UPDATE: THE AVENGERS New Promotion Roundup; S.H.I.E.L.D Cars, Fast-Food And More

UPDATE: THE AVENGERS New Promotion Roundup; S.H.I.E.L.D Cars, Fast-Food And More

Make the jump for the latest roundup of vague news regarding the marketing campaign for Marvel's The Avengers, including Acura's reveal of new SHIELD vehicles, Tony Stark's car and More!

Following the launch of their 30-second TV spot and SHIELD Ops microsite, Acura, the official vehicle of S.H.I.E.L.D., has further showcased marketing in anticipation for Marvel's The Avengers movie. Revealing an on-set image of the militarized S.H.I.E.L.D.-Edition MDX aboard the helicarrier, and displaying it at the 2012 New York Auto Show in addition to Tony Stark's customized NSX Concept car, check out images below!

“Acura is developing an impressive second chapter as the official vehicle of the cutting-edge S.H.I.E.L.D. organization, enabling us to reinforce Acura’s brand philosophy of innovation and advancement, and leverage excitement for the new ILX, RDX and NSX supercar concept product news announced earlier this year,” says Acura Brand Manager. On April 11 at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood, a surprise special stunt is planned to make an impactful, red-carpet entrance. A fleet of Acura vehicles will also be used as talent transportation during the premiere.

Although many sponsors that Marvel Studios partnered with for previous movies are returning for this year's big-screen outing, it seems 7-Eleven may not be supplying collectible slurpee cups this time around. However, showcasing a partnership with a well-known service station overseas in the Philippines, Petron Corporation will be offering something fairly similar; limited edition action tumblers!

Similar to Petron promoting the film more heavily than 7-Eleven, overseas, Brazilian fast-food chain Habib has taken over for Burger King, who last partnered with Marvel Studios for Thor. Cooking up a 200g beef burger patty given the name "Avenger", and offering an assortment of goodies, including models, DVDs and metallic glasses, check out two Brazilian television ads and promotional photos below!

I stumbled across a couple more promotional efforts, less pivotal, that you check hit below!

UPDATE: A humongous wraparound billboard has been spotted in Feria Artesanal Santa Lucia, Santiago, Chile.

Marvel Studios presents in association with Paramount Pictures “Marvel’s The Avengers”--the super hero team up of a lifetime, featuring iconic Marvel super heroes Iron Man, the Incredible Hulk, Thor, Captain America, Hawkeye and Black Widow. When an unexpected enemy emerges that threatens global safety and security, Nick Fury, Director of the international peacekeeping agency known as S.H.I.E.L.D., finds himself in need of a team to pull the world back from the brink of disaster. Spanning the globe, a daring recruitment effort begins.

Starring Robert Downey, Jr., Chris Evans, Mark Ruffalo, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson, Jeremy Renner and Samuel L. Jackson, & directed by Joss Whedon from a screenplay by Joss Whedon, “Marvel’s The Avengers” is based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series “The Avengers,” first published in 1963 and a comics institution ever since. Prepare yourself for an exciting event movie, packed with action and spectacular special effects, when “Marvel’s The Avengers” assemble on May 4, 2012. The film is distributed by Walt Disney Studios Motion Pictures. In addition to "Marvel's The Avengers," Marvel Studios will release a slate of films based on the Marvel characters including "Iron Man 3" on May 3, 2013!; and “Thor 2” on November 15, 2013.

deadpool4 - 4/7/2012, 5:15 PM
cap looks to wierd and buff there
CoolantTech - 4/7/2012, 5:24 PM
Cap looks like the immature bloated dork you would pay to dress up as Cap at the 6 year olds B-day party in that last pic
TheGambitFreak - 4/7/2012, 5:36 PM
Why did they photoshop his neck out? It's like when you paste an image onto Microsoft Word and you resize it and it's all smushed.
TheGambitFreak - 4/7/2012, 5:37 PM
He is really that buff, they just photoshopped his head on there for some asinine reason.
R888 - 4/7/2012, 5:43 PM
Cap looks better here then that shot

someone photoshop him bad
Cartoon22 - 4/7/2012, 6:42 PM

headlopper - 4/7/2012, 7:39 PM
Habib? WTF is Habib?
TheMadman - 4/7/2012, 7:56 PM
Cap's head looks like it was originally facing toward the shield and not at the viewer - but they photoshopped.
pinoyavenger - 4/7/2012, 8:00 PM

