UPDATE: First Pictures Of Chris Evans And Sam Jackson Filming Captain America In New York!

UPDATE: First Pictures Of Chris Evans And Sam Jackson Filming Captain America In New York!

Thanks to Twitter's @Rcintron8, we have our first shot of Chris Evans and Samuel L. Jackson shooting in Times Square! But why is Steve Rogers wearing THAT... More pictures of the actors as well as Joe Johnston and S.H.I.E.L.D cars added!

Captain America: The First Avenger" will focus on the early days of the Marvel Universe when Steve Rogers (Chris Evans) volunteers to participate in an experimental program that turns him into the Super Soldier known as Captain America. As Captain America, Rogers joins forces with Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan) and Peggy Carter (Hayley Atwell) to wage war on the evil HYDRA organization, led by the villainous Red Skull (Hugo Weaving.)

Hang on a second...isn't that what Chris Evans was wearing as Steve Rogers while filming the movie in Manchester, England? The outfit we know he's in after taking the super soldier serum! Strange...although the angle of this shot makes it somewhat tricky to tell whether the clothes are too small for him and as some of you have pointed out below, he appears to be wearings shoes!

UPDATE: Thanks to Daniel Wanderman, we also have the following picture of the Acura S.H.I.E.L.D vehicles.

UPDATE 2: And now, we have RealIrOnMaN to thank for the following picture which as you can see features Captain America: The First Avenger director Joe Johnston on the right of Chris Evans. I guess this confirms that it is indeed an after credits scene rather than early shooting for The Avengers.

UPDATE 3: And here's another couple clearly showing that Steve is NOT in the same outfit seen in the Manchester shoot, courtesy of "TheSpyAssassin" over at the SHH Forums...

Thanks to On Location Vacations for the early heads up on this filming!

With an all star cast which includes Chris Evans as Captain America, Sebastian Stan as Bucky, Hugo Weaving as Red Skull, Hayley Atwell as Peggy Carter, Tommy Lee Jones as Col. Chester Phillips, Stanley Tucci as Abraham Erskine and Dominic Cooper as Howard Stark, Captain America: The First Avenger will be released in 3D on July 22, later this year!

hmmm....let the scene speculations begin
LEEE777 - 4/23/2011, 1:40 PM
Man why can't SLJ actually look like NICK FURY instead of a copy of his SHAFT character?

marvel72 - 4/23/2011, 1:44 PM
@ leee777

he's alright as fury, but i wouldn't mind seeing him chomping on a cigar.
PaulRom - 4/23/2011, 1:44 PM
Maybe he wears that suit underneath his costume when he was frozen, then after being unfrozen Nick Fury shows him around the modern world. Just a thought.
RED79 - 4/23/2011, 1:44 PM
thats awsome
Comedian03 - 4/23/2011, 1:47 PM
It almost looks like Fury isn't wearing his eye patch, and instead is wearing sunglasses. Hard to tell though.
Hawksblueyes - 4/23/2011, 1:50 PM
He is not barefoot or dirty Josh. The clothes could be a coincidence.
ckirk8 - 4/23/2011, 1:51 PM
I think we're overthinking the reason why Evans is wearing what he's wearing. It's just a white t-shirt with tan pants and while it's what he was wearing in Manchester, I don't think the scenes are related in the slightest. Honestly, I think Sam Jackson just said, "Hey, put on this white tee and these tan pants and let's hit up Time Square."

Plus, in this picture, the tan pants are baggier and appear to actually fit him while he was wearing a smaller pair in Manchester.
TorturedXGenius - 4/23/2011, 1:51 PM
he's wearing an eye patch..and Cap has on desert color camou pants with matching Boots

most likely it'll be like the scene in Ultimate Avengers..where he wakes up and kicks everyone's ass...Nick Fury tells ppl to let him get outside..he sees everything he faints...

We see Fury and Cap walking together in present day with Cap probably wearing those white-t shirts that have the shield logo on them

I'd assume Jackson was filming his cameo or whatever on a nearby set that day and the two are just hanging out.
spider1489 - 4/23/2011, 1:56 PM
I just got the chills! AVENGERS ASSEMBLE!
hippopotamusprime - 4/23/2011, 1:56 PM
Note that the clothes fit . . .
Hellsing - 4/23/2011, 1:57 PM
or you guys should stop speculating about the guys clothes, and speculate more on the actual scene.
Retardo - 4/23/2011, 1:57 PM
Nice find! My guess is this is post credits Captain America scene to help lead up the Avengers, either that or the end 'book mark.'

Speaking of the Avengers... Check out my The Hulk whenever u can!
Hellsing - 4/23/2011, 1:57 PM
I would like to point out the fact that it's not the same clothes since, the pants actually fit him, and no hobbit feet.
GoddamnBatman - 4/23/2011, 2:05 PM
I thought he was gonna un-freeze in The Avengers
ckirk8 - 4/23/2011, 2:07 PM
Well it's safe to say the Acura is now the official vehicle of the Avengers as well...

Lee@ Why can't Evans actually look like Cap
Ichaos - 4/23/2011, 2:16 PM

Because Nick is one mean mother fu....
Shut yo mouth
I'm just takling about Fury
Ranger14 - 4/23/2011, 2:17 PM
Lee@Funny, Jackson looks exactly like Nick Fury. See TorturedXGenius' post.
thecheetoman2004 - 4/23/2011, 2:19 PM
Yeah, the clothes actually fit him, unlike the ones from the Manchester shoot.

I'm thinking that he has already been unfrozen, and Fury is showing him how much NYC has changed.

