The 'Imported from Gotham City' contest begins today, allowing contestants to edit clips from Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises and the Chrysler brand into a TV spot. Some of these quick clips feature brand new footage. Check it out!

Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ "The Dark Knight Rises" is the epic conclusion to filmmaker Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. The screenplay is written by Christopher Nolan and Jonathan Nolan, story by Christopher Nolan & David S. Goyer. The film is produced by Emma Thomas, Christopher Nolan and Charles Roven, who previously teamed on “Batman Begins” and the record-breaking blockbuster "The Dark Knight." The executive producers are Benjamin Melniker, Michael E. Uslan, Kevin De La Noy and Thomas Tull, with Jordan Goldberg serving as co-producer. The film is based upon characters appearing in comic books published by DC Comics. Batman was created by Bob Kane.


The Dark Knight Rises opens in theaters July 20th. The film stars Christian Bale, Tom Hardy, Anne Hathaway, Gary Oldman, Morgan Freeman, Joseph Gordon Levitt and Marion Colltiard.

I'm sure the movie will be great but I still can't get over how goofy Bane's mask looks. I sink something more similar to this would have been better.

I agree with you, but I have this theory; they wanted Bane's mask to look scary, but not like Halloween scary, but more like subconsciously scary, so they make it look like a muzzle like if the person wearing it were a feral beast (ala Hannibal Lecter), and the fact that Bane have his head shaved and scarred only reinforces that look, also the part of the mask that goes in the mouth looks like skeletal fingers trying to open his mouth so I think that helps sells a little more the frightening factor.

The extended cut of Catwoman on the pod was nice. Anne Hathaway looks phenomenal. She's gonna be a scene stealer.

I love the shot where she is staring at Batman. So many emotions. She is kind of in love with him and at the same time, she has never seen someone so selfless. Someone willing to give up his own to save the city he loves.

and ya, from the clips i've seen it looks like Hathaway and Hardy are gonna kill it with this movie.
wish we had more from JGL and Cotillard though.

@ MadJakHatesSpinoffs, that mask you posted is honestly much worse than the Bane mask. It's just too generic, and it's one of the reasons why I'm glad they didn't go that route. The reason why Bane's mask works is it's memorable. Regardless if you think it looks goofy or not, it's not a mask you'd likely forget. And no one out there really looks like Bane. He looks distinct.

Didn't the costume designer say Bane's mask is meant to look like a muzzle?

Anyway, Anne Hathaway is nailing pretty much every scene she's in. Never saw that happening to be honest.

As every passing day with more footage comes out.... People are getting more & more convicted on Anne Hathaway!! (again leaving Marvel-jealous-Monsters)!

I still can say this with 200% guarantee that whatever film Nolan makes next & actor he'll chose will be critisiced & then again & again all doubters will be proven wrong!!

oh, really? well, i don't think the REAL batman in the 60's or 70's or 80's and so on were too dark. so now you're saying that batman is an adult's wet dream? lols. i like BATMAN, the real one, the version the comics, and mostly on the tv shows he was involved in. when i was a kid its either spidey, superman, batman.

lol on "they call it the dark knight for a reason lol". THE DARK KNIGHT is a nametag for batman in the comics, that's the reason. i'd say it's dark, but not that too dark of a nolan version.

i don't even know that "Insomia", "Memento" movie. and oh, Inception? made me sleep. so i watched 20minutes then fell asleep. then i continue later, another 20minutesand sleep. like that till i watched thewhole boring movie. GREAT IDEAS, BUT KISS-ASSING AND BORING PRESENTATION.

Maybe if you read the "real" batman (from the comics in the 40s) you'd know that he was actually a dark character similar to those in other "detective comics". The lighter and campy versions of Batman were forced by committees of idiotic parents. Look at 80's Batman titles like Year One and Returns and pretty much any other Batman title in the last 30 years and you'll know he's a darker character.

Nolan didn't invent "dark" Batman. Bob Kane and Bill Finger did. Nolan didn't "humanize" Batman. He's always been HUMANIZED. There's no need to do that with Spiderman or The Avengers. It works with Batman, and Nolan has perfected that aspect of Batman. If you want to watch a cheesey colorful Batman, watch the 60s Adam West movie or Joel Shumacher's movies. Those, and those committees of idiotic parents, are the ones that raped Batman. Not Nolan.

Insomnia was Nolan's "bad egg", in my opinion, and it wasn't even that bad. Rant over.
