UPDATE: New Photos Of Stan Lee And Chris Evans On The Set Of The Avengers!

We've seen half his head concealed by a lamppost, and a couple of far off photos, but hit the jump for these fantastic shots of Stan "The Man" Lee filming his The Avengers cameo alongside Chris Evans...

Continuing the epic big-screen adventures started in "Iron Man," "The Incredible Hulk," "Iron Man 2," "Thor," and "Captain America: The First Avenger," "Marvel’s The Avengers" is the super hero team up of a lifetime. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1963, "Marvel’s The Avengers" brings together the mightiest super hero characters as they all assemble together on screen for the first time. The star studded cast of super heroes will be joined by Cobie Smulders as Agent Maria Hill of S.H.I.E.L.D., as well as Tom Hiddleston and Stellan Skarsgård.

Many thanks to Getty Images for the following photos from the New York set.

Ric - 9/4/2011, 5:03 AM
I think Stan's cameo is at the very beginning of the movie or at the end ...

jazzman - 9/4/2011, 6:14 AM

InFamouslyCool - 9/4/2011, 6:15 AM
LOL There goes the surprise.

The stylist that does Evans hair should be executed.
njferns - 9/4/2011, 6:17 AM
In pic #3 Cap is looking at the chick like as if there weren't any hot blonde waitresses in his time! Wait a minute- were there?

ROMACK - 9/4/2011, 6:38 AM
It is going to be a sad,sad day day for fanboys everywhere when Stan Lee leaves us. :(
MissMystique - 9/4/2011, 6:39 AM
Damn, Stan the Man is ROCKINGGGG!!!

God bless that man :)

@EditNinja LOL funny pic you`ve got there
MissMystique - 9/4/2011, 6:41 AM
@ROMACK Ohh nooo, dont say that :( He is the best, man.
ciscokid56 - 9/4/2011, 7:01 AM

Rogers will be low-key in his appearance. Did you really expect a Shaun White hoodie and spiky, jelled hair? He's wearing something similar to a circa WW2 Army Air Corps flight jacket and his hair is straight up 40's (or actually just "full grown man", from virtually any time period. They're quite obviously (to everyone else) maintaining the look from "his" time.

Stan Lee is obviously playing a member of the Yancy Street Gang....

Stan Lee revealed to be Uatu, now that's a freaking brilliant idea..
EarOne - 9/4/2011, 7:44 AM
i'm just glad they're able to make this happen while Stan's still around and does a cameo in it. hooray for Marvel!!!
AlanWarlock - 9/4/2011, 8:01 AM
They should have had Joe Simon in "CA:TFA." Too bad Jack "King" Kirby's not around to reap the same media attention as Stan "the Man" Lee.
LucasMend - 9/4/2011, 8:02 AM
the good of Stan cameos is never knowing in what scene he is gonna appear, now it is spoiled to me :(
@EditNinja LOL
MGS - 9/4/2011, 8:23 AM
Both Chris and Stan have something in common... thry're both wearing wigs. Yes, Evans has thinning hair and admits it. As for Stan, I can't wait to see him at NYCC next month!
screechop - 9/4/2011, 8:38 AM
I don't think chris evans has gotten smaller. I think it's the new suit. Just cause we havn't seen any pictures of him in a tight white shield t-shirt doesn't mean he's any smaller.
bbarber2323 - 9/4/2011, 8:39 AM
I met Stan at SDCC. Such a nice man,and very funny! He loved my tattoos and called them "fabulous"!! I was honored!!
MissMystique - 9/4/2011, 8:40 AM
kes, you should see him in Shutter island, he was BRILLIANT. I think that was one of his best roles Ive ever seen from Ruffalo.
Zombie137 - 9/4/2011, 9:02 AM
It would be cool if Stan was a soldier from WW2 that runs into Cap.
MikeHawk - 9/4/2011, 9:03 AM
I bet Stan is playing himself! or at least an old man who actually lived during Cap's era and is gonna retell Steve about everything that happened while he was frozen!
MikeHawk - 9/4/2011, 9:03 AM
Cool idea Zombie137
Every1Hooked - 9/4/2011, 9:34 AM
is he a living bucky?
Floke - 9/4/2011, 10:16 AM
The One Above All? In the last Marvel movie ever, it cuts to every cameo before he says, Nuff said, and saves the universe with a twitch of his moustache.
MikeHawk - 9/4/2011, 10:29 AM
lol the one thing continuity in films dont apply for is Stan :)
njferns - 9/4/2011, 11:48 AM
ok I'm wondering why was my comment "abusive content"...
LoudLon - 9/4/2011, 1:22 PM
It's a spam label, NJ. I'd imagine it's because of your sig link.
Cartoon22 - 9/4/2011, 2:17 PM
all they really had to do was make the blue the same blue as the helmet and boom super badass CAP

Uploaded with ImageShack.us
shiftysharp - 9/4/2011, 2:44 PM
loving the masonic handshake :D
SecretApprentice71 - 9/4/2011, 3:04 PM
Cap seems to look more badass with out the helmet than with with it, i'm hopeful though.

Btw, Stan and cap sitting together like that looks really cool for some reason.
HULK2099 - 9/4/2011, 4:59 PM
he took off his glasses :-o you know that means something epic
meatbag - 9/4/2011, 5:43 PM
Yes, Stan Lee is Bucky! I love the irony! But no, it's probably more like when he turns to Spiderman and sawy, "I guess one man can make a difference," or some inspiring sh!t like that.
InFamouslyCool - 9/4/2011, 9:15 PM

Um.. ok, thank you? LOL
Cartoon22 - 9/4/2011, 10:44 PM
i guess nobody saw my edit pic with the old helmet
Cartoon22 - 9/4/2011, 10:45 PM
maybe i did such a great job that nobody notices that its from the first avenger
genenyc - 9/4/2011, 10:54 PM
Yes Cartoon22, the helmet from TFA was definitely cool and would've worked nicely with the new costume. We can only pray that the camera angles used give Cap's uniform a less nerdy appearance on the big screen.
