Conceptual illustrator, Rodney Fuentebella ("The Avengers"), updated his website with some gorgeous keyframe art he created for Marvel's Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Concept Art by Rodney Fuentebella

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" finds Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier. Based on the ever-popular Marvel comic book series, first published in 1941, Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier" is produced by Kevin Feige, directed by Anthony and Joe Russo, from a screenplay by Christopher Markus & Stephen McFeely, and stars Chris Evans, Scarlett Johansson, Sebastian Stan, Anthony Mackie, Cobie Smulders, Frank Grillo, Emily VanCamp and Hayley Atwell, with Robert Redford as Alexander Pierce and Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury.

Marvel's "Captain America: The Winter Soldier," available early on Digital 3D and HD August 19, and on 3D Blu-ray Combo Pack, Blu-ray, DVD and On-Demand September 9, from Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment.

Hamm as Cable? I could see that working. My personal choice is still Dominic Purcell , though.

When, Cap took down that jet it almost brought a tear to my eye with it's awesomeness.

When he was visiting, Peggy at the hospital it brought tears to my ladys eyes. I love this movie.

That artwork is freaking incredible.
RaleighAntrobus - 6/4/2014, 1:16 PM
CBM of the year, no doubt.
capcyclopsftw - 6/4/2014, 1:25 PM
This movie showed why Cap is the baddest mother fuc.ker in the Avengers. He doesn't need to be a god or a monster or a billionaire with an incredible suit to be the biggest bad ass in the Avengers.

Case in point: The boat scene, the quinjet scene, the fight scenes with WS, etc.
capcyclopsftw - 6/4/2014, 1:27 PM
This art is just........gorgeous. Why they can't use this artwork in comics is beyond me.
capcyclopsftw - 6/4/2014, 1:27 PM
MrMartinMarvel - we typed gorgeous at the same time!
Nigrutin - 6/4/2014, 2:18 PM
Looks amazing, hope we get Baron Zemo in the next one like for real then the trilogy would be the BEST CBM trilogy!
billnye69 - 6/4/2014, 2:20 PM
I'll never understand why the people who do movie concept art don't also draw for the comics. Just seems like a no brainer to me but what do I know.
BrownandYellowWolvie - 6/4/2014, 2:40 PM
@billnye69 probably because Hollywood is more lucrative. If you go onto DeviantArt, many of the amazing artists choose to work for the movie industry instead of comic books, even doing mundane stuff like storyboarding. That's probably why comic books have so many crappy artists these days...they are the ones left behind.
Phlegmbot - 6/4/2014, 2:41 PM
I've been saying to friends for a couple of weeks now, if Cap 3 wants to kick Superman v. Batman's a--, it should do the following: Make Cap 3 a buddy movie teaming Captain America with...The Incredible HULK.

The poster alone would sell more tix than anything else.

And then, assuming they're going to continue the Winter Soldier story, Cap is probably gonna die at the end of the next movie. So, imagine: Cap is teamed with the MOST powerful Avenger, they're fighting together and against each other the whole movie, w/Capt trying to keep Hulk in line. Now, in the climax of the movie, they've been separated and Hulk knows Cap is in danger...he tries to get there -- but Cap's in a tough spot. Bucky has been taken down. Falcon too. As Cap saves the world (again!), he tells Hulk over a comm unit that it's too late for him. Hulk screams "No!" and makes his way to Cap's location. When he arrives, he sees what he hoped he'd never see: Captain America dead. Hulk drops to his knees.

He let's out a roar. Bucky and Falcon arrive to claim the body -- Hulk doesn't let them touch it. He takes Cap's body back to Avengers Tower....
capcyclopsftw - 6/4/2014, 3:18 PM
Phlegmbot - While that would be amazing....Chris Evans is signed on for Avengers 3, which will take place after Cap 3.
jimjim - 6/4/2014, 3:21 PM
did anyone notice the concept art is not the commander rodgers uniform they went with in the movies. i guess the idea of going with the other uniform came later.
marvel72 - 6/4/2014, 3:31 PM
fantastic artwork from a fantastic movie.
Null - 6/4/2014, 4:03 PM
I wish to see this a third time!
ThePowerCosmic - 6/4/2014, 4:10 PM

Because it would take forever for a comic book to be finished if they put that amount of time and detail in each panel. Tough to do on a monthly schedule.
