And as part of those descending efforts, the Second Screen app has been updated with more material. Joining the multiple collections of never-before-seen still photos from Marvel’s The Avengers production previously posted, a new behind-the-scenes featurette has surfaced in addition to concept art and...more photos. Check them out!

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. You know what? All this makes me wanna go watch it again.

I'm gonna go do just that, actually.
Jollem - 10/4/2012, 12:22 AM
still wish thor didn't get punked by iron man in the fight in the woods. i know rdjr. demands top-billing and all, but, c'mon. thor's supposed to be a god
santoanderson - 10/4/2012, 12:35 AM
Hehe. Look at Scarlett riding that dude..... that sounds dirty....
JerBear - 10/4/2012, 12:37 AM
But... Thor was clearly destroying Iron Man in that fight. Thor left unscathed, Iron Man on the other hand...
BlueDemon - 10/4/2012, 12:44 AM
@Jollem- I agree, but then Thor went toe to toe against The Hulk and showed what a bad ass he was.
Jollem - 10/4/2012, 12:52 AM
@JerBear - thor clearly destroying iron man? we must have watched different versions :) thor left unscathed, but still smacked around by something that should have not smacked him around

@BlueDemon - at least they made up for it in that way. by all means of that fight in the woods, iron man probably would be able to give the hulk a run for his money :)
damntree - 10/4/2012, 1:12 AM
Thor always holds back.

Jollem - 10/4/2012, 1:21 AM
@damntree - and i was just about to go to sleep. i don't think that's possible now
Jollem - 10/4/2012, 1:46 AM
@drax94 - iron man was smacking around thor before being juiced up. and being at 400% would just mean that there is 4x the battery life. nothing to do with making the titanium more dense or the mechanics to move at an ungodly speed

imo, that fight was clearly a case of thor's character being smacked around by rdjr.'s ego
rosco71 - 10/4/2012, 1:54 AM
I'm getting a projector soon and this will be the first film I'll watch!
christianroch - 10/4/2012, 2:37 AM
Not the good actor for Cap. , too skinny!
CorronZenith30 - 10/4/2012, 2:41 AM
Awesome!... hired the Avengers on BR a month ago and still cant get enough of this stuff!

Niuhll - 10/4/2012, 2:42 AM
I think it served as a lesson to Thor, he decided he was protector of earth and didn't realise that there were people who could defend themselves here, so he went into that fight expecting to walk it.

That's why Iron Man had the upper hand for however long, it was Thor getting over his cockyness and the fight didn't quite last long enough for Thor to rip him apart, though he took a hell of a beating, armor battered etc.
BlackFlash - 10/4/2012, 2:46 AM
I think the reason why some people including myself are a little upset by that fight is because we've seen the comic book fight, where Thor makes Iron Man look like a toy and beats the sh!t out of him.

Can someone tell me why Chris Hemsworth has a stunt double because every time I see a clip or picture he is doing any of the stunts.
CorronZenith30 - 10/4/2012, 2:55 AM
@Niuhll - Hell of a beating?? I would say he was caught by surprise by an earthling in a metal suit.. but took a "hell of a beating" not sure I agree. Thor took a repulser blast to the face without a scratch, was head-butted with a harder titanium coating again without a scratch and gave some back!
CorronZenith30 - 10/4/2012, 2:59 AM
i personally thing Thor seemed under powered in the Avengers... but at the same time if Joss 100% reflected the comic-book it would have made Iron man look like a "Toy"
thalidomide - 10/4/2012, 3:48 AM
The last pic is wallpaper worthy.

I think I'm going to watch this again later.
CorronZenith30 - 10/4/2012, 3:50 AM
Seriously thalidomide? Cheers mate
Gary8264 - 10/4/2012, 3:51 AM
I thought they had Thor tough as Hell.... Iron man 400% was lucky to get outta the fight in one peice, in fact 400% was the only thin' that kept him in the fight.
Took a repulser blast to the face, didn't hurt him. Sandpapered against a mountain, still no affect.
Went toe to toe with the Hulk... 'nuff said.
Fell from the Hellacarrier in the cage, broke free, and dug up a crap load of ground when he hit the ground.

CorronZenith30 - 10/4/2012, 4:01 AM
@Gary8264 - hmmmm kinda have-to agree with most of that :-)but still I don't think we've seen the prince of thunder at this hight yet... not by a long bloody shot
marvel72 - 10/4/2012, 4:57 AM
seeing that concept art i'm tempted to buy the avengers art of the avengers book.
toco89 - 10/4/2012, 4:58 AM
Chris Hemsworth is huge.
Niuhll - 10/4/2012, 5:13 AM
@corron Iron Man, took a hell of a beating, not Thor.
AztecRainGod - 10/4/2012, 5:28 AM
Thor was definitely underdone by Whedon. Joss doesnt seem to like Thor very much, judging by the jokes at Thors expense.

They did have to depower Thor somehow though, otherwise, this would have been "Thor and the rest of the heroes" instead of "the Avengers"

If you watch closely, Thor is never the same after getting stabbed by Loki.
AztecRainGod - 10/4/2012, 5:31 AM
Thor attempting to pancake Captain America. Completely out of character and a bad choice by Whedon.

