The Bat is basically the Bat-Copter rather than the Batwing.

I actually really like the design and never thought that it was ever meant to be a plane.
blvdnoise - 6/14/2012, 3:11 PM
iLike it.. CAN NOT WAIT!!!
MJPETTY7 - 6/14/2012, 3:26 PM
I think Nolan grew up on 60's Batman and his life's goal is to wipe it out...
GuardianAngel - 6/14/2012, 3:29 PM
I need to get me one of those.
AlSimmons - 6/14/2012, 3:29 PM
Is that a pic of Harvey Dent that bane's holding?? Hmmmmmm
ralfinader - 6/14/2012, 3:30 PM
Like the detail put into the Bat, I could see this sucker being used by the military in a few decades (yeah yeah, if it really worked).
Theodora - 6/14/2012, 3:32 PM
"gives PILOTS"

Catwoman will be Batman's sidekick in this!
MitchConner - 6/14/2012, 3:33 PM
That commercial is much more promising...have hope now
angus666 - 6/14/2012, 3:34 PM
@AlSimmons maybe he's explaining what really happened with Harvey? I don't know.

For some weird reason, I'm just not as excited for this as I was for The Dark Knight or Begins. I wish I was more excited.
GingerBird - 6/14/2012, 3:36 PM
What is that CD?!
95 - 6/14/2012, 3:39 PM
SHH describes the device as a Fusion Reactor. And we know that Miranda Tate is interested in "clean energy" -- and as a board member, can direct the company towards developing the technology. Doctor Pavel could easily reverse the process so the device could function as a weapon.

Fusion Reactors leak radiation, and Gordon has been seen carrying a tablet-device, possibly tracking it with "energy expert" Tate.

DarthBob - 6/14/2012, 3:43 PM
Wow Bane, how'd you get a IT-O interrogation droid off the death star?
95 - 6/14/2012, 3:43 PM
@AlSimmons -- I guess you're late on the info?
BrickWall - 6/14/2012, 3:44 PM
The Bat looks [frick]ing BadAss!
DukeAcureds - 6/14/2012, 3:48 PM
I've figured something out about TDKR.
Now, this realisation should be given serious credence, as I came about it whilst watching Young Sherlock Holmes, today. So it may aswell have come from the mouth of Christiphor Nolan.
I realised two things:
1 - Young Sherlock Holmes wants to be Temple of Doom a little bit too much.
2 - Marion Cottilard is not Talia. She is Nyssa.
PeterParker1991 - 6/14/2012, 4:00 PM
Nice pictures.
Otisburg - 6/14/2012, 4:18 PM
SO BASICALLY SHOOT THOSE LITTLE TWO PISS ANT BOAT PROPS UNDERNEATH "the bat" AND IT WILL STOP HOVERING....LOL!!! RIDICULOUS!
darkmetal - 6/14/2012, 4:20 PM
After the conclusion to this trilogy it will stand as the greatest Film Series Comic Adaption ever produced.
Donners Superman #1 was great but the time change ending wasnt and the Salkinds ruined his 2nd Superman and then 3+4 were horrible beyond belief.
The Batman 90's film series were a waste of time.
Raimis Spider-Man series had one sub par entry.
X-3 killed the X-Men series.
Iron Man was great but Iron Man 2 is possibly far worse than it gets credit for.
patriautism - 6/14/2012, 4:26 PM
@Catwoman1 I'm pretty sure they will fly it together.. It even shows Batman and Catwoman both strapping into the Bat in the trailer..
She even says "My mother warned me about getting into cars with strange men" and he replies "This isn't a car"...
MCUFan1 - 6/14/2012, 4:26 PM
Christopher nolan has a plan and his plan is to include batman beyond at the end
ralfinader - 6/14/2012, 4:30 PM
@Darkmetal - So you have seen TDKR? Spoilers please! Does Batman die?
worldbreaker - 6/14/2012, 4:35 PM
i was thinking he would go with azrael batman after this. but i guess its basically the same as batman beyond but in different timelines. bane's mysterious device just looks like a big fancy bomb to me. hopefully it's a bit more creative than that. i'm thinking this doesnt kill bruce wayne. he'll probably be in a wheelchair at the end. i really hope i didnt predict it though because i apparently write terrible movies hehe
darkmetal - 6/14/2012, 4:41 PM
@ralfinader TDKR is obviously on the level of the other 2 films. Which will be confirmed to those in doubt in just 3 weeks.
@MCUFan1 Nolan's Batman is a bit more complex than DC comics. The conclusion involves Bruce Waynes realization that his reaction to the murder of his parents made his life worse not better.
Levitt's John Blake isn't going to go from a cop to suiting up as Batman. At that point Batman would be just a costume as in DC comics were they have so many Batmen, its a franchise.
StaticMan - 6/14/2012, 4:45 PM
MY "ENDING" THEORY
After defeating Bane and his mercs, Batman tows Bane's device into the skies of Gotham where it detonates, destroying the Bat and killing Batman.
OnLeatherWings - 6/14/2012, 5:04 PM
Intruder @ green lantern/batman avatar right here. Not going anywhere. Intruder sounds a little worried now.
Alexandre - 6/14/2012, 5:06 PM
i gotta admit, it does look a little like a cockroach but its badass either way. lol
thewonderer - 6/14/2012, 5:17 PM
@Intruder

