UK Version Of Steve's 21st Century "To-Do" List From CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

UK Version Of Steve's 21st Century "To-Do" List From CAPTAIN AMERICA: THE WINTER SOLDIER

As you may have already seen, there's one moment in Captain America: The Winter Soldier which sees Steve Rogers take out a list of things he needs to see or do in the present day. However, each country is seemingly getting a different version! How does the UK one differ from the US?

For the sake of comparison, below is the US version. Fans in the UK were actually able to vote for what they wanted to see on this list, hence why the likes of Sherlock and former James Bond Sean Connery have made the cut. Who are what else would you add? Be sure to let us know below!

After the cataclysmic events in New York with The Avengers, Marvel’s “Captain America: The Winter Soldier” finds Steve Rogers, a.k.a. Captain America, living quietly in Washington, D.C. and trying to adjust to the modern world. But when a S.H.I.E.L.D. colleague comes under attack, Steve becomes embroiled in a web of intrigue that threatens to put the world at risk. Joining forces with the Black Widow, Captain America struggles to expose the ever-widening conspiracy while fighting off professional assassins sent to silence him at every turn. When the full scope of the villainous plot is revealed, Captain America and the Black Widow enlist the help of a new ally, the Falcon. However, they soon find themselves up against an unexpected and formidable enemy—the Winter Soldier.

Chris Evans as Captain America
Scarlett Johansson as Black Widow

Sebastian Stan as The Winter Soldier
Anthony Mackie as Falcon
Cobie Smulders as Maria Hill

SuperCat - 3/31/2014, 6:36 AM

Ineedrevelation - 3/31/2014, 6:41 AM
Can't wait to see it again
ndwwrestler2 - 3/31/2014, 6:43 AM
It would be so funny if they added Firefly to that list.
Doopie - 3/31/2014, 6:44 AM
gotta question why steve would be interested in the '66 world cup final. i can understand the beatles and sir sean, and as great as that game was i thought most americans aren't interested in 'soccerball'
dangermouse - 3/31/2014, 6:47 AM
I thought the 1966 world cup final seemed a little odd on the list when I watched it, seemed to be very British list for Captain America. Do Americans even know why that would be good to watch?
DrRockit13 - 3/31/2014, 6:47 AM
The Beatles Should have been on both lists! Also should have had Jimi Hendrix/ Woodstock
McNyagano - 3/31/2014, 6:47 AM
Lmao @ndwwrestler2
InfiniteMonkey - 3/31/2014, 6:48 AM
"Friends with Benefits."

That should be good for Steve.
Agent 13
Black Widow
and a bevy of hot SHIELD agents.
Owlman88 - 3/31/2014, 6:50 AM
Latin America version had Shakira, LOL

NoAssemblyReqd - 3/31/2014, 6:50 AM
The World Cup one really stands out as odd for an American to care about (I'm in the US). I have friends in their 30s whose knowledge of a World Cup begins and ends with HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE.
ComicsBornAndBred - 3/31/2014, 6:56 AM
Harry Potter UK version
and Emma Watson cause damn she fine haha
MexicanSexyman - 3/31/2014, 6:59 AM
The Canadian version will have Nickelback and Justin Beiber.
bropous - 3/31/2014, 7:00 AM
THIS is why the 1966 World Cup final is listed on the UK version of Steve Rogers' to-see list:

"The 1966 FIFA World Cup Final was the final match in the 1966 FIFA World Cup, the eighth football World Cup. The match was contested by England and West Germany on 30 July 1966 at Wembley Stadium in London, and had an attendance of 96,924.[1] England won 4–2 after extra time to win the Jules Rimet Trophy. The England team became known as the "wingless wonders", on account of their then-unconventional narrow attacking formation, described at the time as a 4–3–3.[2] The match is remembered for England's only World Cup trophy, Geoff Hurst's hat-trick – the only one ever scored in a World Cup Final – and the controversial third goal awarded to England by referee Gottfried Dienst and linesman Tofik Bakhramov."

MY list for the US version would be far different:

*Strip Clubs/The Bunny Ranch
*Las Vegas
*Star Trek (ALL versions)
*Saving Private Ryan
*The Internet (same)
*Stephen Ambrose's "Citizen Soldiers"
*Reno 911
*South Park
*The Beatles (same)
*New Wave/Punk
*Strip Clubs/The Bunny Ranch (I know, twice, but Steve REALLY needs it!)

