More TDKR Violence

A week and a half after the deadly shooting inside a Colorado movie theater that left 12 people dead and 59 wounded, three gunmen donning Batman masks robbed two cinemas full of moviegoers in northern Mexico.

So, it seems that Mexico has also been hit by violence linked to The Dark Knight Rises.

Latino Fox News reported two movie theater robberies committed by armed robbers wearing Batman Masks during Midnight Showings of The Dark Knight Rises. No one was hurt or injured but the armed robbers made off with $16,000.

Also three days prior a fire started in a dumpster forced the evacuation of 800 moviegoers during the premier of “The Dark Knight Rises” in Guadalajara, Mexico’s second largest city.

One has to wonder why so much violence has erupted around this movie rather than the other comic book inspired movies this summer.

WTF? seriously people doing this stop it,
rockerdude22 - 7/31/2012, 5:43 PM
Wow, stuff like this always horrifies me. TDKR was an awesome movie, and really doesn't deserve to have this kind of publicity.
CPBuff22 - 7/31/2012, 5:45 PM
Kinda puts an end to the "You Americans" comments that were going around a couple weeks ago. I just don't understand what it is about THIS movie that has people acting this way. You didn't see this happen with the other Superhero Comic Book movies this summer. Nor did you see it happen with Batman Begins or The Dark Knight. I just can't seem to piece it together.
DarkGrifter - 7/31/2012, 5:52 PM
Such a shame this movie is surrounded by these horrible acts of violence. It seems to have become a strange trend set after the shootings in Colorado; however the media will constantly bring the "dark" and "violent" nature of TDKR as the cause of these events as opposed to James Holmes who has seemed to have sensationalized such attacks. Even if this isn't the case people will always have their doubts.
SpiderHyphenMan - 7/31/2012, 5:53 PM
It's madness, James Holmes has created, he wanted to be caught, simply.... Because he wanted to watch the world burn. For he thinks, this is a world, without rules.
marvel72 - 7/31/2012, 6:06 PM
so many f*ckin idiots in this world, this movie doesn't need anymore bad press.

this movie is gonna be remembered all for the wrong reasons.
Knightrider - 7/31/2012, 6:22 PM
It is at times like these, I wish there was a Superman to remind us all to be inspired to do good, rather than have moments like these that remind us that we are closer to Batman's world of violence and desperation that we ought to be.
RAWRG - 7/31/2012, 6:27 PM
James Holmes created so many [frick]in idiots, these people have to stop imitating him...
gastitdk - 7/31/2012, 6:35 PM
People are stupid, or sick. You can't really blame either movies, video games or fiction material for "influencing" people's mind. I play Call of Duty, love Batman, but I can tell reality from fiction and I'm not going to kill people dressed up as Bane or anybody else.
Emanuel14 - 7/31/2012, 7:04 PM
Batman lost his throne as a symbol, now James Holmes is a symbol of how the human mind can be influenced by other's people act
Emanuel14 - 7/31/2012, 7:05 PM
by the way, how many people died?
Sabconth - 7/31/2012, 7:09 PM
@Emanuel14

12 were killed during the aurora shooting.

No one died during this incident.
CPBuff22 - 7/31/2012, 7:11 PM
@Emanuel14 yeah like @Sabconth said no deaths during the incidents in Mexico thankfully.
darkjoker1 - 7/31/2012, 7:11 PM
where was batman during this XD oo wait he wasnt there but a bunch of idiots dressed in batman masks where...-_-....
poop23 - 7/31/2012, 7:12 PM
THis news better not have gotten to that dipshit holmes, this would just feed that stupid ego of his. Personally I think it would be best to torture him live on television to send a counter message to all these other idiots like him
CPBuff22 - 7/31/2012, 7:14 PM
@poop23 - Its been reported that no news has gotten to holmes. He has been begging guards in the prison to tell him how TDKR ended. Sick F'er.
hotkarl8083 - 7/31/2012, 7:18 PM
This is why my friend and I have our CHL and carried in the theater along with everywhere else we go (as long as it's within the confines of the law). Never know when you are going to run into some bat shit insane person and help out Darwinism a little bit.
TheBatman1 - 7/31/2012, 7:21 PM
The police should have just shot Holmes when they first caught him. Who cares if he is insane, look at how much violence he has created. If the police had killed him right there, it would had sent a message to every one else. On top of all this, they are pushing Batman Inc. 4 to october
CPBuff22 - 7/31/2012, 7:54 PM
@TheBatman1 you need to credit the pushing back of Batman inc. 4 to DC as well. There was plenty of things they could have done in wake of the shooting to gain good press. But rather than pull the movie, limit showings of the movie, or work to help theaters provide security they pulled the comic. Any of the prior things would have done more to stem the violence but they decided that they didn't want to loose any money from the film.

Postponing the comic does nothing to actually help anyone but it does get DC some positive press. And to be blunt, the did need it after what happened.

ARE YOU KIDDING ME!! COME ON!!
Supes17 - 7/31/2012, 8:03 PM
I feel like dealing some vigilante justice right about now..

Except that my costume would be better than Phoenix Jones'
lol
CPBuff22 - 7/31/2012, 8:10 PM
@Supes17 - Might be a bad time to go running around in a costume in public. Would hate to see some one shoot you out of fear that you might be a murder or robber.

Sigh, I wonder how this will affect the cons that are around the corner.
Emanuel14 - 7/31/2012, 8:14 PM
Thankgod, everyone is ok
TheBatman1 - 7/31/2012, 8:17 PM
One of my friends has the stupid idea of running around as batman and pulling pranks. He was originally going to dress up as the Joker but decided against it. I think that is a really stupid idea
CPBuff22 - 7/31/2012, 8:23 PM
@TheBatman1 - That would have been crazy entertaining before TDKR released. Not so much any more.
Supes17 - 7/31/2012, 8:27 PM
CpBuff22:
True that... I wasn't serious though:P

UrbanKnight - 7/31/2012, 10:46 PM
Smh. Feel bad for my ancestral peeps in Mexico.
Were not perfect over here in the US either of course.
Us, Mexico, there are idiots everwhere.
Sh!t needs to stop.
blvdnoise - 8/1/2012, 3:26 AM
Ridiculous.
Dartanian300 - 8/1/2012, 7:49 AM
It seems odd that this movie is about an uprising and the "villains" of the world have seemed to follow suit.
CPBuff22 - 8/1/2012, 8:34 AM
@Dartanian300 good point.
DanteSparda - 8/1/2012, 9:31 AM
JaAjAjAjaJaJaaJajjajaa seriously, I'm from Mexico and that robbing had nothing to do with The Dark Knight Rises, that kind of shit happens all the time, but those guys probably used Batman's mask for the cynicism of the situatuion, if the movie was never released those guys would have done the same in any other blockbuster movie, with different masks of course.

And for the fire it wasn't a fire at all, just caused a little cloud of smoke that triggered the fire alarm, the people got evacuated because of the water spraying in the teather, not because it was actually burning but here the press is way too sensationalistic.
