Scarlett Johansson on The Winter Soldier, Black Widow Film, Her Costume, And Much More

Scarlett Johansson sat down in LA and discussed many things about Black widow and the Marvel Cinematic Universe. So hit the jump to see many things that Johansson had to say about the MCU. Check it out!

Scarlett Johanson Sat Down With Some Bloggers In LA and talked about alot of things about the MCU. She first talked about the black widow film that has recently been a topic is the MCU "The thing about working with Marvel is that how loud the audience voice is. Marvel, and particularly Kevin Feige, is such a fan of the source material himself that he understands the fans are kind of what drive this train. If people want a Black Widow film, I’m sure that we can get something together." She then talked about her costume and the features that come with it." The Widow costume is probably the most comfortable of the superhero suits because it doesn’t require a built-in air conditioning unit, like [Chris "Thor"] Hemsworth’s does. I don’t have under-armor. I don’t have a huge leather cape, headdress, whatever. It’s pretty straightforward."She then Added, "It’s kind of like a wet suit actually: sort of this one piece. And I’m always amazed when it goes on and zips up. I’m like, “Wow, it’s on.”". She Lastly Talks ABout how her role in the Captain America film is different from her other roles. That’s interesting. First of all, when the character is talking to Loki [in The Avengers], she’s kind of putting up this front. She’s not, as we come to realize, being completely honest with him. It’s partly for her Widow face that she wears. And in this film, we really get to see a lot more of Natasha. I like to think that Natasha has a romantic side." After how Black Widow was portrayed in TWS, I would most definitely go and see a solo film revolving around her.
Shroombeast - 4/3/2014, 12:15 PM
I've been reading her current comic series and I have to say, a Black Widow film has a lot of potential. But there are dozens of other Marvel characters I'd like to see get the solo film treatment first.
MexicanSuperman - 4/3/2014, 12:19 PM
Only if their is a sex scene with the Mexican Superman in the movie, then I would want one.
Gusto - 4/3/2014, 12:24 PM
I have no desire to see another one
of Mexican Superman's sex scenes.
Yuck!

"The Budapest Objective" sounds like a Ludlum novel.

Wouldn't mind seeing a Black Widow, would actually really like on, but only if it's as an extra film, wouldn't want it to fill one of the two reserved slots per year. Once they maybe do 3, then I'd love to see a Widow film

After her development in Winter Soldier and all the backstory and such mentioned in Avengers, be great to see that play out.

And "Ludlum" sounds like somethin' you catch after licking a urinal puck.

Oh, and good work today, NightWatcher.

I have less than no interest in a Black Widow solo movie. I'd be cool with the one shot about Budapest, but I am truly hoping her character dies in AOU
MexicanSuperman - 4/3/2014, 12:40 PM
@MrSidTheExploitiveDeletedSloth, haha. McGee was one sassy lady...or a man. "Runs away crying"
Doopie - 4/3/2014, 12:43 PM
i agree, nightwatcher...good shit

as for a BW solo movie...i like her and i thought in Cap 2 she was particularly good but i just don't think it's needed and would rather they did a new character first. if they got black panther and strange out the way, i wouldn't mind after that
Rulk - 4/3/2014, 12:44 PM
This was her best look :

I hope Budapest is left completely alone and as a humorous throwaway line.

What's with the weird capitalization in this article? I just imagine the pinky having some kinda twitch and holding the shift randomly.
cipher - 4/3/2014, 1:03 PM
I've always thought of the Budapest thing as a throwaway line. Nothing more.
ruadh - 4/3/2014, 1:13 PM
@cipher

Same here. I guess I can sympathize with the fans who never understood the appeal of Coulson. The BUdapest thing is something I found amusing in the moment, but don't see why it's given more thought.

It stands to reason that you grow into these things, but she really seems the most comfortable in the role in TWS. I feel like the writers have kinda brought Widow closer to Scarlett, whereas in Iron Man 2 they gave Scarlett stuff she couldn't really sell. There's a scene in Iron Man 2 where she opens a door and walks through it. With Happy, if I recall right. She looks like an angry little girl. She's just not convincing *at all*.

With TWS I feel like they make her tough side more of a simmering thing than this broad, body language thing. The look in her eyes is one of relaxed cool-headedness rather than intensity - which she can't pull off anyway.

It could be because it was originally written for Emily Blunt, who's a more *imposing* and scenery chewing kind of presence on screen, and now they've adapted the material properly to the actress that for all intents and purposes is the MCU Black Widow now.

It's fun to hear that she seems to enjoy playing the part, as well. It's kinda important to me for some reason that I feel like they're into what they're doing. Especially when they're looking at plenty more movies in their respective contracts.
cipher - 4/3/2014, 1:24 PM
ruadh- Yeah, I just never gave the Budapest line much thought beyond "well, that was funny". It's kinda like the LMD line in The Avengers, y'know? It was just a bit of fun, that's all.

I like Scarlett's Widow, though. Heh, sometimes I feel like I'm the only one who does.

Maybe I'm just a bloody moron.

dethpillow - 4/3/2014, 1:50 PM
@cipher - yeah it was just like Han/Chewie Kessel Run type talk.

anyways there is a Budapest movie they could do, if they did it like Secret Avengers last run. make the whole thing a memory induced by SHIELD to test their new memory wipe tech. that story would also involve AIM island, Mockingbird, Taskmaster and weird spider face robot Widow. remote controlled agents, face cloaks and people murdering the wrong people all over the place. that could be rad, but Budapest would still just be a footnote in it.
dethpillow - 4/3/2014, 1:55 PM
they better make the Kessel Run movie first tho.
and then we also need a movie about when Boba Fett was 15 years old and lost his virginity with Greedo and IG-88. in the basement of Jabba the Hutt's cousin's house.
oh and then we need our Stormtrooper Academy movie too. do that first, and then we can talk about Budapest.
Destined - 4/3/2014, 5:45 PM
Folks really took that Budapest line and ran with it huh? Reaching much? Anyways, if there is anything involving a film with her, it needs to be Winter Soldier centered as well. End of.