It's likely either the post credits scene, or the last scene of the movie (they said it'd have modern bookends).
BigG - 4/23/2011, 2:25 PM
Cap: Hmm, so this is the future?

Fury: Yep. U need a moment 2 soak it all in?

Cap: Nah, I'm cool...

Fury: ?

Cap: I do have one request though...

Fury: Ok... Well, what is it?

Cap: I'm carrying 66 years worth of sperm in my balls;
frankly thats way 2 much weight, if you catch my

Fury: Ahh. I have just the solution. Black Widow!

Lool... sorry... it had 2 b done... nice pic though lol... hopefully we'll get something a bit more clear soon though!
Killuminatic - 4/23/2011, 2:27 PM
Hey guys I've posted my idea of the bookends, on the previous article about this scene posted by Josh. I've finished typing it, and now I've found this new article with new pics, it seems to me my ideas could be correct... I don't know if people are gonna read it from the previous article, so I'll post it here aswell...
I think the first book end/opening scene is gonna be Cap being found, and then unfrozen. He wakes up and finds himself in a S.H.I.E.L.D facility, but he thinks that it's still the 40's and he's been captured by Hydra... His concern for Bucky and everything else that has happened up till now has implicated his mind. He fights with many S.H.I.E.L.D agents and manages to escape only to discover what seems to be a new age, a new generation... Our hero, lost in time, roams the streets of New York bewildered by everything that catches his gaze. He aproaches a passer by saying "Where am I!"
Guy: "Why, you're in New York city buddy."
Cap: "New York? What year is this!"
Guy: "2011, where've you been dude?"
Cap: "No no! This can't be!"
He runs, runs to no end, his mind full of questions, and full of despair... He stops, standing in the middle of Times Square, we get a 360 shot of him, his face saying a thousand words... He glances at one of the big screens on top of a building, it advertises - STARK EXPO 2011 "Better Living Through Technology" and shows a picture of Tony Stark. Cap speaks only a name, "Stark." Cap kneels to the ground, he looks to the ground and says "What happened?" and then looks back up again. The camera zooms into his eyes and then the story of our hero begins... The final Bookend/final scene/post credits scene goes back to where the first bookend left off. We see many S.H.I.E.L.D vehicles surrounding Times Square, with agents coming out, ready to aprehend our hero. Nick Fury comes out of one of the vehicles and says to Cap - "Things have changed, the war is over..."
Please tell me what you think of my idea guys... :D Don't mind the speech it isn't the best, I had to rush u see. Oh and I think The Avengers should start off where the final bookend of Cap left off... :D
Ceejay - 4/23/2011, 2:28 PM
There's nothing wrong with SLJ as Fury, they based the 'Ultimates' version of Nick Fury on SLJ and that's why he's playing the part they based on him in the first place!

SHHH - 4/23/2011, 2:31 PM
@Ceejay: Everyone should know by now.. You Would Think they have...:)

Daniellantern - 4/23/2011, 2:32 PM
hmm, remind me of Thor. when he punched out everyone after he woken up in shield military base..
@Killuminatic: " He runs, runs to no end, his mind full of questions, and full of despair... soaponapope - 4/23/2011, 2:32 PM
i think this is NOT a post credits, but actually just the end of the movie. I just have a hunch that the post credits will involve tony stark

@MarvelWeiner - Excelente! :D
Sithsidious66 - 4/23/2011, 2:38 PM
TorturedXGenius is right maybe. I guess its The Avengers material and not Captain America The First Avenger one. YAY Avengers started filming?
barber2323 - 4/23/2011, 2:41 PM
@killuminatic....unfreezed? How old are you...5? There's a cool word in the dictionary called FROZEN. Maybe, just maybe, throw an "un" somewhere near that. As far a your idea, not bad. I'll buy it.
MGS - 4/23/2011, 2:42 PM
I thought they finished filming months ago and the Avengers was suppose to start shooting Monday? Could be the opening scene for the Avengers?
SentinelofLiberty - 4/23/2011, 2:57 PM
Everyone harping on LEE about his Nick Fury comment. I believe he is making a point, albeit tongue in cheek, about how they should be using the classic (616) Nick Fury, rather than the Ultimate version. For many of us, the original character of Fury is almost a "must-have" in a Cap flick. The Howling Commandos without Nick Fury is kind of like...well, like the Avengers without Cap.

Or as I believe LEE might say, "[frick] the Ultimate Universe!"
SentinelofLiberty - 4/23/2011, 2:58 PM
That said, I hope they find a way to work SLJ's Fury into the Commandos, somehow. I just don't see it happening.
MandaloreCayn - 4/23/2011, 3:03 PM
@LEEE777 You do realize that the Black Nick Fury was based off of Samuel L Jackson.
marckos - 4/23/2011, 3:04 PM
parece mais com uma cena em The Avengers do que Captain America
capreborn - 4/23/2011, 3:08 PM
He get unfrozen and is awake in THE FIRST AVENGERS ending. In the post credits, his already working for Shield and maybe helping put together THE AVENGERS... and let us not forget that the time line maybe jumbled. for all we know this may take place before Iron-Man 1

only guessing
GoddamnBatman - 4/23/2011, 3:09 PM
Wasent Furys dad a Howling Commando in the Ultimates version?
AC1 - 4/23/2011, 3:09 PM
@Killumaniac, sounds like a good idea, although I'd prefer the last bookmark to be slightly expanded, and more nostalgic, like Fury explaining that his heroics turned the tides of WWII in the favour of the Allies, and while most people don't know of his involvement, the freedom of the United States, and the future they are in, as all thanks to Captain America.
