The Long, Long Road to a Movie

The Long, Long Road to a Movie

We see a trailer sometimes 2 or 3 years before the film! Is this good practice or does it lead to problems?

Do you remember seeing the title of a brand new film outside your local cinema? Do you remember seeing a trailer before the main feature, of a film you'd never heard off before? This days we get trailers maybe 2 or 3 years before the film is released! Is this a good thing? Is it bad? It certainly gives people time to either fall in love with it or to condem it to an early death? The upcoming Avengers line up is already splitting the audience, if the film came out tomorrow we would all go see it, as it is, those unhappy with the omission of, say, the Wasp may not bother with it. Is the teaser doing more harm then good? Lets discuss:

Its kinda of not even a trailer... Its just Samuel talking with the Avengers symbol popping up.

Did I get excited after watching it? Not really... Does the trailer make me hate the film? No...

Im definately gonna see this film but I sorta want a better teaser trailer than the one we have right now.

A certain tone to the movie is set by Sam's voice. Nice to hear classic lines put to a voice. A major character for the movie to boot!!! Peaks an interest for more. I guess it has done it's job!!!
