New Batman Image Revealed in THE DARK KNIGHT RISES Merchandise

New merchandise for Christopher Nolan's third and final installment in his Batman franchise reveals a new image of Gotham's Dark Knight. Click the jump to check it out.

Looks like a new backpack lunchbox has been created for The Dark Knight Rises. Batman looks to be swinging or grappling into action. What do you guys think?

God no why is this shit going down? My kids 4 and he wouldnt even want this lame shit!
MovieMann - 1/28/2012, 8:26 PM
That's a CG model, with Batman's head photoshoped on to it.
xfan320 - 1/28/2012, 8:29 PM
I definitely have to say 'no' to the lunchbox, but that is actually one of the best photos of Batman we have seen from TDKR (action & composition-wise imo)

Now all we need is the 'break the bat' aluminum lunchbox w bane raising him up over his shoulders. ;) I could see that being totally wicked for kids (and adults too sadly!)
WolvieCBM - 1/28/2012, 8:29 PM
Oh, look, it's MERCHANDISE! But wait, I thought only Avengers had that. Hmm, I must be dreaming.

Anyway, I like it. I don't think that's a live action pic though. Looks more like digital art.
JerBear - 1/28/2012, 8:30 PM
Wow a lunchbox... this movie is going to be for stupid little kids *sarcasm*
WolvieCBM - 1/28/2012, 8:35 PM
JerBear: At least someone gets it. Good one.
Niuhll - 1/28/2012, 8:39 PM
@xenix Now its all i can see! Thats going to kill me.
brewtownpsych - 1/28/2012, 8:42 PM
what is that thing? weird how it appears as a news item right after the avengers one. can we find some kiddie merch for amazing spider-man? we'll take anything, chinese knockoffs, photoshopped, anything.
deanwilkins - 1/28/2012, 8:58 PM
"ARK KNIGHT"? Okay... who was the genius who thought that was good. Shouldn't the 'd' be the same color?
novaprime - 1/28/2012, 9:16 PM
this is terrible why are they posting everything on the dk rises.. i do like the pic maby we get to see him use the GRAMPLING HOOK FINALLY MORE THEN 1NCE.. I HOPE HE USES IT LIKE THE CARTOON..
daywalker1623 - 1/28/2012, 9:23 PM
This must be a really boring comic book news day. Merch news? Not really very interesting, the marvel one had more but you know none of it will be in the movie. And the pic on the lame backpack, totally photo shopped. They should do more advertising pics but they probably thought they might get yelled at by Bale.
daywalker1623 - 1/28/2012, 9:36 PM
I think the logo looks fine. Stop griping. Oh and Mothra, I'm a marvel person by the way.
NeoBaggins - 1/28/2012, 9:50 PM
Revenge of the Nerds. Go get'em! lol

The Bright Yellow Knight Rises
CRleo1995 - 1/28/2012, 11:57 PM
@Xenix the "Ark Knight" haha
DoctorSnide - 1/28/2012, 11:58 PM
It would be nice to see a little more grappling and roof top fighting action.

@Intruder, it def is a psychological thriller which bhappens to have Batman characters in it. The Marvel films seem to be the same old same.
TheDetectiveComicRises - 1/29/2012, 12:07 AM
I think it is a great photo shot I like it

That's a cool lunchbox.
Kids in da block be jealous.
brewtownpsych - 1/29/2012, 12:13 AM
@nailbiter, where did this image come from? When you say "has been revealed" what do you mean? Contrast with Avengers article that explains the source.

As much as I'm looking forward to this movie, I'm more interested in seeing The Amazing Spider-Man.
sarahsatire - 1/29/2012, 2:54 AM
I can totally see how that could be confused for a backpack. It is the same shape as a backpack, and there is no reference for size in the picture. As is, totally passes for a child's backpack.

And yeah, I hate what they did with the logo. Makes the perfectionist side of me go insane.
marvel72 - 1/29/2012, 5:07 AM
the dark knight rises isn't made for kids......

XD hahahahahahaha because all the grown ups are gonna be rushing out to buy that,i can see it now gracing the desks of offices around the world as we speak.
dahamma - 1/29/2012, 5:30 AM
Tell me why this is the greatest shot of Batman and its on a book bag
darthbobtarkas - 1/29/2012, 5:44 AM
@grif Dude, this marvel vs. dc agenda of yours is crap. Both win. What the [frick] is wrong with you?
This does not look like a movie still, but more like promo art or something.
PaulRom - 1/29/2012, 5:49 AM
"Just wait for the WB choo choo train of merchandise comes through"

Kinda like what Paramount/Disney's doing right now, eh?
PaulRom - 1/29/2012, 5:51 AM
That being said, the lunchbox is cool. Best image of Bats I've seen in a while.
Not saying that the Avengers stuff isn't cooler though.
HAQ - 1/29/2012, 5:52 AM
Looks dope (the pic).
MarkyMark22 - 1/29/2012, 6:01 AM
Hey Guys, this is my first post but Ive been visiting this site for a very long time.

It is kinda weird how some of you think TDKR is going to be some psychological drama/thriller/very serious movie/movie for adults ....

It is a movie for young people (merchandise included) just like the Avengers and Spider-man ... Movies for adults are something different and they dont involve superheroes :D
@sarahsatire actually there is a reference to its size, there is a glimpse of a hand on the left side of the picture so you can imagine its size

HellsHammer - 1/29/2012, 6:14 AM
hahaha @ Marvelites ripping apart a back pack for second graders. You have all sunk so very low.
NeoBaggins - 1/29/2012, 6:36 AM
What's this little retard stuff about TDKR having or not having merch for kids? There's been merch and toys since Batman Begins. And they practically attached the Joker and Batman figure commercial to the Dark Knight TV spots. Damn. Where is this group that says Nolan's films didn't have kid products? Are we making up groups to oppose? lol

The films aren't kiddy shit, but WB must sell products. Now that I think of it, if I was a kid, I'd be bored stupid watching The Dark Knight. Or scared.

Anyone rememeber those [frick]ed up cartons based on R rated movies like Rambo and Robocop? lmao This kinda reminded me of that.

The Dark Knight Rises

@MarkyMark22: ur certificate has just arrived:
NeoBaggins - 1/29/2012, 6:44 AM
@Morty I went to your thread to settle in for a good read. First thing I read was about reflective buildings being a problem and that you could see the filming helicopters in the reflections. I've seen the film multiple times, never noticed that. Had to stop reading. With "problems" like that, it's a miracle that it's in your, top 5 did you say?
Supes17 - 1/29/2012, 7:10 AM
@Morty: Every film has mistakes... You're talking about reflective windows?
Well here's something for your "Marvelite half", or as I like to call them, Marvel Supremacists..
Iron Man 2 was picked as the most mistake-filled movie of 2010.
Supes17 - 1/29/2012, 7:13 AM
Even the great Godfather had a scene with an obvious silly fake fight between Sonny and Carlo. You could clearly see that the guy's fists were nowhere near the other guy's head.
