Avengers: Age of Ultron will own 2015 and we all know it.
MrBadTouch - 9/3/2013, 11:17 AM
star wars it has a bigger following
WawelDragon - 9/3/2013, 11:19 AM
Star Wars, more fans in almost every age...
ThunderStorm - 9/3/2013, 11:20 AM
Avengers: Age of Ultron although to be honest I am quite looking forward to all three of them.
antbwan - 9/3/2013, 11:21 AM
Star Wars will win, especially if released during Christmas...it would swallow up December, January and Febraury
AvengersRock - 9/3/2013, 11:21 AM
I think Avengers:AOU will come out on top, but it really depends on the quality and mass appeal of Batman vs. Superman. Avengers is a guaranteed Billion +, and I don't think Superman/Batman is a guarantee beyond a huge first weekend. I think Star Wars will come in third, but that will be an interesting race to the top.
xXkryptoniteXx - 9/3/2013, 11:21 AM
New money well win and that's why I choose avengers part 2. It well have a lot of help since we have Thor and captain America setting it up for 2015. Marvel is smart for them having a shared universe with there own movies as a marketing tool to drive more financial success for the big one. Disney is brilliant on buying marvel and star wars.

Disney wins in the end. No love for DC.....bummer. Maybe next time.
charlie2094 - 9/3/2013, 11:23 AM
I'd say Star Wars mostly...I mean that has 30 years worth of fans and a huge following, even Phantom Menace (I still like it btw) made $1 Billion and the first is still the 3rd biggest film of all time when adjusted...has so many fans, ones from the original trilogy, ones from the prequels, ones introduced to them later on, new ones etc. Really think that's going to do huge numbers, with Avengers in second, maybe even Batman/Superman, Batman made two $1 Billion+ films alone...
AvengersRock - 9/3/2013, 11:23 AM
I agree with others who've said all three are at the top of my list. Looking forward to all of them.
tr8cthis - 9/3/2013, 11:23 AM
Any other answer besides Worlds Finest is a biased one. You cant put any combination of heroes on the screen that matches up to the two all time greatest. Put your Marvel vs DC banners down and just admit it. Unless jokes and plot twists like the Mandarin being a drunk is what we are subjected to now?
shadyginzo - 9/3/2013, 11:23 AM
I was surprised to see SW ahead of Batman/Superman, but episode 3 topped 800mil nearly ten years ago, more than superman managed. That said, the pull of him and batman should top star wars I think, but there is no point pretending either will top Avengers. That is actual crazy talk.
DUCKBOY - 9/3/2013, 11:24 AM
STAR WARS LATE 2015 SO DOES THAT COUNT WHEN IT MAKES MONEY IN 2016, AND WOULD NOT BE SHOCKED IF AVENGERS 2 DOSENT MAKE AS MUCH AS THE FIRST KINDA HIGH BAR THE FIRST ONE SET, WHILE BATMAN AND SUPERMAN OR MOS2 CAN DEF MAKE MORE THAN MOS OR AT LEAST HAS THE POSSIBILITY
YipCha - 9/3/2013, 11:25 AM
I don't feel like there is a wrong answer among the three. I think that any one of them has the possibility to do numbers that could unseat Titanic, maybe even Avatar. It just depends on the marketing and the quality of each of the films. 2015 will be a very good year.
StupidSexyLockon - 9/3/2013, 11:25 AM
Regardless of whether or not you like the Avengers, there's no denying it will easily make the most money. Anyone with common sense will agree.
shadyginzo - 9/3/2013, 11:26 AM
And it's not like any of them are going to underperform, so it's safe to say we will be running this poll again for Trinity, Avengers 3, and EP8 in a few years.
BatManHeisenberg - 9/3/2013, 11:26 AM
Batman/Superman. We have seen an Avengers movie, and 7 other Star Wars movies. This is the first time people will see the two greatest heroes on the screen together, it is bound to win.
RPD - 9/3/2013, 11:29 AM
Avengers. No contest...
charlie2094 - 9/3/2013, 11:29 AM
@Stupid