I would like my fight with you to be the subject of a film.

Call it Troll Vs. Wonderer

And you know what? MY BODY IS READY.

Bring up all your complaints about the film right here right now....

and I'll prove how Nolans Bat Trilogy is actually more accurate than Marvels Cinematic Universe.

I'll prove how MOST, cause I have changes I disagree with, of his changes were for the better.

So come on, don't insult my character. Don't pussy out and start insulting me. This has nothing to do with me or you. It has to do with outright lying and trolling.

So lets do this, your move
thewonderer - 6/14/2012, 5:18 PM
Oh and IM53, Heat will win. The big 3 will own
batfan175 - 6/14/2012, 5:20 PM
@angus666 (what i'm saying here is not specifically aimed at you but at the people who moan and complain since last year's summer): you've been watching spoilers like these here for almost a year now and gotten so used to it by now that there's no element of surprise left. I told everyone back then "don't look at stuff before it's officially released" but you people had to do it anyway; It's not very respectful towards cinema as an artform and it ruins the cinematic experience for you. Why do you guys need to see stuff in advance? should we all agree that if you look at spoilers on the internet you don't get to complain about how your expectations are not as high as you'd hoped? because THAT'S what spoilers do to you.
RunawaysHD - 6/14/2012, 5:21 PM
This film is gonna be crazy though
kingshnake - 6/14/2012, 5:31 PM
IF yuo are hating on this movie watch the footage that was shown at the mtv awards this will crush avengers at the box office
Robert - 6/14/2012, 5:32 PM
I can't wait to buy this from Hot Toys.
Darkhaven - 6/14/2012, 5:36 PM
-.-

Everyone has their favorite bit of Batman gear. The Batwing was mine. You can't go from the sleek, stylish and functional form, to this:

THAT is Nolan's source of inspiration, despite the VTOL rockets and cockpit. Say what you want, this kicks ass for Terminator flicks, but sucks for Batman.
R888 - 6/14/2012, 5:50 PM
The bat looks badass
nowtheresaBATman - 6/14/2012, 5:54 PM
@thewonderer The Thunder will roll right over the big 2 1/2. :)
Darkhaven - 6/14/2012, 5:55 PM
@Maximus101: A quick glance at your avatar there says that you will never say it does. I don't even have to mention your previous posts.
thewonderer - 6/14/2012, 5:56 PM
@yoss

Batman didn't kill Ras

A premeditated murder is to

"Think out or plan a murder"

Batman didn't plan to kill him, he planned to STOP him. And Batman didn't put Ras on the train. Ras got himself there. If anything, Gordons the murderer for blowing down the train legs.

If you think about it, Batman didn't need to be on that train with Ras. All that had to happen was those train legs being destroyed.

As for Two Face, I personally would call it an accident. It was a mistake.

