Reaction to Avengers EMH Cancellation

Reaction to Avengers EMH Cancellation

My thoughts on the cancellation of Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes as well as their work in general over the past few years.

To sum it up relatively quickly, I'm quite fed up with Marvel Animation. A few years ago, we lost Spectacular Spider-man and Wolverine and the X-men at the same time, which was pretty awful. Avengers: Earth's Mightiest came out and was a great show and it seemed like Marvel was going in the right direction. Then we got Ultimate Spider-man which is quite possibly the worst attempt at making a Spider-man show I have ever seen. They didn't keep any of what fans loved about Spectacular Spider-man and went in an awful direction. This has me very concerned for Avengers Assemble. If they're trying to make this into something that fits with Ultimate Spider-man it'll likely be just as silly and poorly written.

They really need to start trying to emulate DC's approach to doing an animated series. When DC makes a show, they tend to stick with it. Look at how long The Batman, Batman: The Brave and the Bold, Teen Titans, and just about every show in the DC Animated Universe lasted. Justice League lasted two seasons, then they changed the format of the show to make it Justice League Unlimited. I see no reason why the people in charge at Marvel Animation couldn't have mandated a change in Earth's Mightiest Heroes for the next season to bring it closer to what they want. Instead, they have decided to throw away a great show and disregard the loyal fanbase.

I am similarly disappointed at losing EMH. This show could have been the entry point for the whole Marvel Universe under one big tent. While I understand that EMH started before Disney took over and they wanted to bring all animation under that one house, they could have still continued the story and style with a different, Disney studio.

Loeb effed this one up, if it was his call.

I can't stresss how bad this is. Someone give me a call when Marvel gets its act together with its animation.

Reminds me, whoever makes these stupid decisions (we all know who this is) KEEP THEM THE HELL AWAY FROM THE MCU FILM DIRECTION!!!!!!!

An Avengers that's more in line with Ultimate Spider-Man? Isn't that just Super-Hero Squad all over again?

It was a good show. Not great but very good. If they go the route of making it more like Ultimate Spider-man Loeb will be catching an official arse whipping.

Apparently Avengers: EMH will be replaced by "Avengers Assemble".

It all comes down to Loeb, people! The guy is horrible in marvel media (The guy gave us Rulk for crying out loud!!!), and needs to be replaced ASAP. Marvel was ruined by friends hiring friends, and Disney is gonna have to step in and remove Joe Q. & friends soon before they soil the Marvel brand beyond repair!

Yet another annoying matter is that from what I read, they won't finish the Surtur storyline they were developping in the second season of EMH. Such a shame, it would have been the most epic battle of the series.'s_Mightiest_Heroes_episodes

Well, according to wikipedia, there is a hope that Avengers: Earth's Mightest Heroes might not be cancelled. Here is that small report:

"On June 8th 2012, it was reported on Marvel TV News (a fan site) that Season 2 would be the last season of the show. A new Avengers show will premiere in 2013 called Avengers Assemble.[21] While the latter is true, as Marvel is developing a show called Avengers Assemble[22], there has been no official word on the show's cancellation, and it has been revealed that the original quote on Marvel TV News was a fabrication."

In other words, "REJOICE!"

Thanks the Heavens/Odin's beard, I was so much in for seeing the Surtur's saga, now there is a chance :)
