New Critics TV Spot For Fox's GOTHAM

New Critics TV Spot For Fox's GOTHAM New Critics TV Spot For Fox's GOTHAM

A lot of fans aren't fully on board with Fox's upcoming Batman prequel series, but it has certainly gone over pretty well with most critics. After the jump you can see a few pull-quotes, as well as some new footage of Det. Jim Gordon (Ben McKenzie) being a total badass.

The series follows one cop, destined for greatness, as he navigates a dangerously corrupt city teetering between good and evil, and chronicles the rise of the great DC Comics Super-Villains and vigilantes. The entirely new, untold chapter comes from executive producer/writer Bruno Heller (“The Mentalist,” “Rome”) and stars Ben McKenzie (“Southland,” “The O.C.”), Donal Logue (“Vikings,” “Sons of Anarchy”) and Jada Pinkett Smith (“Hawthorne,” “Collateral”).

Gotham kicks off Monday, September 22.

^Those people seem to forget that every superhero adaptation ever changes things up.

I gladly take this over...no show at all.

Jim Gordon from Gotham: "I promise you. No matter how dark and scary the world might be right now. There will be light."

Harvey Dent from The Dark Knight: "I promise you the night is darkest just before the dawn. But the dawn is coming!"

>fans furiously lead by drawing artist state that they will poison water supplies, tip over cows and not flush the toilet to prove how much they love and want to see this show.

I'm very excited for this, even if it isn't perfect at first. Only about a month now until the Fall TV season starts. Can't Wait!

Looking forward to a comic book show that isn't beholden to serving some greater universe.

This show is giving me a vibe of it being an Elseworlds version of the Nolan TDK trilogy and I'm starting to really dig the trailers.

I hope it stays its own thing,the CW stays its own thing and the Snyder verse stays its own thing.

Constantine can lead to Justice League Dark as long as Del Toro continues to believe he could adapt his vision to what happens on the show.

@DCGuy

My first instinct is to say that is Det.Sarah Essen his partner he ends up in an affair with, but the woman's red hair suggests she is his wife Barbara the future mother of Batgirl.

@blkynk

Actually Gordon's fiance is having an affair with Rene Montoya. Rene loves her some redheads.

At least I think that's what I remember reading.

Nice try @TankD, but we've been getting positive reviews of Gotham for awhile now.

If it gets really solid reviews than I might give it a chance, but as for now this show is not for me, but to each his own.... I don't mind different takes on characters but I need Batman in Gotham, I don't like the idea of Batman's villains existing in a "Gotham with no Batman" and having Gotham still capable of functioning and surviving without Batman....

@Battabing Dude its a dc property on the fox network. the only dc property that looks any good?(and yes I have watched both seasons of arrow which I had to push myself through on some parts. like stephen amell's lisp) is constantine.

I watched the flash pilot which I will admit wasnt bad but thats cause it was only the pilot the cwness still shines through.

Those shows(besides constantine) are the same as those teen heart throb shows like gossip girl and the vampire diaries just they have major dc characters as central protagonists.

It kind reminds me of that episode with south park where all the redknecks are into wrestling and follow it like a teen girl watching those freaking soup operas. im not hating im just calling it what it is. while I hope constantine does well because the guy thats playing him IS John Constantine. In secret I hope they fail because these characters deserve better.

and @Drkinsolving has another point which I completely forgot this is a show about Batmans world without batman. They should have done BludHaven and did a show about nightwing. would have made more sense. but it would in the end still be CW.

This show isn't bad. I was a little hesitant at first, but after watching the pilot I'll give it a chance.

Yeah...no. Still, every second is terrible.

I'll wait for Flash and Constantine. Fox will cancel this mess after one season anyway, it's what they do.
