BOX OFFICE: CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER Set For Highest April Debut Ever With $90M

Marvel Studios have done it again! Fresh off the success of Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World, Captain America: The Winter Soldier looks set for a record breaking April opening, while a final cume of more than $500 million worldwide is now almost a guarantee. Read on for details!

According to BoxOffice.com, Captain America: The Winter Soldier now looks set to beat Thor: The Dark World's $85.7 million domestic debut with an opening weekend of $90+ million. We know from past experience that tracking isn't always reliable, but based on the reviews and positive buzz, these numbers seem extremely realistic. Should it hit this number, the Marvel Studios sequel will beat Fast Five's $86.2 million haul from 2011 to make it the highest April opening of all-time. April has never seen a film debut with over $100 million, but the site believes that based on all the information currently available, this is a very likely possibility for Captain America: The Winter Soldier. Based on the success that it's found internationally so far as well, a global tally of more than $500 million also looks like a dead cert, good news for those who have already seen the sequel and are counting down the days until Captain America 3 is release in 2016!
