Why Christian Bale Turned Down A Whopping 50 Million To Return As BATMAN

A few weeks back reports surfaced that Bale was offered 50 million to return as Batman , since no legal complain was filed it is fairly safe to acknowledge the news was true . Since then I have gathered up some intel as to why Bale rejected the chance to return .

Recently a new ebook was published called 'Christian Bale: The Inside Story of the Darkest Batman' , the author of this book claimed that Bale has a 50 million offer to return as Batman . Though this news started quite a storm in a teacup , people quickly forgot about it after Ben Affleck was cast as the the caped crusader . But I closely followed the case , and even after days after the release of the ebook WB didn't file anything legal against the book or even mentioning at any point it is crystal clear that the news is true .
But then why did Bale rejected the offer ? Why did he turned down the chance to hon the batmobile once again ? Well , I did some digging the last few weeks and I believe I have unearthed some very logical infos as to why Bale might have rejected . Here I go :

1) Nolan lesser involvement : The only way Bale would have reurned Batman 4 was if Nolan had a major hand on it . But when it became clear to him that Nolan has no aspiration to direct anything comic book related anytime soon Bale simply chose not to return .

2) Didn't want to taint the TDK trilogy : This is not only Bale's concern but I was led to believe that it is one of Nolan's concerns as well . Apparently Nolan was far from happy with how MoS turned out, he's so upset that he pulled out of producing World's Finest (he's only the executive producer of WF) . Remember folks Cristian Bale is one of those very few elite actors who are not afraid of taking franchise roles and at the same time retain their artistic integrity . So , he was very possibly not sold on the direction the story and his character would be headed to .

3) Complications of the DCCU : DCCU or otherwise known as the DC Cinematic Universe , the one his Batman would have been a part of (had he returned) will take a otherwise interesting direction . Get this , as of now WB plans to manage their solo heroes completely differently than the MCU . The plan is this : 'Each movie about a solo superhero will feature an extended cameo(15-30 minutes) from at least one more superhero' . If this is to be true then it's possible that Batman could end up being second fiddle in a future DCCU movie . But at this point in his career Bale won't play second fiddle to nobody (unless it's an oscar bait role) .

4) Money is not an issue : As explained on the second point Bale has a high level of artistic integrity . Also the 50 million offer was for 2 movies .

All in all , I have uncovered this infos and know for certain Bale didn't come back for at least one of these reasons , could turn out to be all three though .

I'm glad he didn't come back. I don't have anything against the movies or Bale, but his Batman was weak as shiit. Hopefully, Afflecks Batman will be as strong as Captain America and as smart as Tony Stark.

he wasn't offer anything he wasn't coming back anyways his Bruce Wayne story is over so clear at the end of the last movie trilogy over.

Interesting...would have been cool to have him back as Batman to see how things progressed in the franchise. But I am still interested in seeing Ben Afflecks Batman. I hope it is inspired by Arkham City Batman.

Dude it's bullshit. Bale's Batman was just a buff rich dude who knew Krav Maga. He wasn't especially intelligent, he didn't invent any of his own gadgets except designing the suit which was manifactured by somebody else. His body was completely shot by the end of Dark Knight Rises and he definitely would not be able to hold his own against Superman. Oh and he totally was not the worlds greatest detective. Bale was a great Batman for Nolan's trilogy but we're talking about setting up the Justice League here. Snyder wouldn't have done it, Nolan wouldn't have done it because he respects his trilogy too much to pull that shit. So no, you're wrong.

The Smartest thing DC can do is carry through with the 15-30 minute Cameo's. That's the only thing Marvel is [frick]ing up on. Would of loved to see the Hulk Show up in Iron Man 3 to help him Tony Starks take care of business during the finale.

LMAOOOOO ... "Nolan was not happy with how MOS turned out" you're a bullshitter passing off his speculation as fact. Did not hear? just last Month Nolan had to approve the use of Barry Allen for "Arrow". Yeah.. the guy is still very much in the runnings of all things DC. Also, the author already clarified that Bale was NEVER offered anything and it was a joke he made about how Bale "could make $50 million just to be in Justice League for 20 minutes".. LMAO.. "I believe I have unearthed some very logical infos as to why Bale might have rejected ."
GTFO! This is not Cosmic Book news.. you don't just make shit up around here.

Offer or not, all I can say is, "thank Christ he is gone and Nolan is finally not an integral part to the DCU!"

Bale sucked as Batman, and Nolan turned the character into a pussy.

He couldn't reply to the offer due to a sore throat.

Nolan with less involvement in this DCCU means that it will be the final nail in the coffin. The only reason MoS was even average was because Nolan had a hand in crafting the story otherwise the movie would have been worst than Green Lantern or Catwoman just in the hands of Goyer and Synder alone. DC fans shouldn't be rejoicing because Nolan has less involvement you should all be crying rivers of tears.

reason 5....Bale didnt want Justin Bieber to be his Robin lol
JayJayCAW - 9/14/2013, 12:03 PM
yeah....I had to throw that in there :p

Seinfeld to George Costanza..."Artistic integrity? You're not an artist, and you don't have any integrity!"

This "Franchise actors" tend to do ONLY 3 movies tops ( a trilogy i mean).

That´s why RDJ would only make IM 1,2 and 3. and not a fourth part.

Surely there will be a Third AND LAST Sherlock H movie as well.
SirJediFrank - 9/17/2013, 12:42 PM
So it will be interesting to see if Will Smith will be in a fouth Men in Black...

the 50 million was not true, Bale said after the 3rd movie that he was done with batman and that he would return if nolan was directing it but nolan told him that he will never direct a batman movie again, all this is on video as well when he was promoting the dark knight rises and nolan said it as well.

As for nolan not being happy with MOS thats also not true, he was more then happy with it, it was him that made the movie happen in the first place and he put his own money into the movie!

Nolan will be invovled in all things DC movie wise, no matter who directs the future movies or writes them, everything will go through Nolan to make sure it maintains the quality level.

l'm a big fan of the dark knight trilogy and did not expect batman to rise again anytime soon but the thought of batman and superman on screen together is something to be seen.

The whole 15-30min showing of other heroes will be horrible... It can be done right sometimes, but they are called SOLO movies. Its a story about them, just like in the comics. They have their own adventures.

Half of this isn't even true no facts from the real person
GURILLAPUD - 10/9/2013, 8:05 AM
Glad that Bale and Nolan are not involved in the future of the DCU.
