*Ahem* It's called having a national-world wide release date folks. I saw the Avengers rip on sites a mere 2 weeks before it came out on May 4, thank you Motha-[frick]a Russia!
marvel72 - 12/27/2012, 6:23 AM
i wished i had downloaded the dark knight rises before actually buying a ticket to see it.
NerdyGeek - 12/27/2012, 6:27 AM

SKOne - 12/27/2012, 6:29 AM
Huh, the most pirated and they still make a billion dollars each plus DVD/Blu-Ray and digital sales. That just can't be possible, someone alert the media(sarcasm).
TheGambitFreak - 12/27/2012, 6:37 AM
No TASM? guess the "Amazing" wasn't so Spectacular after all....

bazinga85 - 12/27/2012, 6:40 AM
Haha, zing:)
Jolt17 - 12/27/2012, 6:47 AM
So, there are people who actually want to download The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn, Part 1. I mean, sure, you get to see the movie without paying for it...but even if it's free, why would you want to bring the torture upon yourself?

Anyway, this isn't surprising. It's the internet we're talking about, after all.
LEEE777 - 12/27/2012, 6:50 AM
MARVEL72 @ LMAO :pppp

Damn, last pirate movie I got was Pirates of the Caribbean 4 lol... yeah jokes don't get no better : D

LEEE777 - 12/27/2012, 6:52 AM
Jolt @ Very true lol, Twilight I couldn't even get past the second movie let alone Breaking Dawn part um 1
LEEE777 - 12/27/2012, 6:53 AM
The Dictator, damn still gotta see that one
Greengo - 12/27/2012, 6:57 AM
That's a lot of mofo money y'all.

Pretty f'd up theiving ass mofo's.

Is it as bad to pay for a movie at the theater watch it and when it's over sneak into another movie?

Maximus101 - 12/27/2012, 7:01 AM
Well where I live it's ok to download but as long as I don't sell and distribute them.
pieralnett - 12/27/2012, 7:14 AM
I feel bad for the people that pirated TDKR.
jessepostal - 12/27/2012, 7:16 AM
All in all, mostly bad movies are being pirated
Invictor - 12/27/2012, 7:20 AM
I remember X-Men Origins: Wolverine getting pirated badly, a pal of mine gave me the film before the film hit the theaters.
CaptainObvious - 12/27/2012, 7:25 AM
I'm glad Project X is the most pirated film of the year. It's the worst movie I have seen in 2012.
opusrandy - 12/27/2012, 7:26 AM
a quick breakdown... Project X makes approximately $101 million. It's downloaded 8,720,000 times. Average movie ticket price is $8.

8 X 8,720,000 = 69,760,000

This movie would have nearly doubled it's profits if not for pirating. It's not necessarily "hurting" the industry, but it sure as hell is not helping in any way
webheaded - 12/27/2012, 7:27 AM
What a shame... Great movies and the great people that worked so hard on them don't deserve that thievery. Who in the right mind would choose seeing TDKR/Avengers in their bed on their crappy computer over experiencing it in IMAX?
Luko - 12/27/2012, 7:30 AM
And so???
jessepostal - 12/27/2012, 7:38 AM
Just because people pirated the movie doesn't mean they would have went to see it at the theatre, you can't look at it as it lost x amount of dollars due to pirating.
JokerEl - 12/27/2012, 7:40 AM
Haha.. TDKR was damn popular!

siggisuperman - 12/27/2012, 8:28 AM
I pirated The Avengers and TDKR. I also paid to see them in the theatre, even paid twice to see The Avengers. I have them both on blue-ray now as well. Piracy doesn't harm the film industry at all. The people who are losing money from piracy were all making waaay to much money anyway..
DEATHbyEXILE - 12/27/2012, 8:52 AM
Fray - 12/27/2012, 9:13 AM
Well, for me, seeing certain movies that I'm pretty sure will suck--like The Dark Knight Rises--online instead of in the theater has actually helped me in deciding whether or not I'll buy it on Blu-Ray the day it comes out (like The Amazing Spider-Man--hey, say what you will, but it was a lot better that I expected). So the studios are still getting my money regardless.
Maia87 - 12/27/2012, 9:15 AM
I saw TDKR in theaters then I downloaded it. Same for Avengers.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 12/27/2012, 9:31 AM
I saw Rises 3 times. Then I pirated it a week before it came out on blu ray.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 12/27/2012, 9:32 AM
Saw spider-man and avengers once and pirated it a week before those movies came out on blu ray as well.
themcdougalbugle - 12/27/2012, 9:36 AM
I have to download Twilight to do a review of it.
TheAbomination - 12/27/2012, 9:37 AM
Project X was the most pirated movie of the year? Weird. I expected TDKR and Avengers to be at the top of the list. Anyway, I just finished downloading the Avengers. I might download TDKR later this week.
Maximus101 - 12/27/2012, 9:39 AM
I see most movies in theaters then download most movies as soon as they are available in at least decent quality.
TheAbomination - 12/27/2012, 9:40 AM
Also, I find it weird how both TDKR and Avengers are in the top 10 on this list and they both STILL made a billion worldwide. Hollywood can shut the f*uck up with this "pirating is ruining our industry" bullshit.
RPD - 12/27/2012, 9:44 AM
Project X's gross is the only thing that surprises me. Why would anyone want to watch that crap?
ADomenick91092 - 12/27/2012, 10:01 AM
@SuspenseSmith That's also because they just came out and there are no decent copies available online. Just awful cam copies that look like they were recorded with a cell phone. I'd assume The Hobbit would be on the list had it come out a few months earlier.

Also, the fact that anyone actually wanted to see Project X, even for free, is disturbing.
jaewest215 - 12/27/2012, 10:07 AM
These numbers are scewed. The list is from ONE website.
jaewest215 - 12/27/2012, 10:08 AM
@ SuspenseSmith - I agree with your second point because I did the same thing.
Greengo - 12/27/2012, 10:39 AM
Listen to all you scallywags trying to justify your blatant theivery.

There is no justification or excuse for steeling.

You know it's a bad thing to do that's why you attempt to justify it.

How bout just stop being a theiving piece of shit? Try that on for size.

marvel72 - 12/27/2012, 11:14 AM
@ banesmash

exactly,i personally didn't think much of the dark knight rises but i loved the avengers.

you didn't like the avengers but probably loved the dark knight rises, see we all have different opinions on movies.

it seems some people can take other peoples opinions better than others.
StrangerX - 12/27/2012, 11:32 AM
To be honest Ive seen both TDKR and The Avengers in theaters more than once, and i still pirated the movie
Greengo - 12/27/2012, 11:38 AM
jessepostal - 12/27/2012, 12:15 PM
i saw tdkr and avengers twice in theaters, downloaded both great telesync copies, bought tdkr broken cowl edition and avengers 3d pack, each movie got well over 50 bucks a piece from me. Is downloading them right or wrong??
