There's been a lot of positive buzz surrounding Anthony and Joe Russo's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, and it looks like that will translate into ticket sales as a new report states that the highly anticipated will open to a whopping $80+ million next month!

Another year, another hit for Marvel Studios. According to The Hollywood Reporter, pre-release tracking for Captain America: The Winter Soldier indicates that the sequel will earn upwards of $80 million when it debuts in North America on April 4th. Some even believe that it will reach as much as $85 million, just like Thor: The Dark World did last November. This is another example of how beneficial The Avengers was to these solo movies; Captain America: The First Avenger opened with a still very impressive $65 million back in 2011. There has already been talk of a third Captain America movie from the Russo brothers, a good indication that Marvel Studios are VERY happy with what they've done with the character. How much do you guys think it will earn?

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

I've heard from people who saw it early that this is definitely Marvel's best movie yet (even better than Iron Man and The Avengers).

Can't wait to see it!
Batman52 - 3/13/2014, 12:17 PM
Please let CA:TWS open over $100 million at the box office, so DC can think about what they're doing and move to April 3rd, 2016.
Reasonnnn - 3/13/2014, 12:17 PM

RichardBoldly - 3/13/2014, 12:19 PM
Then, you [frick]ers blame other people for bashing you marvelites.

Retards like you that give Marvel a bad reputation. Same with LOTR fans give Tolkien a bad reputation.
AgentZero - 3/13/2014, 12:19 PM

MrBlackJack hit the nail right on the head. Couldn't agree more.

CBM is literally one of the only sites where the users revert back into the same. exact. arguments. over and over again. It's so ridiculous. Obviously the Marvel vs DC rivalry goes back to the comics, but who really gives a crap about which studio is "winning"?

As long as either studio gives us quality movies, then who cares? The money-making business executives in charge of either company certainly don't care how many fanboys are siding with them. But Hell will probably freeze over before the majority of people on CBM realize how dumb this argument really is.
RichardBoldly - 3/13/2014, 12:23 PM
Which company has one CBM listed in the American Film Institute as one of the top 10 of the year??

Oh, yes. Suck it.
AsgardianHobo - 3/13/2014, 12:24 PM

Did that guy paint his gut sticking out of his shirt??? LOL
Pedrito - 3/13/2014, 12:24 PM
I'm with you on that.
I don't want to write how fired up I am if it's just going to contribute to flame wars.

Let's save the flame wars for articles with Marvel 1 : DC 0 in the title. Haha.
BlacktinAmerica - 3/13/2014, 12:24 PM
More good news for Marvel, Thor almost dropped the ball for us but Cap has our back.
AsgardianHobo - 3/13/2014, 12:25 PM

Way to bitch about Marvelites and then throw the first stone. Hypocrite
Nomis - 3/13/2014, 12:25 PM
@ AsgardianHobo - LOL!!!! Proboly! ;)
cipher - 3/13/2014, 12:26 PM
MrBlackJack- Haha, you seriously got reported for that?
cipher - 3/13/2014, 12:26 PM
I suppose I shouldn't be surprised. People report the most innocuous things lately.
Starfox - 3/13/2014, 12:27 PM
Just to let you guys know, I'm in no way shape or form involved in this flame war thats about to come.
I love both companies.
cipher - 3/13/2014, 12:27 PM
I don't give two shits about picking a side.
cipher - 3/13/2014, 12:27 PM
I think that's obvious by now.
DefcoN - 3/13/2014, 12:28 PM
As long as we don't feed the regular trolls with our attention, we'll be OK.

As for the movie, I'm literally counting the days left for March 27.
