Nolan´s true intentions with Bane

Nolan´s true intentions with Bane

First off, I wanna clarify I don´t intend to guess the storyline the newly added villains will follow, and second, this is my first article, so be gentle.

A few days ago, i saw the announcement that anne hathaway and tom hardy were going to play catwoman and bane respectivley ( isn´t that obvious). It came to a shock to me but i have faith in nolan. I really dont know how will he portray catwoman cause she has alot of fawcetts that could fit in his world so it is really dificult to guess the only thing we have for sure is that she will be a love interest or female atraction for batman, and in my personal opinion he will use the duality of catwoman being a hero and part time villain. Now bane on the other side, is a really mysterious choice, how is he going to make it work to make it fit into his world?... In batman begins, he made plausible the idea of a frightening gas that could make you allusinate to show you your greatest fears, so i think he could make it work by telling bane could be a test subject of prototype steroids or some kind of altered adrenaline, that was chosen from arkham thanks to his intellect and maybe the tester could be the scarecrow. Know that bane is a physical and mental threath i think nolan is going to explote both, maybe he will incorporate some of the riddlers personality into him.

But i truly believe banes true mision is to break batmans back, but not in the beginning i think it would work out as a final. As he has already stated this is his last movie so nolan being the genious he is he will try to end it with a close conclusion not an open thing ( that is why think he is going to be mention harvy dent and the joker somehow in the movie, hes just not the kind of guy that can put away a project and treat it with less respect than it deserves). I think the perfect way to end the trilogy is to leave as a legacy thing. IF bane definitaly breaks batmans back leaving him in a weel chair he will be unavaible to fight crime anymore. So he will depend on the legacy of rightneousness he has input on gotham.

That why the las scene on the movie i think should be wayne in a wheel chair maybe having a talk with dick something like that about the legacy his poassing to him. I dont know how to portary it i lack of imagination.

But i think the better way to end it is to leave batman as a symbol that many will follow even though the physcial embodiment of that symbol no longer exists.

really good for your first time article.
LEEE777 - 1/23/2011, 5:04 PM
Problem is...

It wont be BANE.
freddblob - 1/23/2011, 5:08 PM
Dindt understand that wont be bane?
golden123 - 1/23/2011, 5:13 PM
I don't think it's important to delve into the origin of Venom. Also if Fear gas, a Bat-swarm device, amicrowave emitter, and the turning of a regular phone into a radar device is plausible then Venom is plausible.
Oh and Bane shouldn't break Batmans back in the movie.
cadairjr05 - 1/23/2011, 5:19 PM
Break his back? No. Nolan won't do this.

In comics, you have months and months to carry out that type of story line. You can't pull that off in this film. Bane will be physically opposing--something different from all the other Batman movies (including Tim Burton/Joel S. films).

I still can't help but think that there is still one more player missing from this one. I just don't see Bane or Catwoman leading in a thematic way like Ra's Al Ghul(true justice for the corrupt) and The Joker(anarchy/escalation).

Bane just seems like The Scarecrow in a way. He helped embody the theme of fear in Batman Begins and Bane will probably embody whatever theme Nolan would have. But I swear there has to be one more piece to this film.

But--this is Nolan. He surprised us both times.
dellamorte1872 - 1/23/2011, 5:25 PM
bane has a tie to RAS he was proclaimed RAS heir at one point. NOLAN will make some connection between the two tieing trilogy together. BANE can be intelligent. seriously dude, WIKIPEDIA it
SHHH - 1/23/2011, 6:17 PM

