I hope he's more than a plot device like I've been hearing. He should be akin to Bane in a sense that when he's up against Cap, you should be scared at what he's going to do.

For example, Bane vs. Batman in the sewer. Probably the only time I've been scared FOR the hero.
MrCBM56 - 3/21/2014, 6:40 AM
I hope he's chilling.
SuperCat - 3/21/2014, 6:54 AM
Heath Ledger is a legend!
ProfessorX - 3/21/2014, 6:54 AM
@MRCBM: From the sound of IGN's review he will be:

"Finally, as to The Winter Soldier himself. It is no exaggeration to say that Sebastian Stan’s Winter Soldier is – other than Loki – Marvel’s most successful, and by far most terrifying, villain to date. Again, we’ll leave the details off the page, as we want audiences to enjoy the experience fully. However, we will say that Stan is both heartbreaking and legitimately chilling. He is relentless, feels unstoppable, is fundamentally the Terminator of the superhero world and is absolutely one of the most exciting new characters we’ve seen in the Marvel Cinematic Universe."
GizmoEl - 3/21/2014, 7:02 AM
Winter Soldier was great. He was in a few scenes but great nonetheless. He was so badass in the movie.
Starfox - 3/21/2014, 7:07 AM
Winter Soldier no doubt will be in future Marvel Films. So We will be seeing him a lot more.
charlie2094 - 3/21/2014, 7:09 AM
Don't think Winter Soldier will have too much to do in this film, probably a bigger plot device than villain, but from what we've seen he looks great! The action between him and Cap looks amazing too, very brutal, fast paced close quarter stuff

Sure he'll turn out great, and unlike other Marvel villains, he'll very likely reappear so can be fleshed out even more. For the Winter Soldier arc, being terminator-like works, sure he gets some development, no doubt more to come
Doopie - 3/21/2014, 7:11 AM
wanna know how i got this arm?
Pasto - 3/21/2014, 7:11 AM
You're god damn right he's and Inspiration. One casting choice that I'd like to see Marvel try to top.
charlie2094 - 3/21/2014, 7:15 AM

Definitely love to see a fight that can match that! Whilst some complain about how Batman isn't really the Batman we know ability wise, that fight was so brutal and well done, you truly felt scared for him! I wanted Batman to die in the film, thinking it could be a good end to the trilogy, but seeing how brutal Bane was in the fight, I completely changed my mind :P

That sense of danger is great to see, maybe we could see something akin to that in Avengers 3, maybe Cap dies at Thanos' hands, setting up Bucky to take over
ProfessorX - 3/21/2014, 7:23 AM
@Pasto: Marvel can't top it because it was perfect casting. However, I would argue RDJ as Tony Stark was also perfect casting.
MrCBM56 - 3/21/2014, 7:29 AM

EXACTLY! And Sebastian Stan has 7 movies left on his contract after The Winter Soldier comes out. His story isn't over yet.
Starfox - 3/21/2014, 7:30 AM
RDJ was Perfect casting, Chris Hemsworth was perfect castng, Tom hiddleston was very good, and Sebastian Stan was an amazing choice. Marvel has been killin with the casting.

Starfox - 3/21/2014, 7:35 AM

Charlie is an undercover hater just like MrCMB. ;)
GodzillaKart - 3/21/2014, 8:16 AM
Nice comments on Stan's part. Ledger performance was absolutely amazing. Not only did it make Nolan's trilogy, it elevated the entire genre.
BboiBlack - 3/21/2014, 8:17 AM
NOW WE'RE TALKING ABOUT HEATH LEADER? Why is marvel constantly trying to tie themselves to dc buzz.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/21/2014, 8:17 AM
@Thorion good to hear. I feel like slapping someone too. ;)
GodzillaKart - 3/21/2014, 8:18 AM

*Tries to understand how that is 'hating'*

And.....I got nothin.
Pasto - 3/21/2014, 8:21 AM
I just think a couple of you are high-strung. Simmer down, enjoy yourself. Don't be so quick to attack people with opinions or ideas.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/21/2014, 8:22 AM
Sebastian has the right idea though. Look at your contemporaries take what worked and visualize and create something new while maintaining the integrity of the character. All actors/actresses pull from past performances of any genre to create their own. Heath left an imprint. Now its up to the next person to raise the bar or create something that's in the same class.
Ruffus - 3/21/2014, 8:26 AM
(NOW WE'RE TALKING ABOUT HEATH LEADER? Why is marvel constantly trying to tie themselves to dc buzz.)

What? This is one actor talking about another actor. This has nothing to do with studios.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/21/2014, 8:27 AM
Glad the winter soldier is another solidified MCU character we can see in the future. Maybe we will in Captain America 3 or a Black Widow solo. Avengers 3 will have all these characters though I assume.
Brainiac13 - 3/21/2014, 8:28 AM

Who would be your Marvel villian?.......Mine would be Dr Doom or Green Goblin.
TheRealRemyLebeau - 3/21/2014, 8:29 AM
Just glad the development for the heroes and some villains do not just end. Especially in Thor's world where hela can resurrect the dead.
SageMode - 3/21/2014, 8:41 AM
Harvey Dent/Two-Face was a better villain in TDK than Ledger's Joker. But I digress.
Omarvls - 3/21/2014, 8:43 AM
It Begins

Is 'Captain America: The Winter Solder' The Best Comic Book Movie of all Time?
Captain America: The Winter Soldier is going to be big. Very big!

by Michael West | 21 March 2014

It looks like it will be Top 3 at the very minimum but the Dark Knight and Avengers might have to move down a spot
Vegeta - 3/21/2014, 8:44 AM

BatmanHeisenberg - 3/21/2014, 8:45 AM
You know, for once, I gotta agree with SageMode in a sense. I still think Joker is my favorite, but goddammit Dent was amazing in that film. I think Two-Face had a better character arc and writing by like an inch, but Joker had the best PERFORMANCE. I got chills down my spine when Harvey was pointing the gun at Gordon's boy. The music and everything felt twisted.

If anyone is to play Harvey again, I nominate Michael Fassbender. It would be hard to anyone to trump Eckhart.
UltimateHunt - 3/21/2014, 8:50 AM
N fanboys uses ledger (what a shame) masterpiece performance as an VALID STATEMENT againts the cast of BvS. Smh
