New Poster For MARVEL'S THE AVENGERS; Plus Title Change For The UK

Marvel has released the newest poster for their upcoming superhero team up movie The Avengers, featuring the entire team assembled - as well as the announcement of a title change for its UK release. Click here to check it out!

Marvel's Avengers Facebook page has debuted the newest poster for The Avengers. The poster features all the team members, including The Hulk, in a battle ravaged NYC. This teaser poster is just a taste of things to come with the second full length trailer being released tomorrow. Something else that has happened is that they have chanced the title of the film in the UK to Avengers Assemble. The change was made to avoid confusion with the 60's british TV show The Avengers. Here is what Disney told HeyUGuys, "We have changed the title of “Marvel The Avengers” to “Marvel Avengers Assemble” This has been done merely to differentiate the movie from the popular 1960’s British television show, The Avengers." Check the US poster out with the UK version below.

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures Marvel’s The Avengers--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

The Avengers stars Robert Downey Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner, Tom Hiddleston, Stellan Skarsgård , Samuel L. Jackson and will be released in the US on May 4, 2012 and in the UK on April 26, 2012.

[frick]ing awesome
PaulRom - 2/28/2012, 9:03 AM
That's epic. Although Iron Man's arm is a bit too...extended there.
LucasMend - 2/28/2012, 9:03 AM
Damn, that was the kind of Poster I was waiting for!
SageMode - 2/28/2012, 9:05 AM
Badass personified
GizmoEl - 2/28/2012, 9:07 AM
Hulk is HUGE
JDUKE25 - 2/28/2012, 9:08 AM
Hulk and Thor look bada$$.

IM looks alright.

The rest, meh.
Jolt17 - 2/28/2012, 9:09 AM
Cap's head seems wrong. And he's on the back...ugh, yeah.
BlueMex - 2/28/2012, 9:09 AM

Mago - 2/28/2012, 9:09 AM
Looks fanmade
JDUKE25 - 2/28/2012, 9:10 AM
@GizmoEl yeah Hulk does look somewhat out of preportion. I know he's big but if you brought him up front he would look around 10-12 feet tall.
JDUKE25 - 2/28/2012, 9:11 AM
@Jolt yeah, Hawkeye should move his a$$ to the back and bring Cap to the front.
JoshWilding - 2/28/2012, 9:12 AM
Rubbish poster. The decision to call the movie "Avemgers Assemble" in the UK is also idiotic.
superotherside - 2/28/2012, 9:14 AM
I think it looks great. Wish Cap was a bit more in the front though. Still Iron Man is probably a bigger draw to the movie so it's understandable.
JordanKing - 2/28/2012, 9:15 AM
Not too shabby! The Hulk looks especially good there.
jascurio - 2/28/2012, 9:15 AM
Want this now.
ksommer - 2/28/2012, 9:16 AM
That's pretty cool! Can also make out Stark Tower in the back ground.
Kayo - 2/28/2012, 9:17 AM
now that's winning
Jolt17 - 2/28/2012, 9:17 AM
JDUKE25: That way should be better. It irritates me...not because Iron Man looks like the leading man, but Captain America is behind everyone else, really?

Also, the Avengers Assemble title just looks and sounds wrong.
JBatesyFilmreviews - 2/28/2012, 9:18 AM
Looks [frick]ing AWESOME, I don't mind about them calling it 'Avengers Assemble' in the UK because at least we're getting it a week earlier ;)
Preowned95 - 2/28/2012, 9:19 AM
WTF??!!! Great poster yeah, but why Avengers Assemble??!! It's so [frick]ing stupid!!! Why not just call it the avengers??? UK exclusive title my ass... :(
GizmoEl - 2/28/2012, 9:20 AM
They don't seem too concerned with the building thats blowing up BEHIND them. I'm concerned with what's going on in front of them...
LtAnarchy - 2/28/2012, 9:20 AM
Hulk kinda looks like Lou Ferrigno
OdinsBeard - 2/28/2012, 9:21 AM
will be in my garage soon
MrLoki - 2/28/2012, 9:21 AM
LOVE IT!!!!!!
Jolt17 - 2/28/2012, 9:21 AM
Love how Stark Tower is visible on the background, though.
antonio - 2/28/2012, 9:21 AM
How can anyone think this looks awesome? Look at their stances and facial expression and the lighting on Hawkeye looks like the same from those character poster released a while back. Its pretty [frick]ing laughable. Background looks cool, though.
THORGodOfThunder - 2/28/2012, 9:21 AM
NerdyGeek - 2/28/2012, 9:21 AM
Incredibly disappointing.
Killersloth - 2/28/2012, 9:21 AM
Think hulks standing on a car, thats why he looks so tall. Title change is probably for idiots who confuse this with that 60s spy tv show.
RorMachine - 2/28/2012, 9:22 AM
Too photoshpped as usual but I guess that's just what we have to expect from now on. Otherwise, decent character layout, although they are all disproportionate. It's also very reminiscent of The Watchmen poster.
Lilvic92 - 2/28/2012, 9:23 AM
I'm not gonna lie I was hoping that the UK release was gonna be pushed back so I didn't have to be jealous of you guys anymore but instead they make the release date a day ealier...what kinda unfair shit is that ?! lol
MassExecutions - 2/28/2012, 9:24 AM not like this poster at all. Way too piecemeal. The perspective and their relative sizes look off. What, are be back to Ang Lee's ridiculously growing Hulk? Are be sure this is official? Ugh.
dbperez54 - 2/28/2012, 9:26 AM
Happy11 - 2/28/2012, 9:27 AM
I heard that there will be special previews 2 or 3 days before its officially released on the 27th in britain I can't wait but I won't be watching it in 3d, thor put me off it
Optimus83 - 2/28/2012, 9:27 AM
RedFury - 2/28/2012, 9:28 AM
lmao.... it's cool but they're all lit differently. It doesn't make one lick of sense! They should have just released each of them on their own poster.
JoshWilding - 2/28/2012, 9:28 AM
Stubbz: What difference would that make to my personal opinion? It's an uninspired photoshopped mess. Considering this movie is such a big deal, you would have thought Marvel would have come up with something a little better, even if it had been based on a comic book cover. This is extremely awkward looking and there's no way in hell I'd want a copy on my wall. The title change is also pointless and I can only assume its a legal thing because there was a TV show here with that meme a long time ago.
sexfoodcomics - 2/28/2012, 9:28 AM
You guys realized why they changed the name in the UK right? The UK has that series or movie called The Avengers , so they didn't want to get tied up in that stuff. Probably a legal thing too.
Ashdm - 2/28/2012, 9:29 AM
Love how the Stark building is behind them
antonio - 2/28/2012, 9:30 AM
Look at Renner's face!!! That is probably the thing that makes this poster absolutely laughable. But as long as the movie can deliver, that's all I'm asking for.