That's a bit harsh, especially considering something like Star Wars has 30+ years of fans, whereas Avengers has not even two...the first did so well because it was something that had never been done before, no guarantee it'll do the same again. Still be big of course, but that'd be like expecting Avatar 2 to be as big as the first Avatar, the first was something completely unseen before...they're all going to do well, think Batman/Superman will surprise. I mean, Man of Steel has $700, add in Batman who's already had two $1 Billion+ solo films and put such two iconic characters together...could be huge
AvengersRock - 9/3/2013, 11:29 AM
Does anyone think that Marvel is positioning their studio for 3 a year at some point in the near future? They have Thor in November, Cap in April and GOTG in August. All are unusual months. If Cap gets a good reception in April, I could see them moving their blockbusters into April after 2015. I'm hoping 2016 will see three Marvel films.

Anyone think that's possible?
Gamera623 - 9/3/2013, 11:29 AM
Star Wars is much bigger than comic book movies.
Im looking foward to Avengers 2 most...but realistically SW will be king in the $$ making department.
superstaff - 9/3/2013, 11:30 AM
Avengers or Star Wars VII.
Danbojohnj - 9/3/2013, 11:31 AM
Star Wars easy.
WruceBayne - 9/3/2013, 11:33 AM
@batmanHeisenberg- #1. Cool name. Nobody on here is cool enough to get the BB reference.
#2. I totally agree 100% with you. We've never seen a Batman/Superman flick. WB is going to pump an @ss load of money into this movie and market the [fricking] sh*t out of it. You won't be able to buy a pack of condoms without Ben Afflecks face on it.
Tevii - 9/3/2013, 11:34 AM
Avengers or Star Wars DISNEY will own the year. Landing Star Wars AND Marvel was such a coup for Disney
80sFace - 9/3/2013, 11:36 AM
@AvengersRock - that's the hope, that they move to 3/yr. Esp given that at 2/year it's hard to get all the characters out there; they're all competing for a few spots.
frankjaeger - 9/3/2013, 11:37 AM
I say Star Wars because it attracts the old and new generation a lot...huge follwoing. Then i'll go with Batman/Supes because those two have never been seen on the screen together before and plus all the hype good or bad it is getting
frankjaeger - 9/3/2013, 11:37 AM
WruceBayne - i'm def coo enough. BB is the shiz
DavidHaller - 9/3/2013, 11:39 AM
@tr8cthis what? You do realize that Man of Steel though was successful at the Box Office was still somewhat of a letdown and though people should be more or less over it by then, the Ben Affleck casting is still gonna affect the numbers somewhat.... It's really up in the air between Star Wars and Avengers.
Chewtoy - 9/3/2013, 11:41 AM
Only the Phantom Menace out of the new Star Wars films broke $1b on initial release, and that was after 20 years of anticipation following a beloved trilogy. Following the prequels? Star Wars is definitely not a guaranteed $1B earner.

With Man of Steel only making < $700m, the addition of Batman would have to more than double the box office to equal that of the first Avengers.

While the Avengers sequel will likely earn less than the first one, it's an easy $1b earner. It's clearly the most likely winner of the summer without knowing the quality and reception of the actual sequels themselves.
shadyginzo - 9/3/2013, 11:44 AM
@avengersrock @80sFace

Yeah I agree, April release for Cap was the biggest clue but I think 80sface was also thinking of feige's post avengers interview where 3/year was "hinted" at, but as if to say "we are doing 3 a year as soon as possible and of people pay"

Phase 3 will be 3/year, April, August, November releases.
charlie2094 - 9/3/2013, 11:44 AM
@DavidHaller

Well, put together Man of Steels $700 million, add in Batman who's had two $1 Billion+ films, add in the "controversy" about Affleck (meaning people already know about the film, good publicity in a way) and putting together two such iconic characters...could steal the show, never been done before...

