THE AVENGERS Nabs "Choice Summer Movie: Action" Prize At Teen Choice Awards 2012

ATrueHero1987 - 7/23/2012, 5:33 PM
The Avengers was a GREAT movie. Great acting, great character development, and great action.
Established92 - 7/23/2012, 5:33 PM
I liked it but I think its overrated; wasn't as great as I expected, was pretty simplistic and Cap looked like a walking, talking giant blue dildo... In my opinion it was in need of being a tiny bit more grounded like The Incredible Hulk and Iron Man, here's hoping Marvel rectify their mistakes for any future projects...
brewtownpsych - 7/23/2012, 5:36 PM
i'm not sure what all the hubbub is about ... avengers is clearly tailored to a younger audience. it just is.

some older people who like the movie somehow don't appreciate this obvious fact i think in part because they feel like it somehow diminishes their taste or that this fact somehow suggests that they too have childlike tastes ... well, i'm not sure what conclusions can be drawn from the fact that the avengers is clearly geared toward a younger audience. it just is. there is no use being defensive about it.
GoILL - 7/23/2012, 5:37 PM
@Established92 lol at your Cap observation...really enjoyed The Avengers.
marvel72 - 7/23/2012, 5:39 PM
not exactly the greatest award to win,i suppose its better than nothing.
santoanderson - 7/23/2012, 5:42 PM
Yeah, I wouldn't be proud of any Academy that gives Kristen Stewart the award for Best Actress...
Scion - 7/23/2012, 5:47 PM
These kids have a lot to learn!
superotherside - 7/23/2012, 5:48 PM
Cool. Not that this award means anything. LOL. Although Abduction did have some cool stuff in it, it was mainly boring for an action movie.
Steping - 7/23/2012, 5:49 PM
Gromblidor - 7/23/2012, 5:50 PM
And why wouldn't kids love it? This is the Avengers movie that I dreamed of as a kid. We should all be thankful that we are finally getting to see descent comic book movies. Stop arguing over which ones are better or which ones are for kids. Just enjoy these movies like you enjoyed reading or even just looking at the comic books when you were a kid. Adults are miserable. I should know, I am one of them 40 hours a week and it sucks.
spideyxmenfan307 - 7/23/2012, 5:52 PM
Geez, I can't imagine Twilight breaking both the avengers and tdkr box office records.
brewtownpsych - 7/23/2012, 5:54 PM
@herald ... there is no way in hell my father would go to see the avengers. he wouldn't want to see the TDKR either but that's because it's too loud. he did finally get around to watching TDK however, though I don't think he liked it.
dahamma - 7/23/2012, 6:04 PM
I hate these awards lol Twilight wins everything by default. The majority is based upon teenage girls anyway lol

Anyway The Avengers is the best CBM this year so I hope it wins more credible awards.
brewtownpsych - 7/23/2012, 6:09 PM
@herald ... well we can agree to disagree. but you are never going to convince me that the Avengers and TDKR were designed with the same audiences in mind. seriously dude ... i'm not sure i even can bother to explain if you don't see that as readily apparent. but oh well ...
Bodwulf - 7/23/2012, 6:09 PM
This is the only way the Avengers could have been any better!
Only one Iron Man, Robert Downey Jr as both Stark and Rhodey
Bodwulf - 7/23/2012, 6:13 PM
Double the Downey!
FightAs0ne - 7/23/2012, 6:14 PM
So I suppose all you Nolanites forgot when TDK was also nominated for that same area when it came out in 08 AND it was also nominated in the MTV movie awards so dont give me that BS about different movies different tones..People are gonna like what they wanna like and hate what they wanna hate DEAL WITH IT!
CPBuff22 - 7/23/2012, 7:32 PM
I wonder what the total number of awards Avengers will reap this year will be. I am sure it will be a HUGE number.
Azrael725 - 7/23/2012, 7:40 PM
the teen choice awards used to be kinda cool . . . but now its just for girls. its actually almost an insult to win along with those other films lol not saying avengers sucked i actually loved it and one of my favorite films of the year. :) i just hate the teen choice awards.
JoeMomma29 - 7/23/2012, 7:40 PM
LOL Vega and Intruder two little Avengerlites always Trolling on this site!

I am not sure how TDKR bombed??? Third highest opening weekend not tooooo shabby if you ask me.

In the grand scheme to things who give two shits what Avengers or TDKR wins! Some cheesy sensless awards that are more than likely bought by the big fat cats who run the movie studios.
JoeMomma29 - 7/23/2012, 7:48 PM
@ Ckal so what you are saying is watching the Avengers is like riding a moped, it is fun till your friends see you on one?

Hey Avengers was a fun movie it was great! I am glad to see that come to the silver screen, and I cannot wait till the next one. I just hope they do not frick it up!
annguyen1988 - 7/23/2012, 7:48 PM
@Uncliche: The Dark Knight got nominations at MTV Movie Awards, Kids' Choice Awards, and Teen Choice Awards, too. So they are on the same page with Twilight, right?
breakneckbeck - 7/23/2012, 8:01 PM
Lol the worst award show on the planet
myparentsaredead - 7/23/2012, 8:11 PM

Tony93 - 7/23/2012, 9:05 PM
horrible., I hate this..
flames809 - 7/23/2012, 9:56 PM
@JStark yet both movie werent aware of it, and they did it differently very different. Also i saw the avengers and i been waiting for it since ironman cameout, while i was watching it i thought it was going to be what everyone said very good, but it wasnt very good it was just ok, and yes it was aimed at kids because it felt like a kids movie. The story was ok, the action were the only good things in it,and loki wasnt that evil. Acting was good but story lacked. While watching it i also wonder what the [frick] has loki been? which they didnt explain at all. It also felt like everything happen to damn quick well the beginning of the movie happen qucik of loki taking over. And dude the dark knight rises is just starting to make money, it beat the avengers opening right? So then shut up about it. And im a marvel and dc fan but my favorite comic book movies out now is the batman one.

And also yea the dark knight was in those other awards but it was also in the oscars, so yea. even with the amount of money the avengers made which was good i do not think it will be in the oscars. And then another difference between the dark knight and the avengers is one tells a better story than the other. but i cant wait for the avengers 2 i hope they pick up on some of the lacking parts in the first to make a better one. and congrats on his win
EasternWind - 7/23/2012, 11:14 PM
I don't put much stock in the Teen Choice Awards, but I am glad Avengers won.
MadTitan - 7/23/2012, 11:57 PM
