THE DARK KNIGHT RISES' Concept Art Featuring Batman's High-Tech Knee Brace & EMP Gun

THE DARK KNIGHT RISES' Concept Art Featuring Batman's High-Tech Knee Brace & EMP Gun

Crime fighting can take quite the toll on the body, which is something Bruce Wayne (Christian Bale) experienced in Christopher Nolan's Batman Trilogy. But never fear Lucius Fox is always there with a quick fix, this time he invents a high-tech knee brace.

The Dark Knight Rises is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. The film stars Christian Bale as Bruce Wayne/Batman, Michael Caine as Alfred Pennyworth, Gary Oldman as Jim Gordon, Tom Hardy as Bane, Anne Hathaway as Selina Kyle, Joseph Gordon-Levitt as John "Robin" Blake and Marion Cotillard as Miranda Tate/Talia al Ghul.

For Your Consideration: Best High-Tech Knee Brace
IgnurRant - 12/26/2012, 4:53 PM
Great movie. Fantastic Trilogy. Comicbook movies are in a good place.
Fogs - 12/26/2012, 4:53 PM
Oh, that knee brace would be so much better... The one in the movie felt so cheap and fake.
santoanderson - 12/26/2012, 4:57 PM
Wait, was Batman originally meant to wear the knee brace on top of the suit? That would have looked a little strange, to say the least. Batman hobbling around with a roll cage on his knee.
CoLest - 12/26/2012, 4:59 PM
Fogs I agree
DarkGrifter - 12/26/2012, 5:03 PM
EMP rifle #3 looks awesome, although Nolan probably wanted to go with something that looked less like an actual gun.
IgnurRant - 12/26/2012, 5:17 PM

1. Uh. He actually did. The first fight he tried to maych Baen's ferocity much like when Bruce fought the Mutant Leader in TDKReturns. In the second fight he used mostly counters and then attacked his mask.

2. Why would he need to upgrade it? If anything I would expect him to swtch to his BB suit with the TDK cowl if he needed extra armor.
TheGambitFreak - 12/26/2012, 5:22 PM
A Knee Brace that magically conjurers cartilage into a knee that is clearly documented by a licensed professional with a doctorate as not having cartilage...

CharlesLord - 12/26/2012, 5:25 PM
Maximus101 - 12/26/2012, 5:32 PM
@thegambitfreak yet because iron man being in a metal suit he can hit the ground or a wall doing Mach one and survive let alone not be hurt... It's a movie man.
TheGambitFreak - 12/26/2012, 5:32 PM

The [frick] is this sorcery? :)
ALmazing - 12/26/2012, 5:39 PM
For your consideration: Best Recluse Billionaire Beard Style. Why couldn't Bruce grow a full beard?
GodzillaKart - 12/26/2012, 5:40 PM
Great acting in all of Nolan's Bat films...but I'm tired of mincing words, outside of TDK, these movies suck. And even TDK is pretty bad as a drama. Heath was great, but the story arc was poop.
0bstreperous - 12/26/2012, 5:47 PM
The concept designers were lazy...u guys should read my article where I describe my experience as an extra in this film

I was utterly dissapointed and that's not a good feeling I wouldn't troll or make this up a good superhero movie can have lasting positive effects on a fans life
damntree - 12/26/2012, 5:54 PM
^TheGambitFreak - Gun metal is pretty common for guns. If you mean the yellow stripe then sometimes colored stripes are used to easily identify friendly targets. I'd say it's just coincidence.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 12/26/2012, 6:03 PM
They should of went with EMP #1. Looks so sick.
THEDARKKNIGHT1939 - 12/26/2012, 6:05 PM
The complaints in this article are sad LOL
PenditaMarah - 12/26/2012, 6:08 PM
Here comes the complainers from the people who hates dan slott's spider-man.hahahahahahaahahah pathethic.
PenditaMarah - 12/26/2012, 6:09 PM
These people are so hate with dan slott's spider-man,which is resembles with batman, and they tryin to bash batman,here....nice stratergy, marvel fanboy.pretending as batman die hard fans, that's ass,you know.
TheGambitFreak - 12/26/2012, 6:09 PM
Color scheme was poor choosing of words. Look at the design, the gun, the top, where the yellow stripe is located, that whole section of the gun is the exact same as the Halo Reach Rifle.
PenditaMarah - 12/26/2012, 6:32 PM
TheGambitFreak - rage and unsatisfied marvel fanboys who goes rage and attack each batman's movie articles after he realized that dan slott's robbed his spider-man...uuuhhhhh pity on you.
DioFoRio - 12/26/2012, 6:32 PM
lol Batman wears Burkentocks.
lapress - 12/26/2012, 6:33 PM
Christopher Nolan should do Gantz!
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 12/26/2012, 6:48 PM
^^^^^^ Lol if you are Intruders bitch, then you don't know shit about life :P
SmellofDuty - 12/26/2012, 6:51 PM
dubWookWook- Simple. He never upgraded because he didn't have to. He never planned on being Batman after Dent's death, so why upgrade his suit if he thought he would never use it again?
ahhmynuts - 12/26/2012, 7:02 PM

1. how? bane knows every move and was always 2-3 steps ahead. if bane didnt have to wear that mask he would he EASILY beat an already broken down batman.

