Catwoman was phenomenal but I wouldn't go as far as say she was better than Mr.J. Hell naw!!! I did adore Anne in this.Especially the Catwoman/Batman team up felt like something truly special.
MrReese - 7/20/2012, 5:14 AM

zmikey - 7/20/2012, 5:22 AM
Is no one gonna make an article about the shootings? I mean, sure, it's not actual comic movie news, but it happened during one and many are injured and at least 12 dead.... sort of big news
SteveRogersSon - 7/20/2012, 5:22 AM
Its ok grif let them have their day
Greengo - 7/20/2012, 5:28 AM
lmao look @ nailbiter being all innovative and shit.

pretty cool : )
RorMachine - 7/20/2012, 5:29 AM
Good stuff..agree with most of it. Although I saw definite improvement with the fight scenes, I mean they still weren't QUITE as impactful as they could have been, but like you say, the story they tell makes up for it. That first scrap with Bane is one of best moments in the movie for me. Oh and as good as Hathaway was, better than Ledger? Nah!
xNightwingx - 7/20/2012, 5:32 AM
Great review.

UncleJimmy - 7/20/2012, 5:53 AM
tough on movies with plot holes???
Ive seen you say the dark knight was a masterpiece multiple times even though there are more plot holes in that than transformers 2...
let others judge if you are tough or not, you come across as biased. 2 near perfect reviews from editors who have kissed nolans ass in the past..

way to biased to take serious.
"Nolan universe blah blah blah blah"

why dont you just come right out and say you want to have his babies dude.
SebHope - 7/20/2012, 5:58 AM
As a closer it was good but its not great, their is alot that feels like could of been cut or a little tweaked to make the movie flow better, good ending, the film felt far more like a blockbuster of commercial version then the previous films which isnt bad, but it did include some fantasical elements that were missing from the series to make it really feel like batman...then again hes not in it much. It just tryed to hard to explain or have alot of exposition for the first hour that the film felt overstuffed, but over all a great trilogy.

Anne Hathaway was just fantastic!
She stole the show for me. Best character in my opinion. She truly did a fantastic job,and does deserve an Oscar.
SteveRogersSon - 7/20/2012, 6:08 AM
Yawn..I'll see this when it hits redbox
UncleJimmy - 7/20/2012, 6:08 AM

unclejimmy - "(The Dark Knight) had more plot holes in that than transformers 2"

looks like a troll comment, smells like a troll comment, it must a .....

that might be the silliest thing i've ever seen anyone write.

inky - 7/20/2012, 6:09 AM
i take it your review is like the nolan movie removed from original sources for example check out bane and the reason he was introduced to batman stories look at the images of bane then tell people how nolans freak bears any resemblance to the original bane.
grief if you do a CBM you use the source material or its not a CBM but a rip off.
ekrolo2 - 7/20/2012, 6:10 AM
Yeah Nolan doesnt know how to film fight scenes that well, but this was still WAY better than the mind[frick] that the fight scenes in Begins were.
Mysterion - 7/20/2012, 6:13 AM
Kudos Nailbiter on your review!!!!
UncleJimmy - 7/20/2012, 6:14 AM
objective reviews cannot have feelings involved.
I knew what you and Ror would rate this 2 months ago.
way way way to emotionally involved with the director and his films to have an unbiased opinion.
darkmetal - 7/20/2012, 6:18 AM
@inky 100% of CBM's are adaptions. Directors and writers should not be tied into replicating another creators work.

And if you think about it, most comics are also merely an adaption of a character or story created by others.

For example the Marvel writers in the 60's, 70's and 80's did not create characters or stories with the intention that recent Marvel writers resurrect Norman Osborne, have Gwen Stacy have sex with Osborne, have Peter and MJ erase their marriage by making a deal with Marvel's Satan.

Even if it is the actual comic, its still just someones interpretation of pre existing characters. Just like the films.
skot888 - 7/20/2012, 6:18 AM
I honestly hated this movie. I felt the fights where meh When Bane breaks the Bat it looks like it had no real impact.. wrestlers on Monday Night Raw do it better. That ending on that ending the fires of hate it sparks.. If they would have ended it at the "Gathering on the Wayne Grounds after the Gordon speech" trying to make that as obtuse as possible for people that didn't see it but recognizable for people that did. I would have actually been okay with it, but the scenes that followed.. OMG the Nerd Rage it built in me hasn't been that high since X-Men Origins Wolverines Deadpool
Folchibas - 7/20/2012, 6:18 AM
This movie was brilliant
nailbiter111 - 7/20/2012, 6:20 AM
unclejimmy - i gave the good and the bad in the review. it is you who is being bias. i'll give you and intruder one warning. no more comments from either of you two because you aren't having healthy debates. you just want to be anti-nolan. that means no reply.
CrowPirate1 - 7/20/2012, 6:24 AM
Great review. You know... all in all.. I still like TDK better. lol. go ahead and hate me, but.. nothing can top, for me, the Joker, and Heath's stunning work.

and actually, maybe this movie.. should have actually waited until Bale really aged 15 more years to be made... and the emotions of Heath dying was not in my heart and soul. or in fans that still hold that movie up so high.