Well it is my personal opinion and i respect yours. @cadairjr05 Agree i cant seem to see any of this two as a pontential leader. And about nolan being not capable of doing that believe i have had plenty of surprises y i think his mind will create something in that tone to finish maybe not exactly what i think but im sure it wont finish with batman still working as an open final. But well is just my opinion and i respect yours.
@dellamorte1872 I know he is and i mentioned it "so i think he could make it work by telling bane could be a test subject of prototype steroids or some kind of altered adrenaline, that was chosen from arkham thanks to his intellect "
dellamorte1872 - 1/23/2011, 7:22 PM
BANE can be a "double threat" intelligent and physically strong! he condenses the ideologies better than splitting up those characteristics between two different rogues. CATWOMAN will be the femme fatale/love interest. BANE will be hunting the BAT. the city (GOTHAM as a whole) and BANE are hunting BATMAN down so he has no respite. RUPERT THORNE i'm betting will fill the role of mafia kinpin like FALCONE did or MARONI previously.
Denn1s - 1/23/2011, 7:27 PM
bane could be just a guy on steroids. like schwarzennegger. no venom or anything. after all, bane is a criminal mastermind and a great strategist. he is not only brawn but brain as well, as seen in knightfall.
dellamorte1872 - 1/23/2011, 7:40 PM
BANE has GOT to be on a "venom-esque" type steroid. its a pinnacle part of the character but i would have said the same thing about JOKER. but SCARECROW had the whole "chemical thing" going with his character so who knows lol
AlexDeLarge87 - 1/24/2011, 1:13 AM
della@ Agree. Venom is part of Bane thats what makes the character more threatening than Batman´s other villains. Almost all Batman´s enemies are brilliant masterminds, but no one has that kind of physical power that Bane has. If he doesnt have the venom in the movie it would be the same thing like having Black Mask without his mask or The Joker without his makeup or Scarecrow without his feargas or Batman without his gadgets.
yowsaman - 1/24/2011, 1:40 AM
ok well yesterday i saw the dark knight again on blu ray and there was one scene that struck my attention that may hint to the dark knight rises or it could just be coincidence.
you all know when batman ask's fox if he has a lighter material for his suit cause he felt he had movement restrictions after the first battle in the parking lot with the scarecrow and the wannabe batmans. (he gets a doggbite also). when fox shows him the new alloy he can use for his suit. bruce ask's fox if it will protect him against doggbite's. fox reply's "doggs i dont know but cats maybe" (cant remember the exact words but he does mention cats!)

is this a hint to catwomen?? or am i just fishing here :p :D

i think bane and selina kyle aka catwomen will not be interly portraited like in the comics. nolan is going to give them more of a realistic look i think
Knightstalker - 1/24/2011, 5:43 AM
Apparently spelling, grammar, and sentence structure has become a lost art.
AlexDeLarge87 - 1/24/2011, 6:00 AM
Knightstalker@ Everyone around here is not just from England and America buddy!:)
thunderforce - 1/24/2011, 6:05 AM
That would kind of make sense having Batman retire at the end of this movie if it is the last because that is really what would happen in the real world if they were being a superhero with no super powers , so if he is going for realism it would work .
dellamorte1872 - 1/24/2011, 7:32 AM
@yowsaman - youre not very astute there dude no offense but i came to that conclusion myself in the THEATER, watching it for the first time.....LOL! its as much a "nod" to their intent on using the character as THE JOKER calling card in BB, come on bro' think outside the box a lil they just didnt do it as blunty in TDK but they still did it! the gotham task force assigned to catch him i thought was another nod though too to RIDDLER, and its a shame. he coulda walked the line between good/bad as an investigator brought in to catch the BAT but instead, gets obsessed with defeating him personally. to a disgraced woulda been fun. but i see how NOLAN wants to use BANE b/c he CAN be both a physical, and mental threat. BANE'S actual "tie" to RAS the character he has in the source material is a plus. we should get a minor rogue then though....i vote for FIREFLY but i'm partial to that b/c i wanna see an aerial battle. NOLAN does claustrophobic action, think about it. his action shots are always tightly shot in both BATMAN'S (to draw you personally into the action more the intent being you feel more engrossed in the battle alongside the BAT) so more hand-to-hand tightness along side BANE? that does sound VERY entertaining. BANE would not have been my choice but i get NOLANS angle. especially if this ends the trilogy and BATS has his back is broken permanently. if no 3rd rogue, then i want RUPERT THORNE as the mafia dude a la FALCONE or MARONI.
yowsaman - 1/24/2011, 10:18 AM
@della. no offence taken bro. i know i'm probably waaaaaay late. but it was something that i noticed watching the movies yesterday. it just struck me cause of the casting of selina kyle for the next movie. i'm guessing to that bane has some sort of connection to ras. altough i'm curious how they are going to let the joker out of the story. especially after all what he has done in the second movie. he just caused major mayham to gottam city. he escaped the first time so quickly. wy cant he excape a second time. i know nolan said he wont use him as a character but he has to make mention of him. no?
i'm guessing selena kyle or catwomen if he is going to use here is going to be some kind of burgaler. maybe comming under protection of bruce wane.

