I remember when my dad rented this for me, and that was my first exposure to Captain America, now that I am older, wiser, and nerdier, I can tell you this is not Captain America.

It's about damn TIME this film got a solid, widescreen release-- and as a Blu-Ray from Shout! Factory? It couldn't possibly get any better! I hope this has the extended director's cut they were talking about back in 2012 on it (preferably as a branching alternate version of the movie); but either way, THIS WILL BE MINE!!!

marvel72 - 2/13/2013, 1:39 PM
i've got this on vhs,its not worth upgrading it to blu-ray.

why watch this crap when you can watch captain america the first avenger which is superior in every way.
Starjammer - 2/13/2013, 1:46 PM

i love this movie! it is so perfect for drinking games. you guys hating are crazy. this will give you the best buzz you ever had. take a swig everytime matt salinger gives his all to boost this movie above what it was. you will be fcuked and you will be really greatfull that salinger was able to carry this movie when it should not have worked at all.

sorry to chris evans but salinger is my live action cap.
he was cool when i was a kid. he helped my boozing when i was a teen and started my drinking game obsession. and as an adult i hold his performance as the chack point. does this actor elevate the material the way matt did?

movie is crazy kids, fcuk the haters, this movie is great! everything wrong with it makes it what it is. much love. eat it.

boogie out!
Boogie138 - 2/13/2013, 2:02 PM

marvel72 - 2/13/2013, 2:07 PM
@ monkeyballs3

yeah i want every phase 1 - phase whatever in my collection.

my favorite phase 1 movies

1st the avengers 4/5
2nd iron man 4/5
3rd captain america the first avenger 3.5/5
4th thor 3.5/5
5th the incredible hulk 3/5
6th iron man 2 3/5

captain america the first avenger & thor are pretty equal to me so 3rd & 4th change between the two depending on mood.
marvel72 - 2/13/2013, 2:14 PM
this movie showed captain america as a car thief not once but twice if i remember correctly.

this version of cap was meant to be taken seriously but it was a complete joke from start to finish.
TheCasualLurker - 2/13/2013, 2:26 PM
Aww, I was hoping for the Reb Brown Cap movies... This one was terrible.

I liked the Corman F4 movie better than this cap movie.

Word of the upcoming release was posted in a previous article. However, the official press release/announcement of the movie wasn't up at that time. Now it is. There is, however small to some of you, a distinction.