@Doopie, soccerball? Well a lot of Hispanics in the US love soccer. I'm in to American football.
ndwwrestler2 - 3/31/2014, 7:03 AM
@TheMexicanSupermansMacaqueIsHairy With Beiber's named crossed out and "(never again)" put right beside his name.
Comedian03 - 3/31/2014, 7:03 AM
In Canadian cuts of the movie the list reads:

More snow
and snow
QuestiontheAnswer - 3/31/2014, 7:09 AM
66 World Cup was the only time England won a soccer world cup.
Doopie - 3/31/2014, 7:10 AM

I know my brother is married to a puerto rican girl and her family are into football/soccer. I would think that steve rogers is more in to baseball tho. if he had anything football related you'd think it would be david beckham!
QuestiontheAnswer - 3/31/2014, 7:18 AM
It's on the UK list because it was voted by people from the UK.
QuestiontheAnswer - 3/31/2014, 7:19 AM
The 1966 World Series would've been a better reference for Cap.
fortycals - 3/31/2014, 7:23 AM
My list for Steve.
5) Freebird
4) mlk
3) aids
2) jergens hand lotion
1) pornhub
OrgasmicPotatoe - 3/31/2014, 7:37 AM

BraxtonHicks - 3/31/2014, 7:41 AM
Dippin' Dots
Bill Bixby
Bruce Lee
Chuck Norris Jokes
In Living Color
Def Jam

DaniDeSanta - 3/31/2014, 7:47 AM
My to-do list for Steve Rogers:

· elrubiusOMG
· Doctor Who
· Internet
· Nicolas Cage
· Star Wars
· South Park
· Johnny Test (CROSSED OUT)
· Ice Cube: Why We Thugs
· Grand Theft Auto.
· Pac-Man.
figuresmaniac - 3/31/2014, 7:49 AM
He should've added Captain America comic vol 5 by Ed Brubaker
NoAssemblyReqd - 3/31/2014, 7:59 AM
That would be pretty META ^^^

I don't think there would actually be superhero comics in this universe -- they'd probably all be ninja, pirates, detective comics (like in WATCHMEN).
symbiotics - 3/31/2014, 8:06 AM
besides Shakira, Argentinian version also had Maradona's hand of god goal from Mexico '86
DanMcNice - 3/31/2014, 8:09 AM
In Mexico we had:
Neri Vela (first mexican astronaut)
Octavio Paz.

Could not see the others. But even if it was a nice touch I think it was really odd.

BEATLES should belong to every list in every country!!!!!
pepe - 3/31/2014, 8:29 AM
Why is'nt Jar Jar on da list?
ndwwrestler2 - 3/31/2014, 8:34 AM

I'm sorry, what was that?
CoulsonLives - 3/31/2014, 8:38 AM
Mine would be
Star Wars
Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles(80's-2012 versions)
The Beatles
Adventure Time
Harry Potter
Lord of the Rings
Super Mario
SuperDude001 - 3/31/2014, 8:44 AM
Hmm I too saw it (and live) in the UK, but saw the US version of the list. Oh well. To be honest having the World Cup there does stick out kinda weird, I mean sure Cap didn't know what was special so a Brit could've suggested it to him but tbh I'm British and don't even know why it's special. And whilst 'Sherlock' is a worldwide hit, it feels a little too recent for someone to put that on his list. I mean he could've caught up between Avengers and Cap 2.
If the UK list was needed, it would've been better for the directer to just do it and put on UK things known worldwide or popular in the US too like Harry Potter, James Bond (in general), Shaun Of The Dead, the London Eye, the 7/7 bombing, Tony Blair/Cameron (recent political ideas basically), Monty Python, or Queen. Idk, I just think 'Sean Connery', 'Sherlock', and 'World Cup 66' stand out really awkwardly, the should've had general things, not like Rogers knows a Brit who is a big Connery fan and loves UK football history.
fortycals - 3/31/2014, 8:48 AM
This isa travesty Sean connery, beat out Benny Hill. I say we riot
jj2112 - 3/31/2014, 8:50 AM
The Canadian version should include Rush. Nuff said.
LeonardTheWise - 3/31/2014, 8:51 AM
Yeah the Latin American version had Shakira! WHAAAA?! Love that the UK version has Sherlock, awesome!