2. in the 8 year gap batman was "retired" so why would he upgrade it? and when it comes to upgrading his suit after meeting bane, how? when? by the time he gets back to gotham after being thrown in the pit he has less than 24 hours to save the city...

batman "i want to save the city...but let me fix my suit first, the people can wait..."

how about you actually try to understand the movie before nitpicking.
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 12/26/2012, 7:08 PM
Lol, right back at ya slick,
haha i like your sense of humor, you are cool ^_^
GodzillaKart - 12/26/2012, 7:13 PM
@nailbiter111: Why do you have to assume that I like shitty movies like Dragonball Z just because I can point out the flaws in Nolan's Bat films? The acting is great. The tech is great. But even in TDK, by far the best in the series, the story is garbage. Nobody cared when Harvey's face was burnt off or when what's her name blew up. The "moral dilemma" on the boats was dumb.

I think they are OK movies, but when they are talked about as "masterpieces", every thinking person cringes. They are simply not very good dramas. Nothing really makes sense or carries any dramatic weight. Bale's choice to take the fall for Harvey does not even make sense.

Some great performances, but really not good movies.
Maximus101 - 12/26/2012, 7:25 PM
@godzilla it's more or less the fact the you don't point out the huge list of flaws with any of the marvel movies specially the avengers. Literally every person I get into conversations about with movies specifically say TDK is amazing and one of their top films and they could care less about comics or any fanboy crap. Your most certainly wrong when you think people cringe When stating the obvious. Even critics admit that TDK is still the best cbm to date.
ahhmynuts - 12/26/2012, 7:25 PM
^ lol look at these movie snobs that think they know everything
TheGambitFreak - 12/26/2012, 7:33 PM
Who the hell brought up Dan Slott's Spider-Man? I don't care about that. When have I ever commented on Dan Slott's Spider-Man? Spider-Man comics have reeked of a foul shit stench for the last 5 or so years.

The reason I comment on the asinine things in TDKR is because, more than Avengers, more than Judge Dredd, more than every comic book character or affiliation (Except X-Men), I'm a Batman fan. It just sucks because we've had 3 Batman movies in the last 7 years and the only one that truly feels like a Batman film came out 7 years ago.

Maximus101 - 12/26/2012, 7:33 PM
Including yourself ^^
theomegasanction - 12/26/2012, 7:34 PM
what i don't understand about the movie is that after he is beaten by bane why doesn't he change his costume into another animal? obviously the whole "Batman" theme did not strike fear into bane. so when he fought him next he should have tried something different like "Lizardman" or "ButterflyMan".
Maximus101 - 12/26/2012, 7:38 PM
@thegambitfreak the thing is that if they made comic book movies just for comic book fans, the movie would make no money. Literally every 9 out of 10 people that go into the movie theater no nothing about the source material or anything. What they care about is if it's good or not, that's it! That's why Nolan's movies made so much money because people left the theater saying "wow I did not expect it to be that good" same goes with the avengers and such. When it comes to cbm, there will always be fanboys who dissagree with its done and you should know that the book or comics are always better than the movie.
SmellofDuty - 12/26/2012, 7:39 PM
^^^Or the Llamaman or possibly Poodleman..
Maximus101 - 12/26/2012, 7:39 PM
@theomegadanction you clearly know nothing about batman if you just said that.
theomegasanction - 12/26/2012, 7:40 PM
sorry, just teasing, could not resist. I do see the upgrading the suit to compensate for physical handicaps, but i thought that what the knee brace was about. as for fighting bane the second time i felt it was less about learning the weakness of a foe and more about slugging it out, just my opinion. Also I agree with GambitFreak, the first movie was the only one that seemed to be set in Gotham City.
SmellofDuty - 12/26/2012, 7:41 PM
Or Snowmanman or Blowfishman or maybe even Roosterman
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 12/26/2012, 7:41 PM
TDK made people drop that stupid condescending "cbms are for kids"/ "i took my kids to see ****** and was surprised i enjoyed it(I work at a hospital and hear this shit alot from parents on avengers, [frick]ing annoying)". TDK & TDKR in conversations none of that condescending shit, we can debate/argue/fight over it without some fool hiding behind "it's good for a kids movie/eh ma gerd are we actually discussing a kids movie" excuse. So imho, they are masterpieces for breaking that stereotype. Blade is the only other movie that does that, Burton came close but [frick]ed up with magical resurrection catwoman/killer penguins and critics bashed him for making a kids movie dark, smh.