I'd like to point out that while Petron beat 7-Eleven here in the Philippines, 7-Eleven is still running an Avengers promo:

pinoyavenger - 4/7/2012, 8:00 PM
Oh. How do you post images here?
pinoyavenger - 4/7/2012, 8:01 PM
pinoyavenger - 4/7/2012, 8:02 PM
Never mind. Got it. Sorry for the multiple replies.
DCMarvelFreshman - 4/7/2012, 8:06 PM
@pinoyavenger That's true, but I don't think they're making slurpee cups this time around. They'd usually have them up by now.
thalidomide - 4/7/2012, 8:08 PM
17 days!!!!
pinoyavenger - 4/7/2012, 8:33 PM
7-Eleven Phils. also launched Facebook app:

pinoyavenger - 4/7/2012, 8:36 PM
@DCMarvelFreshman From what I've heard, they're not making special plastic cups/tumblers like what Petron did, but the usual cardboard Slurpee/Gulp cups will have the Avengers designs on them. Will share a photo if I get one.
JDUKE25 - 4/7/2012, 8:36 PM
I'll take the Thor cup.
WOLVERINEDECADE - 4/7/2012, 8:40 PM
@DCMarvelFreshman and PinoyAvenger

when i saw that Petron Avengers cup here in our city, i got myself ready purchasing all of em coz its only 60 pesos per cup! But the catch is that you have to first make a 1,000-peso purchase on gasoline before you could buy the cup/s. DAMN Promotions!!!! DAMN!!!!!!!!!!!!
pinoyavenger - 4/7/2012, 8:46 PM
Yeah, there's the rub!
Well, if you're the daily traveler type and you fill up your tank at least once a week for the next month or so, you can manage to get all 4 cups.
A friend of mine got all four just by filling up for one long road trip!
WOLVERINEDECADE - 4/7/2012, 8:58 PM
Im still looking for any friend of mine who would be kind enough to be on a road trip and fill his tank w/ so much gasoline so that i could coach him to go for petron and let me buy all those tumblers. still unsuccesful, though... :'(
MadTitan - 4/7/2012, 10:07 PM
nice billboard ads there.

MadTitan - 4/7/2012, 10:09 PM

7-11 promos....I've got about a case and a half of full cup sleeves sitting in my place from IM,IM2,and Thor, and the standees used to promote IM,IM2, and Wolverine:Origins. Honestly, they take up a lotta room...lol One of the perks to being an employee: Taking home swag when it goes off-sale...
NeoBaggins - 4/8/2012, 6:29 AM
They still have Destroyer straws at at least two 7-11's around here. I keep saying I'm going to get one. Probably prcrastinate until they're gone. I could probably get them for free if I just asked.
GUNSMITH - 4/8/2012, 8:05 AM

ironpool007 - 4/8/2012, 9:07 AM
What about 7-11, Burger King, and McDonald's. I have all of the cups for Iron Man 1 and 2. Hell, when Iron Man 2 came out, I stopped at a 7-11 one day and picked up on of each character's cups in both sizes. Plus I have an large Iron Man/ War Machine cup from Burger King. And I have a small Captain America cup, as well as the tri cup.
MrPagBrewster - 4/8/2012, 10:08 AM
@TelaVizion because Fox sucks, the same goes for sony.
AztecRainGod - 4/8/2012, 10:15 AM
Those cups are epic.
Genaro - 4/8/2012, 12:08 PM

Dartanian300 - 4/8/2012, 12:35 PM
