John Alvin is responsible for painting movie posters for over 130 films, including Tim Burton's Batman and Joel Schumacher's Batman Forever. Here, we have the exclusive premiere of one of his Batman Forever sketches from Titan Books' The Art of John Alvin. Check it out!

Taken from Titan Books' The Art of John Alvin (which goes on sale later this month), the following sketch is a never before seen poster design for Batman Forever. The acclaimed artist painted stunning posters for a number of big movies, and his designs, finished versions which were never used, and much, much more will all be included in the book. What do you guys think?

John Alvin’s movie poster art is among the most iconic of the last 40 years, from Disney films such as Beauty and the Beast and Pinocchio, to Empire of the Sun, Gremlins, Blazing Saddles, Predator, and Star Wars 30th anniversary posters. This book not only collects some of Alvin’s finest work, but also includes previously unseen comprehensives and in progress sketches.

This is probably a sacrilege but this is the most Batman of all Burton/Shumacher Batman movie's I'd even go so far to call it the best off that whole bunch.
monkeyballs - 8/7/2014, 12:01 PM
Neat! Too bad this movie wasn't directed by Tim Burton. It would have been good.
monkeyballs - 8/7/2014, 12:02 PM
Batman is the best of that bunch. So far it's the best of all of the Batman films to date (not including animated films of course).
HorrorPilot - 8/7/2014, 12:02 PM
I like the poster! Too bad the film was shit!
TimJude72 - 8/7/2014, 12:02 PM
@DarthSandwich I can get begun that, minus the whole nipple thing.

SmellofDuty - 8/7/2014, 12:05 PM
Good find dude. I also do enjoy this movie fairly well. No where near my favorite, and not the best in the series.
AwesomeSauce - 8/7/2014, 12:08 PM
Woah, some people are going to be confused cuz they think Batman got his start with Christopher Nolan.
SmellofDuty - 8/7/2014, 12:08 PM
Gusto - 8/7/2014, 12:08 PM
I didn't hate it.
Nomis - 8/7/2014, 12:08 PM
@ DarthSandwich - It certainly is the ONLY one that had to do with Bruce Wayne and exploring his psychosis about his parents death with his father's Journal.

In the special edition they make mention that in the Journal his father write's that Bruce INSIST on them taking him to the movies the night his parents got killed.

And it also played on a more "mystical" meaning of Bruce choosing to be Batman when he goes to the cave as an adult and rediscovered the bat that first showed him what he is going to become (similar Frank Miller's dark kngiht returns")

that Movie was going to be something TOTALLY DIFFERENT than what was the final cut because the execs at WB thought it was too dark and they had just got over from the problems they got with Parent groups protesting the look and sound of the Penguin from 'Batman Returns'.
Invictor - 8/7/2014, 12:09 PM
That poster actually looks pretty cool. Don't see why they didn't go with it. I use to love watching this movie as a kid, but looking back, I would've liked any movie that gave me comic book heroes.
AwesomeSauce - 8/7/2014, 12:09 PM
"Harvey! I'm Batman!"
yossarian - 8/7/2014, 12:10 PM
Which one was this one? Whatever. I don't think I saw it. I only saw the ones with Keaton. I still haven't seen the ones with Clooney or Kilmer.
GuardianAngel - 8/7/2014, 12:11 PM
This was probably my favorite of the Burton/Shoemacher films. I would've said Batman 89', but that movie really doesn't hold up.
AsgardianHobo - 8/7/2014, 12:12 PM
Saw it in the theater. Jim Carrey was SOOO HUGE at that time, he could do no wrong
AwesomeSauce - 8/7/2014, 12:12 PM
- What am I?

? Well you're as blind as a bat!

- Exactly!
Nomis - 8/7/2014, 12:14 PM
And people today forget that THIS was the movie that SAVED the previous Batman franchise.

WB wasn't going to make anymore after the luke-warm reception of 'Batman returns'.