It's a tough act to follow. It is almost like... the trilogy should have ended with just a duo.

But that said, it wasn't a bad movie at all. and I loved the review Nailbiter. I guess I just didn't know what to expect. Or want.
RorMachine - 7/20/2012, 6:25 AM
Nail, please don't delete their comments, they are too amusing. The movie currently holds an 86% on RT, apparently all of those positive reviews came from biased Nolanites too..who'd a thunk it!
nailbiter111 - 7/20/2012, 6:28 AM
i don't know to be honest with you. was i looking for it? at times but it wasn't the message that i felt Nolan wanted to get across. You can bury the truth with lies, but no matter what the truth will come to the surface. I felt he used Bane being in the sewer as a metaphor for this, but maybe I'm reading to much into it.
GoILL - 7/20/2012, 6:29 AM
Nice good review nailbiter I look forward to seeing it this weekend.
Interpool3 - 7/20/2012, 6:30 AM
I honestly have no idea how so many people are giving this pile of shit good reviews. I don't know if I have ever been so let down walking out of a movie theater in my life. Nolan made two phenomenal Batman films, I am going to pretend like TDKR never happened so it won't ruin the previous movies for me.
nailbiter111 - 7/20/2012, 6:32 AM
@RorMachine - well put Ror! i just don't get why people troll a subject like a broken record. i don't mind if people don't like something i like or vice versa. for me i enjoy debating having a good reason behind one's view. sell me on your reasoning, but just saying silly troll comments? well i'm not putting up with it. time for some people to act like adults.
TheYesGuy - 7/20/2012, 6:32 AM
The Movie was Pretty good. But just don't compare it to TDK. This is a stand alone movie.

Some of the things I didn't quite connect to were,
1. Bane Breaking the Bat.It didn't have much of an Impact.
2. Miranda-Wayne thing didn't quite work out.
3. Editing could have been better in the first half.

But Nolan has done the rest of the things bang on.
This movie really belongs to Bruce Wayne. Bale Rocks.

And Heath Ledger, WHY THE HELL ARE U DEAD??????
nailbiter111 - 7/20/2012, 6:35 AM
a good example of healthy debate is NinjaJesus' post. he brings up some very good reasons why he scored the film lower than i did. that's how it should be.
SUPERSHADOWBAT - 7/20/2012, 6:39 AM
Great review Nailbiter. I thought you picked it apart and was very objective, so even with it's little flaws you justified your rating. Knowing that TDKR is the final film of the trilogy, Nolan had to pack a lot of content in it to wrap it up properly. Again Nails, great review, cannot wait to see it this weekend.
GoILL - 7/20/2012, 6:41 AM
@Interpool3 they gave it that rating because they enjoyed it and it's THEIR review of the movie.
deadpool27 - 7/20/2012, 6:45 AM
awesome review can't wait to see this 1:00 pm can't come soon enough
darkmetal - 7/20/2012, 6:46 AM
Its horrible how one man was able to interfere with and end the lives of those people in Denver.

Right now CNN and FOX are turning the tragedy into a TV show with flashy titles like "THE BATMAN MOVIE MASSACRE","THE BATMAN SHOOTINGS".

Bandrews1 - 7/20/2012, 6:47 AM
Fantastic review man, only one more day before I'll get to see it.
skot888 - 7/20/2012, 6:49 AM
@Uncle Jimmy I really couldn't have said it better. In my honest opinion, if you liked this movie or the end you should go burn all your Batman comics and never look at one again.

Now that's just how I feel it doesn't mean you actually should go do that (really please don't comics are a work of art and should be preserved not destroyed.) Also it means it shouldn't affect how you feel because I am but one lowly voice on the interwebs and really my opinion which is my own no matter how much you may dislike it, really doesn't affect you at all.
inky - 7/20/2012, 6:54 AM
how does this relate to nighfall apart from the name bane i mean this movies bane adaptation would get molested by robin rather than harm the bat give comic book readers some credit bane like doomsday were introduced to kill off both batman and superman due to falling sales it worked more comics were bought.
this bane would have killed the comic book franchize sorry mr nolan your take stinks like left over bat droppings.
bestintheworld - 7/20/2012, 6:54 AM
Good movie, not great. TDK as a whole was better, but the best moments from Rises are better than the best moments from TDK. Great ending though, went almost entirely as I expected.
