13-Minute Featurette For THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Released

13-Minute Featurette For THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Released

Featuring tons of interviews, behind the scenes footage and much more, hit the jump to check out this new 13-minute featurette for Christopher Nolan-directed film The Dark Knight Rises...

It has been eight years since Batman vanished into the night, turning, in that instant, from hero to fugitive. Assuming the blame for the death of D.A. Harvey Dent, the Dark Knight sacrificed everything for what he and Commissioner Gordon both hoped was the greater good. For a time the lie worked, as criminal activity in Gotham City was crushed under the weight of the anti-crime Dent Act. But everything will change with the arrival of a cunning cat burglar with a mysterious agenda. Far more dangerous, however, is the emergence of Bane, a masked terrorist whose ruthless plans for Gotham drive Bruce out of his self-imposed exile. But even if he dons the cape and cowl again, Batman may be no match for Bane.

Starring Christian Bale, Anne Hathaway, Tom Hardy, Michael Caine, Gary Oldman, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Marion Cotillard and Morgan Freeman, The Dark Knight Rises is set to hit theatres on July 20, 2012.

sianirudh94 - 7/7/2012, 1:24 PM
Shit, that was...pretty awesome!! Although, why didn't they elaborate on John Blake's character? Hmmm..
Emanuel14 - 7/7/2012, 1:24 PM
that was cool
GuardianAngel - 7/7/2012, 1:28 PM
No spoilers really. Just explaining what we already knew. There are some new set pictures and only new footage toward the end. We do get a first look at a certain character (related to a certain dead character) played by a very young actress. It just emphasizes the scale of the film pretty much.
BillyBatson1000 - 7/7/2012, 1:29 PM
Bring it ON! Now! If Batman can Rise I already have a standing ovation for Catwoman.
RorMachine - 7/7/2012, 1:30 PM
Bit of new footage, but nothing too spoilery. If that didn't get you excited for the movie, check your pulse!
HouseSnow - 7/7/2012, 1:30 PM
that was awesome

@sianirudh94- they didn't elaborate on any of the characters. john blake is a [frick]ing cop, thats it.
cgriffith - 7/7/2012, 1:30 PM
@Smell it was like a First Look you see on Cinemax with interviews of the Dirctor, Actors an Producers and where the story will be taken with thier creative drection in this installment of Nolan' Saga.
Sabconth - 7/7/2012, 1:30 PM
There are a few bits of new footage, nothing spoilery but worth avoiding if you want to go into the film as pure as possible.

Hype is through the roof.
DraculaX - 7/7/2012, 1:30 PM
Awesome. Thats all I have to say. Anne and Marion are beautiful.
AdekunleFan - 7/7/2012, 1:31 PM
@SmellofDuty Just started to watch it, and quickly clicked pause, in my opinion too much spoiled
Gnyah123 - 7/7/2012, 1:32 PM

Sabconth - 7/7/2012, 1:32 PM
@Gnyah123

No, it picks up 8 years after the last film and starts from there.

webheaded - 7/7/2012, 1:35 PM
Absolutely beautiful storytelling. I expect nothing less than incredible from this film. If you think about it, we're at the peak of what will be known as the greatest depiction of the Batman story in all of literature and cinema. Very exciting!
DraculaX - 7/7/2012, 1:36 PM
That giant fight sequence in Manhattan is unbelievable!
Rush - 7/7/2012, 1:37 PM
This featurette makes you understand how epic the scale of this movie will be, without any spoilers.
MrChuff - 7/7/2012, 1:37 PM
Brilliant.

..and puts Nolan's "silent era" comment into the correct context.
Alexandre - 7/7/2012, 1:42 PM
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

i'm tearing up a bit
Jaywing - 7/7/2012, 1:45 PM
There is so much footage yet to be seen, especially with the comment about how so much of the film takes place underground. I love not being spoiled by seeing too much in the trailers. I think this movie is going to blow away everyone's expectations. Even if they won't admit it.
Sabconth - 7/7/2012, 1:54 PM
Legitimate goosebumps, also surprised how little they're revealing about Marion's character.
Giznad - 7/7/2012, 1:54 PM
oh my gosh, dude, if there's one game i'm totally NOT buying it's HITMAN! Just b/c that commercial gets on my nerves, bro!
musashi - 7/7/2012, 1:57 PM
Looking forward to this. But I find it hard to believe that Batman would give up on the promise of vengence he made after his parents death for 8 YEARS! Can't wait to find out why he did that. What did he do for 8 years? Cocaine and hookers?
jaydrum - 7/7/2012, 1:57 PM
Do you have to have seen the first two to get this one??
skidz - 7/7/2012, 1:58 PM
I said the same thing about the Avengers (which I loved): this feels like a war film.
AsianVersionOfET - 7/7/2012, 2:00 PM
Oh my frick! Oh my frick! OH MY FRICK!
Alexandre - 7/7/2012, 2:00 PM
did you guys see that little boy in the jail cell?? maybe bane? lol would be cool if he has a teddy bear
SmellofDuty - 7/7/2012, 2:02 PM
Ok I watched it. And I'm speechless, I'm beyond excited!
THE FIRE RISES
SmellofDuty - 7/7/2012, 2:02 PM
@alexandre I'm actually leaning toward the being Joey Kings young Talia Al Ghul.
MitchConner - 7/7/2012, 2:03 PM
Lol...I just noticed that no one besides cat woman is from America...that's funny, boo
AsianVersionOfET - 7/7/2012, 2:05 PM
@Alexandre, it's gotta be Bane, it's gotta!
Sabconth - 7/7/2012, 2:05 PM
@jaydrum

Why wouldn't you have seen the first 2? I'm sure it's not vital you watch them before this, but it would definitely make the story and characters more enjoyable.

@musashi

It seems Gotham police cracks down on crime hard using something called 'the Harvey Dent act'. Everyone is united against the Batman after Dark Knight, and Gotham becomes a peaceful haven, essentially becoming what Bruce strived for since the beginning.

Then Bane comes along and brings war to Gotham.
antonio - 7/7/2012, 2:06 PM
Can someone tell me if this is spoiler filled or not?? I'm trying to avoid as many spoilers for the next 12 days as much as possible. Thanks in advanced.
Bigred20 - 7/7/2012, 2:07 PM
I love how Pfister and Roven are like the only main crew members that aren't British lol
AsianVersionOfET - 7/7/2012, 2:08 PM
@Antonio, don't watch it!
Sabconth - 7/7/2012, 2:09 PM
@antonio

There are a couple of new scenes and soundbites, if you're trying to remain pure, do not watch.
antonio - 7/7/2012, 2:09 PM
@AsianVersionOfET it's spoiler filled, huh?