'Batman Returns' is only look on in a more favorable light today because of time and revaluation of it. But in it's initial run at the theatre, it was only giving so-so reviews and many fans and movie goers were just confused by it.

'Batman Returns' was to much a Tim Burton movie and not enough of a Batman movie and they cater only to the Villains.

But If you have the special edition of 'Batman Forver' in the interviews Tim Burton (who produce the movie) talk about how NO ONE wanted to be in a Batman movie after 'Batman Returns'.
Alexandre - 8/7/2014, 12:15 PM
Clooney's Batman was just really terrible. Kilmer's batman was at least a bit tolerable
Brainiac13 - 8/7/2014, 12:16 PM

You posted another poster on...

Which looks great......you should put this one up here..
Brainiac13 - 8/7/2014, 12:16 PM
This one..

sKeemAn - 8/7/2014, 12:17 PM
I think this is the one with Kilmer. This is not Bat nipples!
Nivekian - 8/7/2014, 12:19 PM
Yeah, the suits got nips on them, WTH? It's a Schoonmaker film.
slickrickdesigns - 8/7/2014, 12:19 PM
Glad someone else caught that… Tim Burton would've made a much better Batman Forever movie.
His Batman movies are still my Fav live Action DC movies. Dark Knight is 3rd.
Alexandre - 8/7/2014, 12:21 PM
The problem with this film was just the overall designs of everything. Give it another design, keep the story as is and Batman Forever would probably have been a pretty awesome batman film.
Nomis - 8/7/2014, 12:21 PM
The opening scene originally had Two face breaking out of Arkham, killing a guard and writing on the wall " The Bat Must Die" in blood !

MrDeadRabbit - 8/7/2014, 12:23 PM

Nicole Kidman didn't get nude for this? SUCKS!!
Nomis - 8/7/2014, 12:25 PM
@ Brainiac13 - Man, that's too cool.

Although the design of the Batman leaping in the air is taking from Frank Miller 'Dark Knight Returns!

UltronMk7 - 8/7/2014, 12:31 PM
I remember going to see this movie when I was a kid and being so disappointed in the tone change from Batman and Batman Returns (which were 2 of my fav movies). Must say I still feel exactly the same today as I did then. I think time has proven that a darker Batman is a better Batman and this light hearted foolish crap just doesn't work on the big screen for this character. The Burton films were great, Nolan films were Epic but the more cartoon like crap that reared it's ugly head in Forever, then went full on in Batman and Robin just sucked.
Darktower - 8/7/2014, 12:33 PM
Batman forever has to be the 2nd best batman movies of the 90ths.
DylanTBest - 8/7/2014, 12:34 PM
Don't care what anyone says, this is still the best live action Batman film to date. Jim Carrey was great in this movie, I don't care if he didn't play The Riddler, his performance was still entertaining.
DylanTBest - 8/7/2014, 12:35 PM
AsgardianHobo - 8/7/2014, 12:35 PM

Jump off a bridge. One without those safety net things.

That Two-face blood writing on the wall is real? crazy
CaptShipwreck - 8/7/2014, 12:37 PM
Hmmm a batman movie Not afraid to embrace robin ???
CaptShipwreck - 8/7/2014, 12:39 PM
Too bad Nolan was a pus and didnt add Harry potter as the boy wonder when he had a chance
MrDeadRabbit - 8/7/2014, 12:42 PM

Anything for you my dear

: D
UltronMk7 - 8/7/2014, 12:43 PM
Neon Gotham City? Ugh. It's shocking anyone could have thought that was a good idea. Jim Carey playing the same cartoon character he plays in every movie. Batmobile driving vertically up the side of a building, oh, and the most cringe worthy evil plot imaginable, the brain wave sucking TV service thing. Wow this movie was terrible. It's been so long since I've seen it, all this horrendous crap is coming back to me in pieces... Ugh...lousy movie.
Dingbat - 8/7/2014, 12:43 PM
Syringe - 8/7/2014, 12:44 PM
Nice! I always liked Kilmers take on Bats
