DEBUNKED Captain America: The First Avenger Teaser Poster Revealed?

DEBUNKED Captain America: The First Avenger Teaser Poster Revealed?

Could this be a teaser poster for Marvel's patriotic movie adaption of Captain America: The First Avenger. Check it Out!

UPDATE: Last night I contacted the individual who confirmed the legitimacy of the Captain America movie logo revealed here last week to question the validity of this poster. His reply was simple: "The image is not by any means official artwork from the studio." He went on to explain that the easiest tell for an eagle-eyed fan was the included credits; since Captain America does not currently have an editor or composer signed on, and the ones listed in this image are from Marvel's Thor.

I contacted early this morning to share this information but have yet to hear a response. Instead, it seems they simply removed the original article from their database; since it is no longer available.

- MultiPurposePoni June 6th, 2010

The site that gave us the first description & confirmation for Captain America's costume, Joblo, has ran a story claiming to have been sent the teaser poster for Captain America: The First Avenger movie.(pictured below left)

Joblo includes that This was (there) first communique from (an) untested spy, and while the names of villain Toby Jones and female lead Hayley Atwell are curiously absent, otherwise the image appears legit. Which means this promotional poster (or a version of it) will be adorning walls, kiosks and buildings at the Cinema Expo in Amsterdam later this month.

DCMF: The logo of this possible teaser (picture right), looks very similar to the possible logo revealed here on CBM exclusively, almost a week ago (picture below). And CBM editor, MultiPurposePoni, who ran that exclusive, stated via Twitter that he received confirmation that the logo was legit. So this teaser poster may be legit as well. What do you think?

Captain America: The First Avenger begins filming on the 28th of this month, June, with a cast lead by Chris Evans, and including Stan Sebastian, Hayley Atwell, Hugo Weaving, and yet to be officially announced Tommy Lee Jones, Dominic Cooper, and Neal McDonough. The film hits theaters July 22, 2011.

Looks awesome, but not 100% sure on it being official.
mindform - 6/5/2010, 3:55 PM
I honestly doubt it but the tagline is pretty cool :')
Minotauro - 6/5/2010, 4:03 PM

THEMRTERRIFIC - 6/5/2010, 4:06 PM
IDK? I guess we'll see.
LEEE777 - 6/5/2010, 4:09 PM
Probably FAN-FIC, looks FAN-FIC! : p

LEEE777 - 6/5/2010, 4:10 PM

JoshWilding - 6/5/2010, 4:14 PM
I couldnt begin to guess whether it's real or fan made but it looks pretty awesome either way IMO. Nice find DCMF! :)
SHHH - 6/5/2010, 4:14 PM
Could be Real..I did my usual homework..Can't find nothing..Yet..Still lookin...
..I find em if there fake.

Nemeres - 6/5/2010, 4:17 PM
I like the tagline. Don't get why it's got a black bricks backdrop though.
yttox - 6/5/2010, 4:27 PM
To close to the Dak Knight teaser, with the wall in the background!!!
Joker08 - 6/5/2010, 4:27 PM
Whether it's authentic or not is beyond me, but if it is - what is the name after Neil McDonough? It says "Neil McDonough AND ????".

And I'm still excited about TLJ's casting in this! It brought my confidence level up in the production to another level.
BoydeyMcNerd - 6/5/2010, 4:29 PM
LEEE777 is right it looks like a really good Fan Fic thing, it looks like something that 'FineLine Kreative' multipurposeponi featured in an article back in Feb would come up with..but better. The brick wall gives it away, it serves no purpose the background should have just been black..iam sure we will find out in San Diego :)
Joker1zero - 6/5/2010, 4:29 PM
I dunno if it's real or not but either way, they should've been a little more creative with it.
Destroyer14 - 6/5/2010, 4:31 PM
I can't see this as the official poster.
Joker08 - 6/5/2010, 4:32 PM
Actually - after looking close I think it says 'Patrick Doyle' - anfter googling him I found out he's a composer - I just can't read the tiny letters in front of his name.
elcaballerooscuro92 - 6/5/2010, 4:33 PM
it looks awesome!
EditNinja - 6/5/2010, 4:34 PM
If it isn't real, it's a nice manip. I like the titles.
peterparker420 - 6/5/2010, 4:40 PM
It is So hard to tell these days..I could see it
being REAL..and then I could see it being FAKE..?
fanboiii - 6/5/2010, 4:50 PM
I would've liked a close up of his star on his chest with some battle grime.
airbeyonder18 - 6/5/2010, 4:50 PM
Looks pretty good. If it is real then I must say it looks pretty good.
THABATMAN - 6/5/2010, 4:54 PM
me like
avengermeister - 6/5/2010, 4:55 PM
What does the tagline say? My resolution sucks
Fabs - 6/5/2010, 5:00 PM
That poster can't be legit if the logo from MultiPurposePoni is legit. Look at the T, C and E, and even the proportions of the P.
It's a similar style of font but it's clearly not the same typeface as used in the logo.
Dynamo - 6/5/2010, 5:03 PM
I think it's fake because sam Jackson is listed straight after Hugo weaving implying he has a big part yet Hayley Atwell's name isn't anywhere on the list? :S
kickass2193 - 6/5/2010, 5:16 PM
If this isnt the poster, they should take it and use it. Perfect teaser poster
JLanphear - 6/5/2010, 5:21 PM
Fake. Even THINKING something like this is official is shameful. This is an incredibly amateur piece of design, that screams fan-made. There's no way that Marvel would pass something like this as a teaser poster for one of their films.
NateBest - 6/5/2010, 5:26 PM
I agree with Fabs, the font is close, but NONE of the letters are the same (other than maybe the "i")...

It does have me wanting to *find* a teaser poster... Maybe CBM will have an exclusive on Monday 8')
Jolt17 - 6/5/2010, 5:27 PM
quite great for a teaser. by the way, the 'JoBlo' logo at the right is not official right? LOL ;)
Jaxim - 6/5/2010, 6:09 PM
I had to login before I could see the poster.
fanboy76 - 6/5/2010, 6:25 PM
Gaston whoever made that poster should sell it to Marvel. That thing is by far best comic movie poster around, fan made or not. it has cap exactly as I would like to see him in the first movie.
blinkuldhc - 6/5/2010, 6:27 PM
I'm sorry but this is a terribly written article.
TrekFan1 - 6/5/2010, 6:27 PM
I don't know about the poster image itself, but those credits are fake. In addition to the absence of Halyey Atwell, Dominic Cooper, and Toby Jones, Jon Favreau's Fairview Entertainment is listed, but Favreau is not involved with the project; someone copied that credit from the 'Iron Man' posters. Also, the composer and editor for Captain America are not yet known, so whoever made the credits substituted the editor and composer for 'Thor' in their place. The rest of the credits come from IMDb.
future0fcomixs - 6/5/2010, 6:28 PM
i have a feeling with all these official posters and stuff be confirmed its all fake cause idk how this would ALL come out at once accidentally like the green lanturn stuff
Breasticles7 - 6/5/2010, 6:34 PM
Not real. Cool tagline though!
BIGBMH - 6/5/2010, 6:47 PM
Eh...Not sure about this. It looks like it could pretty easilly be fanmade.
fanboiii - 6/5/2010, 7:11 PM
Hey guys, what's a good tagline for an Avengers poster?
Zer0Winz - 6/5/2010, 7:27 PM

InTylerWeTrust - 6/5/2010, 7:27 PM