If that shield was made out of anything else, Cap would have been atomized.
AztecRainGod - 10/4/2012, 5:31 AM
Thor would never have done that, especially after vowing to protect earth.
Niuhll - 10/4/2012, 5:42 AM
Thor's exposure to Earth was a handful of people, his vow to protect Earth was largely Jane Foster, he spent a handful of days on Earth, how can he know what is a threat and what isn't at that point?

On top of vowing to protect his brother who should serve his punishment on Asgard. It's all a learning curve. He learns who is allies are. He learns to be a team player.

People say there was no character development, I disagree.
Darkhaven - 10/4/2012, 5:46 AM
The last three concept art pics are [frick]ing eye meltingly amazing.
CorronZenith30 - 10/4/2012, 5:49 AM
@Niuhll - so sorry man just realised the mistake :-)
ClarkFarley2012 - 10/4/2012, 5:51 AM
The gag reel on the DVD is too funny. I enjoyed watching this movie again.
Niuhll - 10/4/2012, 5:56 AM
No worries, I worded it badly. I'd say it was an even fight though, if Cap hadn't step in Thor would have had it.
lokibane2012 - 10/4/2012, 6:07 AM
5'8 RDJ is rocking some pretty massive shoe-lifts here to look eye-to-eye with 6'0 Chris Evans.

wtf Whedon? RDJ's fine as he is. Between this and Guy Ritchie making him wear lifts for Sherlock, RDJ must feel pretty shitty about the whole thing.

MrReese - 10/4/2012, 6:20 AM
I just wanna c Thor fly more FFS!!! I agree with whoever said we haven't seen him in all of his glory maybe in Thor TDW he'll let loose. XD
silverdog - 10/4/2012, 6:32 AM
that's one lucky stuntman on the third pic....
Niuhll - 10/4/2012, 6:32 AM
One. Yes he is mighty. Point?

Two. How was it senseless? He cares for his brother, reasoning with him to the end, he sees it as his duty to not only protect Loki but punish him as well. Then, boom, sideswiped by Iron Man, who started kicking his ass. Self defence.

Three. How many mortals does Thor now that are red and gold, made of metal and packed to the brim with weapons? He couldn't of known what Iron Man was capable of.

Four. Yes, and that is Thor and Loki's mistake. Yeah they are stronger, but humans CAN fight for themselves, they are capable of great feats and great sacrifice. They are, in other ways capable of being strong, through science (Iron Man, Hulk, Cap).

And to add my own. Five. The whole reason he hit Cap, was the juxtapose it with Thor saving caps ass and help him up later on. They don't just get on and respect each other off the bat, Thor is a warrior, honour is earned.
Niuhll - 10/4/2012, 6:34 AM
Huh, he deleted it. Now it looks like im arguing with nobody...
toco89 - 10/4/2012, 6:45 AM

Then you'd be wrong. Or would like to go see any interview of Sir Kenneth Branagh to see how he sidesteps questions of Thor's character and the plot of a movie.

The man has become a consumate filmaker but you can see the regret in his eyes for taking this film. They didn't let him do anything. It had the Branagh touch here and there, but it was a marvel movie. But at least he got a big mainstream job and handled it with great class which bodes well for future large endeavors. Not that he needed the reputation boost. Marvel was very lucky to have him, then proceeded to miss the point of hiring him entirely.

As far as Thor attacking Cap lik that, definetely Whedon's folly.

"how can he know what is a threat and what isn't at that point?"

One, he's the mightiest of the gods aside from Odin after the Odinsleep. Two, he just went through a great amount of shocking events and was shown to not only greatly regret what he'd done in Jotunhiem(even though he felt justified and in a way he was but not start a war, but yes to look for answers, even though Odin told him there was a better way) but was now against senseless fighting.

Three, yes he's hot tempered, and yes he was being attacked but what had just happened to him would make anybody stop and think before unleashing his power on mortals.

Four, in the conversation that Stark interrupted, both Loki and Thor ackno edged the difference in power between them and the people of

Whedon didn't give this scene the care it needed, it's as simple as that. The same can be said for a lot of scenes in the movie. It's this kinda of mistake that brings me back to hiring him on the basis that he's familiar with the genre is not a enough of a reason.

There are plenty of directors who could've done this movie, and you'd have to royally [frick]ed it up for it to had not been a success.
toco89 - 10/4/2012, 6:49 AM

I apoligize about deleting it, my internet is being erratic.

But, again, you didn't counter any of my points. I think you read it too fast. I welcome the debate.
Niuhll - 10/4/2012, 6:54 AM
I didn't get time to read it :P aha.
toco89 - 10/4/2012, 7:03 AM

I think he'll be ok. Him being good looking, intelligent, talented, successful, rich, heading two(three if you wanna separate avengers from Iron Man) incredibly successful franchises(sherlock holmes being the other) and making even more money from his production company that is involved in SH as well as their own projects.

'What lifts? Yeah sure whatever.' lol