I'd say

1 - Star Wars VII
2 - Batman/Superman
3 - Avengers: AOU

All three will be $1 Billion plus films though, they all win, Star Wars VII and Batman/Superman and just "newer", Star Wars being a sequel to the classic trilogy with fans of all ages, Batman/Superman having never been done before, bringing together two hugely iconic characters..
AvengersRock - 9/3/2013, 11:52 AM
Keep in mind that a properties "following" is only part of the equation. If the critics don't like a movie, then that will keep many GA away and will stunt the Box Office of any of these movies. Joss Whedon created lightning in a bottle with Avengers. I trust he will do so again. The other properties, I'm just not as confident about. I know I will like SW and B+S, but I can't guarantee a Billion+ just yet. It really depends on their mass appeal. Any other answer is wishful thinking.
McNyagano - 9/3/2013, 11:52 AM
@Charlie2094

It doesn't matter that Bats is in MOS2. Then by your logic, IM3 made more than TDK trilogy films, so you combine that with the guranteed 1 bil A:AOU will make and add RDJ as IM, it will likely make 2 billion. See doesn't make sense at all.

Man Of Steel 2 aka Superman/Batman is the sequel to a critically panned, moderately BO successful movie based on the most famous superhero of all time.
charlie2094 - 9/3/2013, 11:54 AM
@BlackJack10

Yeah I agree, I mean, Avatar 2 won't make near as much as Avatars $2 Billion, because the first one was completely new and became an event. People didn't see Avengers because of Cap or Thor or Black Widow, was more just because of Robert Downey Jr and because of the novelty of such a film. I still love the film, but don't think the second will be as big, though who knows, definitely still a $1 Billion film, but Batman/Superman does have the novelty factor, I still believe Star Wars 7 takes the win
russburlingame - 9/3/2013, 11:54 AM
@nibs - But Episodes 1, 4, 5 and 6 all made more than The Avengers when adjusted for inflation. And next time around, The Avengers will be the only one of these three films that doesn't have that "first time/wonder what's gonna happen" novelty.
HavokTurbo - 9/3/2013, 11:55 AM
Something else to consider. Not all of us that are into comics are gonna go see Star Wars. Almost everyone that is going to see Star Wars will see Worlds Finest and Age of Ultron.
charlie2094 - 9/3/2013, 11:56 AM
@McNyagano

It wasn't critically panned and audiences still liked it themselves...it made double what Batman Begins made and went on tow make a billion. Iron Man 3 made $1 Billion+ only because of essentially being an Avengers sequel/followup. Iron Man 3 without avengers would not have done 1 billion...the people who made up the 1.3 billion of Iron Man were the same as those who made up Avengers 1.5
JoJo1982 - 9/3/2013, 11:58 AM
I voted Avengers 2 for 3 reasons
1. It's the first BIG summer movie with no competition for a few weeks
2. It's a sequel to a success movie
3. The hype for it is pretty big

Superman and Batman would be 2nd, a few reasons is, it comes out in the middle of the summer, with all the summer movies already released

Star Wars would be 3rd, cause people still have that bad taste from the prequels and Star Wars has lost a very little popularity these days..... These days its more about comic book movies then sci-fi(ex: Star Wars, Star Trek, Jurassic Park, etc..)
charlie2094 - 9/3/2013, 12:01 PM
@McNyagano

Seriously, Batman is one of the most iconic characters ever, adding him with Superman is obviously going to matter, can't even be argued. Batman has such a huge fanbase, not counting the two $1 Billion solo films, that adding him with Superman at least doubles Man of Steels B/O.

Iron Man made $1 billion, only because of Avengers. Be the exact same audience seeing Avengers 2, so he doesn't bring anything new with him

JoJo1982 - 9/3/2013, 12:04 PM
Plus we all got a hint that Star Wars was losing popularity

Remember Summer 2002 Spiderman vs Star Wars Attack of the Clones

who won that fight
