Samuel L. Jackson Unsure If He’s In THE AVENGERS 2

While the supposed salary dispute doesn't seem to affect Samuel L. Jackson, the Nick Fury actor says he’s yet to learn whether he’ll reprise The Avengers Director of S.H.I.E.L.D. role in the 2015 sequel!

In light of reports pitting Marvel Studios against some of its stars of The Avengers, fans are puzzled whether the alleged salary dispute could really result in some Marvel actors NOT returning for the sequel. However, that unlikely possibility doesn’t seem to faze Samuel L. Jackson. When Metro asked the Oscar-nominated thesp about reprising his role as Nick Fury, director of S.H.I.E.L.D., Jackson responded, “I don’t know. They don’t tell me that kind of stuff. All I know is that I am doing Captain America 2. It’s been cool. The Marvel universe continues to grow and get better. I think I have four or five pictures left on my nine-picture deal, so I will just keep showing up.”

Don’t fret! In an interview conducted before all the salary fuss, Kevin Feige reassured that “All of the Avengers from the first film will be back and they will be the core team.” Not sure if Nick Fury would be considered an Avenger, but it’s almost safe to say that Joss Whedon’s Avengers 2 outline includes the character that initiated the superhero assembly. Of course, with the S.H.I.E.L.D. organization and its director being featured heavily in Marvel’s Captain America: The Winter Soldier film next summer, a change may be in order for The Avengers 2; What do you think?

“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” picks up where “Marvel’s The Avengers” left off, as Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and teams up with Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, to battle a powerful yet shadowy enemy in present-day Washington, D.C. Starring Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Georges St-Pierre, Hayley Atwell, Toby Jones, Emily VanCamp and Maximiliano Hernández with Samuel L. Jackson and Robert Redford, “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is directed by the team of Anthony and Joe Russo from a screenplay written by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely and is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941. Marvel Studios’ President Kevin Feige is producing the film. Executive producers on the project include Alan Fine, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Michael Grillo and Stan Lee. The creative production team on the film includes director of photography Trent Opaloch, production designer Peter Wenham, editors Jeffrey Ford, A.C.E. and Mary Jo Markey, A.C.E. and three time Oscar®-nominated costume designer Judianna Makovsky. “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” is set for release on April 4, 2014. In addition to “Captain America: The Winter Soldier,” Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on other iconic Marvel characters including “Iron Man 3” on May 3, 2013; “Thor: The Dark World ” on November 8, 2013; “Guardians of the Galaxy” on August 1, 2014; “Marvel's The Avengers” sequel on May 1, 2015; and “Ant-Man” on November 6, 2015!

It's like as if everyone over there is in a giant limbo of confusion

-Still haven't announced plans for a Black Panther film.
-Are using Quicksilver and Scarlett Witch for Avengers 2
-Have no clue what's going on with Hulk
-Actors are greedy/worried about pay
-Unsure of Downey's presence within the films (Except Avengers 2)

Can't wait for...

Fantastic Four Reboot
X-Men: Days of Future Past
Amazing Spider-Man 2
Venom Spin Off

Marvel and Disney are really worring me.

Looking for some big payday I believe???
SpoonWielder - 5/13/2013, 11:18 PM
I honestly don't think SHIELD is necessary in a second Avengers movie. SHIELD helped form the team, but now they're their own thing.
SpoonWielder - 5/13/2013, 11:23 PM
And to you guys complaining about this, the movie is 2 years away! Didn't Whedon just finishing writing the FIRST draft of the script like a few weeks ago? Why would Sam Jackson know this soon?
BANE5000 - 5/13/2013, 11:43 PM
Im telling u, I noticed at the recent MTV Movie Awards, when The Avengers won Best Movie SLJ was standing between Evans and Hiddleston. When Whedon mentioned Avengers 2 and the crowd started cheering, SLJ pointed to Evans and Hiddleston but when it came to himself he gave the cut off sign to his neck.

Was he already hinting that he wasnt gonna be apart of it...Or that something may happen to Fury, as with a rumor that a major character was gonna die?

Wow. Way to jump to conclusions. Its still a couple years away and their just getting started with the script. Ridiculous I tell ya. Always with the crying.

Meanwhile, has dissected the Agents of S.H.E.I.L.D. trailer. Check it out:

So far, a new character has been identified. It's Rage, from the New Warriors. This means it's Rage that we see in the trailer played by J. August Richards.

Hahahahah some of you need to learn how to understand what you read. He said he was unsure of his return but "I think I have four or five pictures left on my nine-picture deal, so I will just keep showing up."...

blvdnoise - 5/14/2013, 6:57 AM
@ABARy They came up with that surprise cameo ending to IM on the fly. The contract(s) came after that..
Transforminator - 5/14/2013, 6:58 AM
@blvdnoise, he was missing his THor appearance, so it still makes it 4 movies left.

"I THINK I have four or five pictures left on my nine-picture deal, so I will just keep showing up.”

-So He's still right then lol
TheRationalNerd - 5/14/2013, 8:26 AM

Honestly I didn't read because I'm not on the hype wagon for Avengers 2! lol

Until I know exactly what the heck is going on I'll remain on hush! :)
TheRationalNerd - 5/14/2013, 8:28 AM
But then again I am looking towards seeing it! :D
exe - 5/14/2013, 1:08 PM
Iron Man 3 certainly isn't proof MCU is getting better lol
NinjaBaby - 5/14/2013, 1:17 PM
Fox and Sony who lost A LOT of the rights to SEVERAL Marvel characters...yeah we don't hear anything from them because I think all they have now is X-Men.

Just Sayin'
MatioShack - 5/14/2013, 3:10 PM
I'm not sure Marvel can hear your complaints over the sound of all of the money raining on their heads. I think Avengers might have made more than every X-Men movie combined. In fact, I know it did: All of the X-Men movies combined for $923,903,335 world wide box office. Avengers BY ITSELF (not including the other Marvel movies) made $1,511,757,910 world wide. Not thinking Marvel gives two sh!ts about you cry babies.

mgeoff88 - 5/14/2013, 7:11 PM
I'm sure he'll be in The Avengers 2.

The movie is a long ways off, so it's not surprising if Marvel/Disney hasn't told him anything yet.
IDKwhatToChoose - 5/14/2013, 7:54 PM
I am a fan of both Marvel & DC hence the name IDKwhattochoose. My question is why do the hardcore DC fans come onto EVERY Marvel related thread and say that Marvel doesn't have their crap together. Since Marvel Studios started pumping out movies we have so many of our childhood heroes on the big screen. DC has released 8 Superman and 8 Batman movies and a straight to DVD Green Lantern (I kid I kid, but it was terrible)

As a comic fan how could you not love Iron Man shooting Cap's shield in the Avengers and them combo-ing taking out some chitari.

Marvel is proving they are not afraid to bring their characters to the screen. I guarantee they have contingency plans to bring a new group of heroes to the screen if these ones leave. And guess what. Up and coming actors will ALWAYS take their money and be launched as a platform because Marvel is making kid friendly movies that parents can enjoy. It will not stop over RDJ... Ask Micheal Keaton.
