the brutish, analog, kicking-and-punching melees that really come across. A lot of action movies rely on fast cuts to obscure the fact that these actors don't really know how to fight. In contrast, the fight choreography in The Winter Soldier is excellent, and Chris Evans (or his stunt doubles, in some cases) sells the shit out of them.

The most compelling scenes, as you might expect, are the confrontations between Cap and his titular metal-armed nemesis. There are a handful of them, and they're all great. Basically you've got two evenly matches badasses just slugging it out. They aren't these polished, balletic scenes. They're mean, and while near-invulnerability and invincible shields and arms obviously still require significant suspension of disbelief, they feel more real than if people were flying around and blasting lasers out of their eyes. It's the Pacific Rim effect: There's just something very satisfying about two super-powered things wailing on each other.
xXkryptoniteXx - 3/20/2014, 6:56 AM
Imax yes. 3D no! I hate movies in 3D, it's such a money grab. Imax too but at least I don't need to put on does 3D glasses. When they do it IMAX, I just hope there is a difference in size.
Spidey10 - 3/20/2014, 6:58 AM
Blasting lasers out of their eyes huh hmmmm???? someone is trying to start something with that review there
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/20/2014, 7:17 AM
For the love money. Disney/Marvel are looking at billions of dollars as IMAX expands.
MrSotoMan - 3/20/2014, 7:25 AM
@DoubleD- You also forgot the rest of that review, or his bottom line

Bottom line: If you like Marvel superhero flicks, then you should probably see this movie. In fact, I'd go as far as to say that it's a better, smarter movie than its predecessor. But if you were hoping for something that will stay with you a little longer, you might be barking up the wrong tentpole.
Spidey10 - 3/20/2014, 7:27 AM
Not sure what to make of that last line but everything that I have read about the movie sounds amazing
SimyJo - 3/20/2014, 7:31 AM
BFI Imax prices in England:

Adult (15 and over) £18.20 £16.10 £20.20 £17.40
Child (3 - 14) £14.00 £10.90 £16.00 £11.90
Student (with valid photo ID) £14.00 £11.50 £16.00 £12.50
Senior (over 60s) £14.00 £13.00 £16.00 £14.00
Family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children) £56.00 £43.60 £64.00 £47.60
Family of 3 (1 adult, 2 children) £42.00 £32.70 £48.00 £35.70

Convert that to dollars and tell me the American market would still be enthusiastic.
Personally, Imax or not they can **** right-off for those prices. I'll wait for the Blu-Ray.
MisterNiceGuy - 3/20/2014, 7:44 AM
All of the IMAX theaters around me are 3d though. I hate 3d it makes me dizzy
MrSotoMan - 3/20/2014, 7:49 AM
@MisterNiceGuy- By the looks of this press release, Hollywood looks like it won't bother with converting or filming in 3D anymore (THANK GOD)
revolver737 - 3/20/2014, 8:19 AM
It would be nice if they offered a 2D IMAX showing.
BaneSmash - 3/20/2014, 8:27 AM
