Awesome Video of Bane's Truck Plummeting from Street Level on The Dark Knight Rises Set

Watch as Bane's truck breaks through a railing, and drops from ground level to a lower level.

Uploaded by smokeysify on Sep 18, 2011
A shot from the upcoming Batman movie, The Dark Knight Rises. A truck crashed from an upper level road to a lower level road. This shot took several days of onsite setup to create. The crew turned Los Angeles in September to Gotham in winter. Was awesome to see snow in LA.

How cool was that? Nolan with his practical stunts are blowing away anything done with CG. Last Batman film Nolan had a big rig flip over on to the roof of it's trailer. And now we see that the genius director is one upping himself by having a truck drop from Upper Grand, and land onto Lower Grand.

Based on the call sheet for the day they are expected to film the aftermath of that plunge, so keep checking for updates.

Wasn't Gordon supposed to be on top of that truck?! o_O
sexymuppet - 9/18/2011, 12:58 PM
why would he drive into the big hole? youre supposed to drive around them silly. what a foolish mistake
sexymuppet - 9/18/2011, 12:59 PM

that actually might be what hospitalizes him, good call
PreparationH - 9/18/2011, 1:01 PM
Ahh you don't know who is driving the truck, could of been shot or someone could be trying to take over the wheel. Either way its tits
Supes17 - 9/18/2011, 1:02 PM
Well maybe not, because in the trailer he wasn't bruised or wearing any casts.
Ut's probably smoke inhalation or something.

Bane already has 3 Batmobiles, why the [frick] would he want a truck?:p
That greedy bastard lol

Someone goes on NolanFans, ~cough~ @nailbiter111 ~cough~.
This film is going to be bigger than any other next year.
@Superman17 Maybe he jumped off in the scene before......
@sexymuppet I think the Batwing lead it into the railing.
Supes17 - 9/18/2011, 1:05 PM
Im pretty sure that the driver was
soaponapope - 9/18/2011, 1:08 PM
this movie is going to be so incredible. i can't waaaaait
95 - 9/18/2011, 1:09 PM
@Superman17 Yeah, wasn't Bane rumored to be an arsonist?
I don't know, because this chase sequence looks like the finale.
Plus, Gordon clearly said in the hospital: "You were gone" to Batman...
Yet Batman is involved in this chase sequence.
Wouldn't make sense.
Supes17 - 9/18/2011, 1:11 PM
He would have busted himself if he jumped off that big ass truck!
Supes17 - 9/18/2011, 1:12 PM
I dont think its the finale. I think its the pivotal action scene in the middle of the film, similar to what they did in The Dark Knight
PreparationH - 9/18/2011, 1:15 PM
@grif Wipe them crocodile tears little boy, cause ya roid raging alittle to hard
tomtom12 - 9/18/2011, 1:15 PM

95 - 9/18/2011, 1:17 PM

NOLANITE - 9/18/2011, 1:19 PM
As awesome as it may look on finished film...tsk tsk tsk im still gonna have to say that the truck flip in TDK is better...but lets not forget that there are other so called action scenes in this movies..
MovieMaster - 9/18/2011, 1:28 PM

[frick] CGI!

Altair - 9/18/2011, 1:29 PM
For once, I agree with Grif.
MovieMaster - 9/18/2011, 1:31 PM
@superman17- hmm, you could be right. but the trailer kinda contradicts that, i dunno. everything seems confusing lol
MovieMaster - 9/18/2011, 1:37 PM
aw [frick] here we go again
AsianVersionOfET - 9/18/2011, 1:39 PM
Mercy above
Supes17 - 9/18/2011, 1:40 PM
*sarcastic as humanly possible* Yes this movie is shitty, we have all seen it so it gives us the right to label it as a horrible film and a terrible way to end a critically acclaimed CBM trilogy.... smfh
MovieMaster - 9/18/2011, 1:42 PM
^^ lmao
MovieMaster - 9/18/2011, 1:45 PM
^^ watch gotham knight
NeoBaggins - 9/18/2011, 1:51 PM
Practical FX for the win.
Supes17 - 9/18/2011, 1:51 PM
Im open to the idea of a Batman Arkham City type reboot later on, but that doesnt mean I'm going to hate on this one.
I mean it was either Batman Begins or a 3rd Shumacher film..
I think they chose the right road, because insread of earning Razzies and being ridiculed like it was with Shoemaker, Batman became a respected hero on the big screen again.
The Dark Knight is the most successful CBM of all time, critically AND financially.
8 oscar nods, $1 billion worldwide..
NOLANITE - 9/18/2011, 1:53 PM
I agree with you Superman17. a beer is going down with your name on it.
Supes17 - 9/18/2011, 1:58 PM
At least it wont turn out like Fantastic Four or Howard the Duck, riiiight?
95 - 9/18/2011, 2:03 PM
@alucard365 I don't think WB will reboot. Personally I don't want them to. TDKR is the end. Maybe a World's Finest with an established Batman will do.
tomtom12 - 9/18/2011, 2:16 PM
Nolan says [frick] CGI. I can't wait to see the finished product.
NOLANITE - 9/18/2011, 2:18 PM
I think Intruder is jewish.
thisheart - 9/18/2011, 2:26 PM
Cgblade931, Grif and Intruder are shaping up to be the most disappointing board members since SuperConnerKent.
NextHero08 - 9/18/2011, 2:55 PM
Marvel and their oversaturation of FX=0 DC and Nolan's idea to say "CG What?"= Movie Gold
themayer88 - 9/18/2011, 3:05 PM
Subsitute the word "Miz" for "Christopher Nolan" ;)

NightForce - 9/18/2011, 3:25 PM
The only reason I would want a reboot is to see bigger than life villains. I've grown tired of Nolan applying realism to everything superhero like. I want a Batman movie more like the comics.
croniccris - 9/18/2011, 3:54 PM
haha cool

croniccris - 9/18/2011, 3:55 PM
fullie man!!!

I don't see how one can be a shit director and yet have a film that has grossed over a 1billion dollars. Anyway the top directors I would say that are out right now is Terrence Malik, Darren Arfnosky, Christopher Nolan, David Lynch, Martin Scorsese, Quentin Tarintino, and Nicholas Wending Fern. Now those who think Nolan is the best director of all time, you are wrong. Yes he is an excellent director but he still has a long way to go before he is among the elite. And stop judging a film by set pics. I mean seriously a set pic determines a movie is shit. The level of intelligence on this site truly baffles me.
cable23 - 9/18/2011, 4:02 PM
And why the [frick] do you have Joseph Gordon Levitt as Robin as your avatar? And yet say TDKR will be some shit. Explain that shit.
Supes17 - 9/18/2011, 4:06 PM
I don't think Christopher Nolan is the Greatest director in history...
But I think he's pretty damn good.