dont really know if bane will actually brake that back of batman. maybe mentally for a while? :p

o well. everyone can just guess. it's nolan who knows :p
CorndogBurglar - 1/24/2011, 10:39 AM
I don't understand why so many people seem to think Bane won't have the Venom feed. How is that less believable than Scarecrow's fear gas or the vaporizor thing from Batman Begins?
dellamorte1872 - 1/24/2011, 10:47 AM
im with you, venom will be there!
spider1489 - 1/24/2011, 12:30 PM
i understand why you think that is a possiblity but nolan or no nolan i agree with BLACKPANTER717 batman makes way to much money to put him away
CorndogBurglar - 1/24/2011, 12:38 PM
why are people such assholes? just because he gets his back broken doesn't mean he'll stop being Batman forever. Read Knightfall for god's sake. And no one knows whats happening after Nolan. Someone could just take Nolan's reigns and move foreward, which would make that theory completely plausible. So to you SelinaSyren, I say screw off you filthy troll.

and does no one around here read comics?
freddblob - 1/24/2011, 1:41 PM
@selinasyren i deleted your comment cause i taught it was inaproppiate and there was no reason for it is my personal opinion, and the way isee it the next batman movie after TDKR will not be part of the trilogy. I give you respect i deserve that in exchange, you really need to grow up to know that just because is not what you think it doesnt mean its bad.

And to clarify im from colombia dude so its really dificult for me to wirte in perfect sense i did my best effort.
Jonet - 1/24/2011, 2:09 PM
Since they took many ideas from Batman: Year One, I wouldn't be surprise if they would use Catwoman's story arc in that same graphic novel where Selina was a prostitute in the narrows. She wore a cat leather suit and a whip due to her clients' fetishism and developed her fighting skills in order to survive in that dangerous area (specially after the incident in Batman Begins). She was then inspired by Batman's actions (at the end of TDK) to go out and steal the rich people to help her fellow ladies.

This being so, the theme of the film would probably be how sometimes it is justified to do bad things in order to achieve good consequences.

As far as Bane is concerned, I'm quite sure he will be the one taking the place of Maroni after his death and will be leading Gotham's mafia. Maybe related to that prostitution mafia that's responsible for Selina's and the rest of the girls' lifestyle. Probably, Bane will realize he needs to be more than a simple human to defeat Batman and that will be where the venom story comes in.

But... just guessing. :)

Knightstalker - 1/24/2011, 7:13 PM
Point taken,AlexdeLarge666. It was just a very difficult read.
darthbobtarkas - 1/25/2011, 1:17 AM
i think bane is going to be an apprentice of ra's al ghul, just like bruce wayne. and then he comes out of the shadows for revenge or maybe to take batman's place. also i think the fear toxin in begins can be used as a steroid as well, after all, it did wonders for batman.
SaintXHorseFly - 1/25/2011, 5:11 AM
Nolan is writing and directing it, but the studio makes the final call, and there is no way possible that Bruce will end the movie with a broken back, and roll into the sunset. There are toy lines, and a always potential for more stories that the studio wants to produce with or without Nolan. Decent article, but NEVER gonna happen. No way will the hero in this franchise end up beaten, and end on a downbeat. You leave the hero active, not gimped out.

I'll bet the whole Bane thing is a red herring designed by Nolan to fuel up the hype and sucker punch us later on. I'll bet Bane isn't even in this movie. I'm probably wrong but you never know.
rbfn04 - 1/25/2011, 9:42 AM
C'mon, can you guy imagine the toy line? It will be gold, I tell you!!! bat-wheelchair, bat-neckbrace.

For real, now: why would bane breaking the bat hurt the franchise in the long run? Nolan said is his last bat-movie. WB will reboot it in a few years after this, maybe with a JLA friendly story.

Great article dude...
wonderme - 1/25/2011, 8:17 PM
maby they sould break his back in the middle and in volve a Robin in this on.

Good point most likely to another movie involving the Bat.

Great job...