But moreso, remember Wayne gives up being Batman for 8 years because of it. Consider this first kill of his the end of Batman. Its only when Bane rises up, that he must come back. He has to. Thats what TDKR is about. Can Wayne just come back as "Batman" after breaking his one rule?

@IM53

To be honest dude, I live in Miami but am probably the only non basketball fan here. I could care less. Still, there are times I feel bad for not caring. So, no betting, but I hope the Heat win

Gerrit - 6/14/2012, 6:27 PM
I don't think people will discover Batman's identity. The whole point of Batman being a symbol is that he is more than just a man. If they discover he is Bruce, it will be pretty obvious that there's nothing special about Batman.
Now, the Bat doesn't look good, they could have made a better design. For me, the best Batman gear of all movies is the Tumbler.
mgeoff88 - 6/14/2012, 6:35 PM
The Batwing or 'The Bat' is outfitted with some nice weapons, for sure.

I'm just not too crazy about that actual design of it.

@Darkhaven I agree with you. It looks kind of clunky, and isn't exactly aerodynamic.

This is the Batwing to me:

timepuzzler - 6/14/2012, 6:42 PM
mgeoff88 - 6/14/2012, 6:56 PM
Heh, the Batwing is too dark in that picture I posted up.

There we go. That's much better. :)

@yoss That scene always bugs the hell out me in Batman Begins. Batman could have easily saved Ra's. When I saw that in the theaters, I knew right then and there, Nolan's Batman wasn't the same Batman from the comics.

If he was written as Batman in the comics, well, we wouldn't even be talking about this.
thewonderer - 6/14/2012, 7:16 PM
@mgeoff88

Saved Ras and then what? Arkham was destroyed. Where would he put Ras? This is a good change. Comic villains don't magically conveniently stay locked up. TAS portrayed this perfectly. There would be no way for Nolan to keep him alive and justifiably have him reasonably contained.

@yossarian

Putting someone in a situation where they cannot live through is not the same thing as killing. Also again, it wasn't Batman that even did the train leg destroying. It was Gordon. He didn't plan his murder.

If Batman breaks some legs and some arms, than a man later dies because of it somehow. Did Batman kill him? Yes and No.

Batmans line stands strong: "I'm not going to kill you (this translates to he didn't kill him), but I don't have to save you (Ras got himself there, Gordon knocked down the train)
Tainted87 - 6/14/2012, 7:57 PM
I want to like it, I really do. But the Bat just looks like a dropship from the Sulaco, only smaller and far less streamlined. I'm not comparing it to Marvel's stuff, I just... you would think a billion dollars would buy a cooler design. Police and mercenary extras alike are going to be looking awestruck because it's scripted - and we're expected to follow suit.
Mendenhall12 - 6/14/2012, 8:04 PM
what book is this from?
Tainted87 - 6/14/2012, 8:08 PM
@thewonderer

Jaime Foxx: "You killed him?"
Tom Cruise: "No, I shot him. The bullets and the fall killed him."

Clear something up for me, because I although I've seen it about a dozen times, I still don't remember - who is it that repeatedly stabs/sabotages the train controls? Is it Ra's or Batman?

Also, with Dent planned as the DA for The Dark Knight, why would it be unthinkable to lock Ra's up? Truthfully, what would likely happen is that he would have agents either break him out or have him transferred to another city or state, where he would be broken out/released by a carefully planned mistrial.

Still, in No Man's Land, with the entire city of Gotham more or less destroyed (Arkham gone, Blackgate a mess), Batman still finds a way to lock up the crazies.
TheSoulEater - 6/14/2012, 8:14 PM
ALL OF MY WANT
StarkReactor - 6/14/2012, 8:48 PM
@yossarian

It wasn't Batman that killed Ras and Two Face. It was gravity's fault.
Bigred20 - 6/14/2012, 8:51 PM
I'm guessing Bane types in latitude and longitude of the target
Flips the switch...football field gone
Then in another scene he blows up the three bridges
Lego - 6/14/2012, 9:39 PM
don't mind Intruder.

he was touched as a child
TheBatman50k - 6/14/2012, 9:40 PM
Liking the design of "The Bat" a lot. Kind of looks like The Tumbler that flies.
