Marvel Animation Studios To Release IRON MAN & HULK: HEROES UNITED Feature Next Year

It isn't a follow-up to the events of Marvel's The Avengers (although it reportedly can be interpreted that way), but a new feature length animated film called Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United will be released next year as the duo battle it out with Zzzax! Read on for details and images.

Set to be released on home video on April 23rd, 2013, Marvel Animation Studios' debut feature will be Iron Man & Hulk: Heroes United. According to Entertainment Weekly, the film will "team Tony Stark and Bruce Banner in a fight against the villain Zzzax, a creature formed out of pure energy who can absorb human minds." Featuring a mixture of hand drawn art and computer generated animation, it seems to be a similar style to MTV's Spider-Man series from a while back. Although it's not being billed as a follow-up to the events of Marvel's The Avengers, Jeph Loeb tells the site that fans are "welcome people to interpret any way they like. In tone and character, we want to follow our best leader."

Adrian Pasdar (Heroes) will voice Iron Man and Fred Tatasciore (Ultimate Spider-Man) voices Bruce Banner/Hulk. Zzzax will be voiced by Dee Bradley Baker, best known as Klaus on American Dad. "The challenge was to pick up the banter between the two of them. Certainly, Adrian Pasdar’s performance is inspired by what Robert Downey Jr. does, and Mark laid down such an incredible path for us to be able to follow," adds Loeb. As for the future animated features, it appears as if DC will finally have some competition in that department! "It’s our hope that we will start doing more feature-length direct to Blu-ray and DVD stories. They’ll more than likely be in team-up situations. We find it works really well when we have big exciting adventures with two or more of our heroes."

neopunch - 10/4/2012, 10:45 AM
I'd much rather see Hulk vs Iron Man.....complete with Hulk-Buster armor.
jimpinto24 - 10/4/2012, 10:46 AM
I'm looking forward to the Iron Man & Hulk movie next year. I'm hoping Jeph Loeb doesn't make it to kiddy! (Like he does with Ultimate Spider-Man)
Tymminator - 10/4/2012, 10:48 AM

BlackFlash - 10/4/2012, 10:51 AM
@Prot3ctor - I don't know if there's gonna be a IM4 I thought it was going to end with IM3 and then we would see him in TA 2-3. As for a Civil War arc, im calling it now I don't see that happening.
sexfoodcomics - 10/4/2012, 10:52 AM
Marvel needs to take a que from DC on this stuff. There animation doenst hold up at all to DCs. It's always very cheap looking.
DeadHubris - 10/4/2012, 11:01 AM

Agreed. What a waste of Talent.
Batboy1984 - 10/4/2012, 11:09 AM
Meh, still waiting for Ultimate Avengers 3 animated movie.
HelaGood - 10/4/2012, 11:31 AM
ill totally watch it!
CPBuff22 - 10/4/2012, 11:35 AM
So can I ask why Marvel has such a Hulk hard on? He has had two movies and two animated features in the past ten years. Could we get please get some new characters in the animated features? I have been dying for Deadpool, Guardians of the Galaxy, Secret War, Infinity War, Nova, X-Force, or X-23 to get some animation love.

Animated shows I don't really need any more of include Hulk, Iron Man, & X-Men/Wolverine.
TheAbomination - 10/4/2012, 11:36 AM
The one area where DC does trump Marvel is animation. So if Marvel's serious about this, they better hire the best animators and writers they can find.
Optimus83 - 10/4/2012, 11:38 AM
¡¡¡Hulk!!!. ...¡¡¡SMASH!!!
TheAcidSkull - 10/4/2012, 11:40 AM

Luigi - 10/4/2012, 11:46 AM
I've read an incredibly brief sypnosis. Just from that I know that, I somehow know that this is going to be THE WORST MOVIE EVER!!!!! [frick] THIS MOVIE!!! (inserts two second video showing my distaste that nobody will watch because they have to watch a minute long add first)
comicstocode - 10/4/2012, 11:49 AM
There hasn't been a good animated Marvel movie ever.
I'm done giving Marvel animation chances.
bobevanz - 10/4/2012, 11:50 AM
Im all for marvel trying to break bricks in the animation business but its always meh. Live action is cooler anyways ^_^
Dedpool - 10/4/2012, 11:55 AM
MEh! Marvel's films were all lackluster, the best of which in my opinion was Dr. Strange as they trhew a new twist to it, explaining what magic really was and how it worked, and giving Strange an updated look. Planet Hulk was prtetty good, and I loved Hulk Vs, but for the most part they were kind of weak.
Marvel has some great stories in their catalog which is why shows like Spectacular Spiderman and Avengers EMH were good.
marvel72 - 10/4/2012, 11:57 AM
i'll check it out,it looks better than ultimate spider-man,superhero squad & batman bold & the brave.
siggisuperman - 10/4/2012, 12:02 PM
I find myself agreeing with Grif. I do not like this kind of animation. I REALLY want to watch the Iron man animated show but I can't look at the animation without hurling, and I am usually very open minded
Ancar - 10/4/2012, 12:12 PM
This smells like shitte!!!
FightAs0ne - 10/4/2012, 12:23 PM
I've seen really good animated movies and tv shows, including the Spider-Man show on MTV, with this art style so I'll definitely give it a chance. I love my DC animated movies, but I need some Marvel ones added to the collection.
thejon93rd - 10/4/2012, 12:26 PM
I think this will be good. If not, great.
Rothwilder - 10/4/2012, 12:27 PM

Learn to use paragraphs. They beat using walls of text. And Iron Man should stop at a trilogy.
Jefferys - 10/4/2012, 12:50 PM
*grumbles* I'm still going to watch this even if its bad. Not as if I have anything better to do with my time. But what is time anyway?
DCjohnny - 10/4/2012, 1:03 PM
i am more into "batman dark knight returns part 2" than this one.....
zachman2013 - 10/4/2012, 1:04 PM
This looks like it has serious potential.
Enormouse - 10/4/2012, 1:36 PM
I wish marvel would just adapt stories for their animation like DC does. I'd love to see an Earth X feature.
poop23 - 10/4/2012, 1:37 PM
i'll give it a chance. Still really hope to eventually see a hulkbuster suit in a live-action marvel film
iJackSparrow - 10/4/2012, 2:13 PM
Awesome, looking forward to it.
