Kinda surprised about this piece of news.

JerBear - 12/19/2012, 2:08 PM
Well he did say he wouldn't be in Thor and he was. This time I believe him though.
JPS1992 - 12/19/2012, 2:13 PM
He says this now, wait until Marvel or Joss need to set something for the avengers 2, then we will see him appear in the Thor 2 or GOTG, after having a shit load of money thrown at him.
JordanKing - 12/19/2012, 2:14 PM
My, there's the shock of the century if I ever saw it.
SmellofDuty - 12/19/2012, 2:20 PM
Siri, please explain what The Muth[frick]a is trying to say here. It's seems as if he's saying that he's taking a time out. The Mutha[frick]a doesn't take a time out...
Durf - 12/19/2012, 2:22 PM
Not really surprised, but we will see if he sticks to that
ToTheManInTheColdSweat - 12/19/2012, 2:23 PM
2014 - CA:WS
2015 - Avengers 2

Is there any Marvel movie between those two?
JorLBola - 12/19/2012, 2:24 PM
Oh... Not really surprised but, it would be cool, more Fury...
Soze - 12/19/2012, 2:26 PM
What's surprising about this? The only Marvel movie scheduled inbetween is Guardians of the Galaxy isn't it? Iron Man 3 and Thor 2 are out before Cap 2 anyhow.
616 - 12/19/2012, 2:27 PM
I don't mind, he's not he's in every comic
JorLBola - 12/19/2012, 2:27 PM
Cause Captain & Bucky will be the last film before the Avengers He probably would be a principal bond between The Avengers 2
Or am I wrong?
WaylonJones - 12/19/2012, 2:28 PM
My bad guys, in my head I was thinking Cap came out next year. Guardians Of The Galaxy is his only opportunity to appear in any other Marvel films after Cap. I have reworded the headline and teaser so it makes more sense.
GoILL - 12/19/2012, 2:32 PM

jazzman - 12/19/2012, 2:35 PM
they holding him out to appear in a Dr Strange and Black Panther movie lol
Xandera - 12/19/2012, 2:36 PM
I'm a little surprised that he won't pop up in Iron Man 3... but not so surprised about Guardians of the Galaxy.

@WaylonJones No Worries!
HavocPrime - 12/19/2012, 2:41 PM
Doesn't have to be in every Marvel film, and how would he take apart in GoTG anyway.
Durf - 12/19/2012, 2:43 PM
@WaylonJones: It's all good dude
Darkseider - 12/19/2012, 2:45 PM
Nick Fury not being in G.O.T.G. is not much of a surprise. If anything, it would be Abigail Brand of S.W.O.R.D. That would make better sense, especially if Marvel is trying to build their cosmic universe.
rubbish78 - 12/19/2012, 2:47 PM
shamo - 12/19/2012, 2:49 PM
is Green Lantern gonna be in it?
Hero020200 - 12/19/2012, 2:55 PM
I am not that surprised that he won't be featuring in GOTG (Due to it being an intergalactic movie, but It would be nice for him to appear in some sort of end credit. I have no idea how, but it would be great like the others
SageMode - 12/19/2012, 3:03 PM
Im sure he cant speak on it due to contractual reasons, im pretty sure it wont be just CA:TWS and that's it.........
TheAbomination - 12/19/2012, 3:05 PM
Not surprised by this. I don't think anybody expected to see him in GOTG.
AmazingFantasy - 12/19/2012, 3:06 PM
I am seriously not suprised at all.
Lockjaw - 12/19/2012, 3:07 PM
Avengers 2 - Hank & Jan, Vision...
yinyangpalms - 12/19/2012, 3:10 PM
I'll be surprised if GOTG actually makes it at the box office. Dont know anyone who wants this movie or cares that its coming or even buys the comics.
This could be Marvels 1st 'Green Lantern'.
TheGambitFreak - 12/19/2012, 3:19 PM
WTF?! He's a crucial character to the series! If Dr. Selvig doesn't show up I'll be boycotting...
jascurio - 12/19/2012, 3:24 PM
Wasn't really expecting him to be in it.
FirstAvenger - 12/19/2012, 3:33 PM
Okay so no to iron man 3 and Thor the dark world?
TheGambitFreak - 12/19/2012, 3:34 PM
@yingyangpalms, It's popular enough to have been featured in video games. It's popular enough to have dozens of action figures crafted after it. It's popular enough that it is one of Marvel's oldest running title series. It's popular enough hundreds of people forge cosplay costumes and fancasts celebrating it. And last, but no where near the end of the list, it's so popular that a studio that, by now, knows what works (Iron Man) and what does not (Iron Man 2, to an extent), decided to adapt it into a mult-million dollar costly film, in which case, when revealed, a plethora of people screamed with glee and the world wide web went nuts over the news.

I know, both by looking around and by my fellow geeks that a TON of people want this. And they do care, because regardless of how well it does, they're getting their beloved characters on screen and possibly in the Avengers 2.

Plus with a cult-following, self-proclaimed, super geek such as James Gunn? Of Super, Dawn of the Dead and the upcoming comedy, Movie 43 fame....And whom is terrific friends with Simon Pegg and other sci-fi icons. Who just happens to tap this whenever he damn well pleases:

Not to even mention his friendship with Joss Whedon, whom is accommodating him with the film, I'm gonna say it'll do damn well at the Box Office.
marvel72 - 12/19/2012, 3:53 PM
i really don't want to see fury in the guardians of the galaxy,i want it to be more cosmic less earth.

its what green lantern should of been more cosmic less earth.
TheGambitFreak - 12/19/2012, 4:09 PM
If Jenna Fischer is casted as Gamora, I will flip shit. That'd be so cool and weird at the same time.
Funsize - 12/19/2012, 4:34 PM
Not very surprising news
BANE5000 - 12/19/2012, 5:07 PM
Maks sense...I mean they are in space, i'd expect more of another cosmic related character making a cameo or end credits scene appearance than SLJ
FireKnightRises - 12/19/2012, 5:17 PM
He should appeared in new SHIELD tv series
figuresmaniac - 12/19/2012, 5:28 PM
no ironman 3 then...
Fogs - 12/19/2012, 5:35 PM
Maybe Dr. Strange will ask fot the Guardians help. Who knows?
MisterNiceGuy - 12/19/2012, 5:49 PM
there is always someone questioning who wants to see this movie... uhhhh I DO and im pretty sure most of us here do as well. stop the hating, especially if your unfamiliar with the material because than you just sound ignorant.
darkjoker1 - 12/19/2012, 6:02 PM
